On Monday evening, a delivery van raced through Vienna’s inner city and crashed into the plague column on Graben. After the attacks in Magdeburg and Munich, as well as the rampage with an as yet unknown motive in Mannheim, many feared a similar terrorist attack, passers-by panicked and fled.
A terrorist attack was quickly ruled out: The police said that an intoxicated driver lost control of his vehicle and that no one was injured. However, it has now been revealed: the man was rioting when he was arrested, shouting clear slogans – and it was not “his” vehicle either.
The van, which belongs to a Viennese construction company, was stolen from a construction site in Vienna-Penzing shortly before the speeding in the pedestrian zone. The man drove it from Habsburgergasse in the first district into the ditch, accelerating and braking alternately. The collision with the plague column occurred when police officers noticed the man and the stolen vehicle drove into the bollards of the column.
The man resisted arrest and is said to have shouted “Allahu Akbar”, “I’ll f**k your mother” and “I’ll sink you all in the canal” several times. His escape was ended after just a few meters; the 35-year-old’s blood alcohol level was measured at 1.2 per mille. Due to his psychological abnormalities, he was admitted to a psychiatric institution.
Update:
The police have now announced on X that the trip in Vienna’s city center and the 35-year-old’s trip were two different incidents. The two incidents are not connected to each other. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office is now investigating on direct orders from the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office, according to the Vienna State Police Directorate. The original press release about the incident at Graben is no longer available.

It’s amazing. Vienna has no historical recollection of Muslim violence, the Ottoman Empire attacks on Vienna that in 1683 ended with a huge Muslim defeat outside its wall, and now they cover for murderous Muslim lunatics who want to kill them. What a useless, cowardly lot the Austrians and Germans have become! Any sane society would throw out Muslims who have no intention of assimilating and integrating.

1. Not due to terrorism.
2. Due to mental illness.

Apparently, this default position saves time and money on investigations.

I’m surprised that no doctor has produced a journal article on this new manifestation of paranoid schizophrenia in which people think they hear a voice telling them to kill infidels at the same time as their imam is preaching a peaceful community oriented message.
