Could the Department of Education (DOE), a massive boondoggle that has done nothing but oversee a decline in the quality of American education and the substitution of wokeism for readin’, writin’, and ‘rithmetic, really go away? If Donald Trump wins yet another victory, it will.
Fox News reported Wednesday that reporters asked Trump how soon he wanted the department closed. “Oh, I’d like it to be closed immediately,” the president replied. “Look at the Department of Education. It’s a big con job. They ranked the top countries in the world. We’re ranked No. 40, but we’re ranked No. 1 in one department: cost per pupil. So, we spend more per pupil than any other country in the world, but we’re ranked No. 40.” Trump also “said the last time he looked at where the U.S. ranked in education, it was 38th, but then he looked two days ago, and the country had fallen to No. 40.”
Trump also noted that China’s educational system appears to be in fine condition: “As big as it is, it’s ranked in the top five, and that’s our … primary competitor. So, if we’re ranked No. 40, that means something’s really wrong.”
Yes. And it has been wrong for a very long time. Jimmy Carter established the Department of Education, and one of Ronald Reagan’s campaign promises was that he would close it, as it was an unnecessary centralization and bureaucratization of an educational system that had been getting along fine without a Cabinet-level federal agency. When Reagan took office, he appointed Terrel Bell to be his secretary of education, with the explicit task of dismantling the department. In this case, however, the swamp beat the Gipper, and the Education department stayed open.
All these years later, however, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is proving to be up to the task it was given. Fox noted that “DOGE announced Monday that $881 million related to 89 DOE contracts was being cut. Of that $881 million, DOGE identified $101 million that was being used for DEI training, including teaching educators to ‘help students understand/interrogate the complex histories involved in oppression, and help students recognize areas of privilege and power on an individual and collective basis.’” Elon Musk pointed out what was no less outrageous for being obvious: “Your tax dollars were spent on this.”
Trump has also “signed two executive orders on education, one to remove federal funding from K-12 schools that teach critical race theory (CRT), and another to support school choice.” Nature abhors a vacuum, however. One hopes that Trump will also eventually mandate that American education be focused upon fostering a sense of patriotism, pride in one’s country, culture, and heritage, and the importance of national unity over identity politics and the Balkanization of America into a multitude of mutually hostile racial and ethnic identity factions.

The FRUIT of Islam is incessant WAR, terrorism, discrimination, slavery, malice, ISLAMIZATION, and violence against all Non-Muslims; this FACT must be taught and broadcast to the general public to prohibit Islam, its Mosques, its Courts, and its Schools. Also, Islam is an Antichrist System terrorizing Israel, Christians, and Non-Muslims(Quran 3:54; 5:51 and more). Plus, there is NO EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW in Islam or in Islamic Law(Quran 5:51; 9:29; 98:6-7 and more). So America is number 40 out of 40 nations on educating our children and we spend the most per child in the 40 nations surveyed. The board of education has done a “fine” job in Washington D.C. after it was formed by President Carter about 47 years ago dumbing down our children .Maybe if they pushed the basics in math ,reading ,writing instead of communist ,and trans-sexual misfits agenda push on children and making the parents the enemy of the school teachers union .We as a country could produce educated children who can function as adults before the age of 40.

Hand out loans, charge lots of interest make it difficult for students to pay, hire a bunch of *collection** companies who get lots of dough romr the people they frighten into handing over large sums of money every month for thirty years…
One might call it loan-sharking. And the same people control how each State *teaches* the kids. Indoctrination, make them believe they need that *degree* to get a good job and get ahead, so they can continue to roll in the money from the parents and students, while the kids have a difficult time managing their lives.

Don’t worry libs. Nothing is going to happen to the department of education because there will be a left wing lunatic judge(who Lindsey Graham no doubt voted for) that will step in and halt anything Trump tries to do.

I’m not quite getting why he bothered appointing Linda McMahan to this role. If he wants to close it, why not simply fire everybody, appoint nobody and ask Congress to pass a vote sending it all to the states? Let every state manage it, decentralizing it even further if they so wished
If it takes Congress to shut down departments, let them vote on this! The Dems could have a choice of either voting for Linda McMahan or for closing down the depaortment altogether
On a different note, I do hope the Supreme Court intervenes in all these cases of bureaucrats being offered buyouts and says that POTUS has that authority, so that the slowdown that these rogue judges are trying is put to an end

One only has to remember that the elite and wealthy send their children to private schools. That gives their children an advantage over the average families. So why would they change the system and make competition harder for their families?
