Trump Administration Wants to Resettle Gazans in Somalia

The Trump administration is considering three potential areas for the absorption of refugee Gazans after President Donald Trump announced that the US plans to take over the Gaza Strip and relocate those currently there to rebuild the area, N12 reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the areas being considered are Morocco, Puntland, and Somaliland.

The report noted that what these three countries share in common is a strong need for US support, as Somaliland and Puntland seek international recognition, and Morocco has an ongoing territorial dispute over Western Sahara.

Somaliland has been looking for recognition as an independent country. There were early reports that the Trump admin might recognize Somaliland. And the prospect of that is what keeps Rep. Ilhan Omar up at night.

Somalia and its various regional Islamist allies have been maneuvering hard to block efforts by Somaliland to build relationships with other countries. After heading off efforts for a deal between Somaliland and Ethiopia, the Somalis have been confronted with growing Republican support for Someliland.

The case for recognizing Somaliland is straightforward. It’s been a de facto independent country for 30 years and the idea that there is any ‘united’ Somalia as a country is mostly a myth anyway.

Puntland is more of a mixed Somali breakaway province, like Somaliland there are clan politics at work here. The Trump administration recently carried out air strikes targeting ISIS in Puntland. So there is a relationship.

Both Somaliland and Puntland combined have a population of about 10 million, so I don’t know how many Gazans they could take, but trading U.S. recognition for Gazans is interesting out-of-the-box thinking.

And I can’t think of anything that would make Rep. Ilhan Omar madder.

      Do you have a suggestion for a better place to move the Gazan Arab terror problem?

      • Two small islands in Alaska–one for the boys and men, the other for the girls and women. Without sex, they will disappear in 50 to 70 years.

        • The bear living on those islands will appreciate the introduction of fast food.

        • Even on small islands in Alaska, I don’t think we want them in the US.

        • Why move them to any non-muslim territory in the first place? Those breakaway provinces in Somalia, or that annexed area of Morocco are fine places for them

    • Maybe, but for Somalia, it’ll be an improvement. Also, the next time Ilhan and Rashida want to visit Palestine, they can visit Somalia instead and meet all the Palestinians they want

      • Didn’t the germans call it lebensraum? There’s plenty of desert already, which palestinians seem to enjoy, and there’s all kinds of room for ’em to dig their tunnels. They can even fight with the local warlords.

        • Somaliland and Puntland are not desert: they are semi-arid. The people there are muslims, so will know how to handle them. However, if Trump can get Morocco to agree to them settling in Western Sahara, then they’ll get their desert, and what’s more, they’re even farther away from Israel. Even Iranian missiles won’t reach Israel from there

          I’m not sure how people would live in the middle of deserts, away from water sources. If you look at a map, most of Sahara is uninhabited, as well as most of Arabia, Jordan… Those desert countries only have a population near their coastline

    • Yes, but Somalia and that area are already Muslim stink-holes and you’ve got these worthless Gazans out of Gaza, away from Israel, and when in that part of the world they misbehave every now and then you can just bomb the hell out of them – while they for sport continue bombing the hell out of each other. The only other place I think would be good for the Gazans is the Sahara Desert.

    • Somalia is not on Israel’s border. That makes it quite a bit better right there.

      • Precisely!! I liked Trump’s proposal, but not Jordan or Egypt for precisely that reason: they would still be in a position to attack Israel. From Puntland or the annexed Moroccan area of Western Sahara, it would be a lot harder. The Houthis managed it somewhat w/ Iranian missiles, but in return for recognition, Trump can require the non-Pali authorities at Puntland or Somaliland to not allow the Palis to launch attacks on Israel. If the US gets bases there to counteract the Chicom base at Djibouti, then even US troops can ensure that it doesn’t happen

  2. The snake who represents somalia in the House of Congress, should be sent along so she can ‘represent” the gazans in the somalia government.

    • Even the low IQ Somalians don’t want the lower IQ Palestinians…what a conundrum!

      • Actually, the “Palestinians” are geniuses compared to Somalians. Average IQ “Palestinian Territories” 83; average IQ Somalia a shockingly low *66*. On the Wechsler Scale, that would make “Palestinians” “Low Average”, and Somalis “Extremely Low”.

          Another thought struck me. President el-Sisi has been supportive of the regime in Mogadishu, and so may oppose the US supporting its secession. Trump can then tell him that Mogadishu would then have to bid for his support

          Once Mogadishu and Puntland start vying for US support, that gives US the leverage, the tools being the bases at the horn of Africa, and who’d be willing to take in more Palis, not just from Gaza, but also from Judea, Samaria as well as Israeli muslims who support the “Joint List” in sabotaging Israel. Everybody should be deported there, in exchange for the US recognizing either a united Somalia, or a fragmented one, depending on the bids

          Once all that is cleared, Israel can re-annex Judea and Samaria, while giving Gaza to Trump to do whatever he’s thinking (I have no idea, since I don’t know the first thing about real estate, and struggled to understand buying a house in this country years ago)

      • yes, and she already has relatives in the government there. and there would be no new issues with her clothing….except she’d not longer dress in such colorful things.

    • Maybe Trump can make her the ambassador to Palestine and send her to wherever in Somalia the Palis are moved. While at it, make Rashida the ambassador to Mogadishu

      • Actually, looking at it again, I’d prefer Puntland. It’s the horn of Africa tip b/w Somaliland and rest of Somalia. So put them there, along w/ all Palis from Judea and Samaria, and then continue w/ the Gaza cleanup

        Somaliland seems to be somewhat better than Somalia, so not sure I wanna dump the Palis there. Best part of this is that since this is being done recognizing them as separate from Somalia, the Mogadishu regime doesn’t get a say in it, unlike Gen Sisi or King Abdullah

        Also, Somalia likes to think of itself as an Arab country, so they should welcome real Arabs into their country

  4. Another brilliant example of Trump thinking outside the box while at the same time exposing the hypocrisy of so many others—like that fifth columnist within, Omar. I mean why shouldn’t Somali Muslims want to help out fellow Muslims? Could it be that the Muslim world is not as generous to other Muslims nearly as much as Western nations have been generous to Muslims?

    The plot grows thicker and thicker and the weaver of the plot is once again someone like no one else in the world, one Donald Trump. Thank God this man became the next President after the debacle and buffoon who preceded him rather than the cackling nothing that the pathetic Democratic Party had as its candidate.

    • Not just that, Somalia is a member of the Arab League, even though it’s not clear that Somalis are Arabs. The language Ilhan Omar was speaking when she was advising her people how to avoid answering questions from law enforcement – that language was not Arabic, but Somali. So shouldn’t Somalia want to have real Arabs in its population to demonstrate its Arab bonafides?

      They should take in the entire Palestinian population, as well as some Israeli Arab Muslims, and become more Arabic

      Trump can send Rashida Tlaib as ambassador to Mogadishu and Ilhan Omar as ambassador to the Palestinian republic/sultanate of Puntland

  6. Best idea so far! Better than Jordan or Egypt or Saudi Arabia. I do hope he settles them there, over their objections, maybe even tossing in tariffs (not sure what we import from Somalia in the first place!), and empties out both Gaza as well as Judea & Samaria

      • Aside from the astonishing anti-Jihadist Ayaan Hirsi Ali, terrorism has been Somalia’s only real export…

      • In that case, Trump can’t use tariffs as a stick to beat them, the way he can Colombians, Mexicans and Canadians. So his only leverage would be playing Mogadishu against Somaliland and Puntland. Would Mogadishu be okay w/ Trump recognizing those 2? If not, agree to take in all Palis

  7. There’s already precedence for relocating the residents of Gaza, who are not “Palestinian” since that is just a phony mask worn by the Iraqi, Egyptian, and other Arab intruders. In the idiotic days of “land for peace” (remember that fable?) Jews were forcibly “cleansed”, abandoning homes and villages and businesses they had built up over decades (in the name of “peace” of course).
    Now, it’s the Gazans’ time to be relocated, as the Jews were, except this time it will actually produce peace.

      Even if Hamas is eliminated, the Palis would still have Fatah/al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Pali islamic jihad, who can take their place & wage war against al Shabaab

      Although checking Wiki and looking at a map, al-Shabaab seems to mainly operate in southern Somalia, and largely absent from both Somaliland and Puntland

  9. How many unpopulated Islands out there where the Gazans could make a home, no docks, no boats, just let them learn how to fish.

    • No need to make those unpopulated islands islamic. Just put them in places like Somalia or Western Sahara, and let them figure it out on their own

  10. The Gaza muslims had it all in the palm of their hand. Beachfront property with lots of Western development on the Mediterranean. What did they do with that? They they built rat tunnels, they put weapons in schools and hospitals, they continued to attack Israel. Israel, the country that tried to make life easier for them even though they deserved no help at all. They had all the help they needed and more from USAID.

    And now, there is talk of shipping them off to Somalia. I find that kind of funny even though for them it wont be.

    • Problem is that Palis are taught from school to hate Jews. Which is why this issue is not just in Gaza, but also Judea and Samaria. End result is that they grow up w/ no marketable skills aside from terrorism

      Also, to be fair to other Arab countries who don’t want them, they are ingrates as well. In the 70s, they tried to overthrow King Hussein of Jordan. In the 80s, first they, and later Hizbullah, trashed Lebanon. In the 90s, despite being sheltered in Kuwait, when Saddam Hussein invaded that country, they cheered him on, so that when Kuwait was liberated, they were understandably kicked out. When other Arabs had such issues w/ them, how reasonable was it ever to expect the Israelis to put up w/ them?

      Somalia is the right place, since that would be a real downgrade, so that they’d have to figure things out on their own. Either that, or the Western Sahara annexed area of Morocco. In return for Trump recognizing that annexation, they can put up some Palis there, maybe to reinforce their own rule or to fight Polisario, which is secular but communist

      • Somalia has the longest coastline in continental Africa and an extensive Exclusive Economic Zone. Their EEZ, primarily for fishing which is Somalia’s number one asset. Illegal fishing costs Somalia an estimated $300 million annually. How much money is brought in to Somalia each year is somewhat unclear. Analysts say that Somalia has the potential to generate 2 billion annually.

        The Gaza miscreants would have to start working in a real job and fishing boats would be a primary source of making a living. Of course, if they caused any problems on the boats they could always be tossed overboard. There is not only gobs of fish in that zone there are lots of sharks there too.

  12. I think it is a great idea. Gazan women can have their 51/2 children and they can grow up to be appreciative of what Africa has to offer. Just look at what Islam is doing in Nigeria, Niger, Uganda, Kenya , Congo , Mali etc and so on. They would be right at home there and they would not have to worry about the Jews.
