He died, along with many others, to wake us up.
Salwan Momika, an Assyrian Catholic refugee from Iraq, was murdered in Sweden by Muslim terrorists.
Momika, like many dissidents, knew that the track he was following by protesting against Islam would lead to his death. “I know very well that Muslims will kill me one day, but I am not afraid and I will not back down from my principles and defending Sweden and the West, and I am ready to pay the price for that,” he wrote.
Before his murder, the Swedish justice system had dragged Momika through a trial for burning Korans. That trial likely helped bring him to the attention of his killers and led directly to his murders.
Even though Momika had come from Iraq, he was accused of racism and put on trial. This was likely done to silence him and appease Sweden’s growing violent Muslim colonial population and the Islamic terrorist state of Turkey.
In death, the media covered him by implying he was a bigot.
The Washington Post whose infamous obituary for the Caliph of ISIS described him as an “austere religious scholar” dismissed Momika as an “Iraqi at the center of Koran burnings shot dead before court verdict” while the New York Times headlined its story “Salwan Momika, Man Behind Quran Burning in Sweden, Is Killed”.
Media outlets tend to cover Koran-burning protests as acts of hate. And that’s one way to look at them. Most people believe that other people’s holy books shouldn’t be burned and that’s a reasonable position. Burning those books seems like an act of hate.
But Momika was burning the Koran to draw attention to exactly what happened to him. Muslims call their terrorists ‘martyrs’, but Momika was an actual martyr willing to die to warn the West of what was coming.
He died, along with many others, to wake us up.
The tension at the heart of Koran burning is that religion within Islam is not a private matter, it is a matter of inflexible theocracy that demands the murder and enslavement of non-Muslims, the suppression of women and every evil we see from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan to Iran to Afghanistan.
Burn a Bible and Christians and Jews will be outraged, but they won’t kill you. Muslims will kill you for burning a Koran, but not just burning a Koran. The list of things they will kill you for is as long as the texts of Islamic Sharia law. That is the hard unhappy reality the West is up against.
As a refugee from an Islamic theocracy, Salwan Momika, like dissidents the world over, burned the Koran to be free even knowing, as many in Iran do, that doing so would likely cost him his life. Burning Korans, like women in Iran removing hijabs, is not an act of hate, it is a love of freedom. In those flames, they defy tyranny and declare that they would rather die as free men and women than live as miserable slaves of Allah.
Salwan Momika’s protests were flames of freedom. His death is another desperate warning that the time is drawing near where we will all have to choose between freedom and slavery.

He was a brave man, willing to put his faith to the test; willing to tell the Truth, knowing he would pay the ultimate price for his Lord and Savior.
Christians know that freedom of speech comes from our Creator. And as does life, so will a resurrection.
The media use their freedom of speech to put the blame for this man’s death on him, proving once again that they do not value the Truth. And that they are in fear of the very people who murdered him.
St Croix says
My goodness! The ones who killed him SHOT him? You mean, they had–GUNS? That means they had to obtain a permit. What did they give as the reason for obtaining a firearm? Or, is it possible that with all the gun controls, they are still able to obtain GUNS?!
Sad to hear of this incident. And to rub salt into the wound, the coverage in the media is what we might expect–extremely biased against this brave man, Salwan Momika. He knew what he was up against. Courage is a virtue, and cowards will not inherit the Kingdom of God, that’s what the Bible says, you can look it up for yourself.
May we be inspired to be brave, and rely on the Lord in the hour of treachery, enduring to the end what may come to each of us. Maranatha!

A few years ago there was an article that was quickly buried. Police caught a van carrying about 800 shotguns in Italy heading for Belgium coming from Turkey.

If you want to have a nightmare think about how many of those vans may have already arrived in the various european countries carrying a load of death.

I hate that this man was murdered, and yes, technically we should be respectful of all religious texts (and of course not kill anyone who isn’t).
But honestly… would any of us really encourage our kids to go out and burn a Quran?
I have massive issues with respecting Muslims (think their religion is just downright demonic and they don’t belong in any Western culture for the most part).
But… is it WISE to do something as inflammatory as this to an unhinged people? Of course I feel for this man and wish he hadn’t been murdered, I think I take issue with the fact you’re saying Quran burning is important somehow.
I don’t think God would want us to do this to them. I really don’t. I think it’s disrespectful of their awful religion and goes against ALL the Proverbs warning not to do things like that… going out of our way to provoke mentally ill or evil people and get their eyes on us or attention on us.
Normally I 100% agree with everything Daniel writes and has read for over a decade, just not with this one thing on the, “importance,” of Quran burning.
I think if we have any chance to actually convert any of these demonic idiots, acting respectfully toward them is the first step.

So you are fine with Muslims murdering this man for daring to practice freedom of speech–how *dare* any Infidel practice any such thing? Surely, you can’t Infidels practice any such thing!
And why should any Infidel have to respect Islam? Just because they will murder you if you do not kowtow to Islam? Surely you have no problem with this?
And if you continue to kowtow to Islam, how far will you go? You will not protect anyone who dares protest the savagery of Islam. And surely supporting our own values is “unwise”–including anyone supporting being able to criticize the savagery of Islam?
And *of course* being able to criticize Islam–including being able to rape children and slaughter Infidels–is key to our maintaining our civilized values. But instead, you side with the murderers. Just appalling.
And you seem to be fine with Muslims killing people–but are appalled that God would be upset with our daring to so much as oppose Muslims murdering Infidels.
What is it, exactly, that believe God is upset by our not respecting the horrors of Islam? So murder is fine–but failing to respect murder *is not*.
Then, Proverbs tells us not to join with those who murder innocents “For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.” Is *that* urging the Jews and Christians to respect murderous thugs? Seems that you think so…you must be reading a different Bible…
Where does Proverbs say that you have to respect evil? Citations, please,

David Wood, while discussing qur’an burnings often, has made the case on “This week in jihad” on a few occasions. He agrees w/ you that burning a qur’an is not what he normally advocates, and Robert here has written a qur’an. Instead, he wants people to read the qur’an, know what’s in it, and then act accordingly
However, when there are jihadist thugs threatening violence, including murder, of people who desecrate the qur’an, then at that point, desecrating the qur’an is a must! Whether it’s by burning it, using it to clean excrement or anything else. The strategy being that when it becomes epidemic, muslims can’t do much about it. For instance, in the 24 hours after Momika’s death, there have been some 10,000 qur’ans that have been incinerated. Will muslims be able to hunt every one of them down?
Reason for this is that if we don’t, then it’ll look like we’re bending to threats from jihadists and not burning them out of fear of jihadists, rather than any of our own decent impulses we might have, such as yours. In the meantime, other people very happily burn bibles, Manu Smritis and so on, w/o inviting any violent reactions. Such a disparity creates an environment where islam is left w/ an advantage via a vis other faiths, purely due to its intimidatory tactics
I understand what you are saying from a plain decency standpoint, but we’re not dealing w/ a decent population here. I know it’s hard to digest, given that we’re talking about 1.8 billion people here, but that doesn’t make them decent. If we don’t stand up to them now, we’ll be in a far worse position to take on them when their numbers grow even more, to the point that they come to power

Yes, very good, valid, points.

All good points.
I would recommend reading the Koran critically – before burning it.

I just think… this man courted his own death.
He wanted to die in this fashion.
It isn’t really as pure-hearted or admirable as being martyred for your faith unprovoked, he courted this through being inflammatory… and unwise… and unkind and disrespectful….
I feel sorry for him of course, but definitely don’t see him as heroic.

You make it sound as if this poor man in practicing freedom of speech deserved to die for not respecting a creed wanting to murder him. What, exactly, do your consider worthy of respect here? I’m waiting…
Clearly, you don’t consider his protecting our values to be of any use–and you will not do the same, so intent are you onshowing your “resepect” for rape and murder.
What do you find murder to be so worthy of respect?
Again, you consider opposing evil to be “unkind”but do not consider opposing such evil to be in any way good. What else do you consider worthy of respect? Raping children? Crushing freedom of speech? Mudering unthreatening people?
And what *do* you consider worthy of respect? Only supporting evil, it seems.

the brave man was from iraq…where Christians are being persecuted and murdered…just for being Christian
He fled for his life….and wanted to demonstrate the dangers to everyone when mozlums are in the positions of power as they are in Iraq, iran, afghanistan, pakistan.
For some reason, your words read very “islamic.”

If you are what you claim to be, you should recall easily what Jesus said to those who wanted to kill Him, “You are from your father the devil and you wish to do the desires of your father.”
‘How are you to flee the Judgment of Gehenna?”
“Serpents. offspring of vipers; unwashed cups full of uncleanness; whitewashed graves full of dead men’s bones.”
Christians are commanded to copy Jesus.

The one thing to take slight comfort, while grieving for Momika: yesterday, on @X, I read that some tens of thousands of qur’ans worldwide have been torched by people from various countries paying homage to Momika. Just one thing: they should film it and post it everywhere – X, Rumble, Gab, Gettr, Truth Social, et al, and let mohammedans bellyache over it
Looks like more people are following David Wood’s recommendations, even if they may have never heard of him, let alone see him
Westman says
“Hear no evil, say no evil, speak no evil”, in a world of approaching evil will spell the end of European culture. Van Der Leyen will wiggle her cute little nose while urging the EU on with a war that NATO is losing, Rutte will ignore what he already learned about Islam in the Netherlands, and the EU train will run on into the unknown night, its passengers sheltering a Quran they never read.
Diversity first killed the culture of Rome and then, Rome itself. Same for the British Empire which though it could rule various cultures without a high cost to itself. The EU will eventually be like those, a scrapple of its former self flirting with foreign intrigues while it bleeds at home. Islam only needs to wait for the spoils.

Thank you so much for that link, JJ–both Salwan Momika and Tommy Robbinson are brave, brave men–or Momika *was* before being murdered in Sweden even *before* being deported back to Dar-al-Islam. Will Sweden even bother to track down this hero’s murderers?

They had arrested, and later released him, according to the article 2 stories ago. So we already know the answer

The Swedish police admit that have lost control. It seems like they have no clue and/or are handcuffed by their liberal government. The only solution is to follow Trump’s example. He is showing the way. They know who the bad actors are. Round them up and deport them. Unfortunately, it won’t happen until the Sweden Democrats are in power.
