What’s the big deal? Before too long, the restaurants in London will all be shutting for the 30 days of Ramadan as well.

Like a pride of lions, lying about after a kill and feasting, Islam invented a system of prayers and responsibilities to keep the warriors busy between sacking villages and “ingesting” the booty. That system, now that the Western world “villages” can stop any large-scale Islamic aggression, is an economic drag on Islamic nations that keeps those without fossil fuels, poor, and fighting among themselves
I guess we should be thankful that Nationalized Islam has largely harnessed itself to be a poor, unproductive competitor in a complex world. It’s the few with unearned natural wealth that are the most dangerous, like Iran.

Memo to @GrecoLevantines: I wouldn’t equate Turkey w/ UAE. UAE has 2 sets of laws – shariah for muslims, non-shariah civil laws for non-muslims. I have heard that there is even a pork restaurant in Dubai: only catch is that muslims may not dine there. Turkey is pretty different, w/ shariah on everyone, but yeah, they probably haven’t gone as far as HTS has
I can see the Arab bloc being split b/w pro-Turkish forces, like muslim brotherhood/Hamas, Palestinians, Qatar, Somalia, Algeria, GNA Libya and of course HTS Syria, opposed to Arab regimes like Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Bahrein, Haftar’s Libya, Morocco,…. It will be interesting to see whether the latter manages to win back Egypt to their side

Syria will be a nation like Iran – violent and oppressive. They’re just doing it slowly. They are all crafty invaders and do not want the west to cut off their aid. Watch and see..and never trust any of them!

Anyone know what happens to the capital of Syria, Damascus one day?

I figure that only a nuke bomb could only do that. If anyone could look at that city, on say, a program such as Google Earth, you would be awestruck, on how large that city is!
And if we see that happen in all of our lifetimes, we could say then, that one bible prophecy has come true, so everything else written in such places such as the last book of the bible, Revelation, will also be true.
