South Africa is increasingly defining itself internationally as a rogue state, so it isn’t surprising that it would align itself with Iran. It presented its latest move toward partnering with Iran and Russia as a necessity:
Samson Gwede Mantashe, South Africa’s minister of mineral resources and energy and a strong advocate for nuclear power expansion, stated, “We cannot have a contract that excludes Iran or Russia from bidding. We cannot impose such conditions.”
But South Africa once had a nuclear energy agreement with the US. It has now shifted its focus to Iran and Russia.
Trump signed an executive order on February 10 that accused South Africa of ties with Iran for commercial, military, and nuclear arrangements. Trump threatened to cut “foreign aid or assistance to the country.” As well he should. America should end the practice of empowering enemies, as should all free societies.
South Africa led the charge against the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel, going so far as to invoke its so-called “obligation to prevent genocide” as a signatory to the United Nations Genocide Convention.
The gloves are now off, as those who are aligned with the red-green axis become increasingly brazen. Unfortunately, the West is now fully infiltrated by operatives of the red-green axis, and governed by treasonous state actors who encourage enemies of freedom.

South Africa would consider partnering with Russia or Iran for expanding its civilian nuclear power capacity, a move that could further strain relations with the US and delay the renewal of a strategic energy agreement.
“We can’t have a contract that says Iran or Russia must not bid, we can’t have that condition,” said Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources Gwede Mantashe, a leading government advocate for expanding the country’s nuclear capacity.
“If they are the best offer on the table, we’ll take any [country],” he told Reuters.
South Africa is looking to add 2,500 megawatts of new nuclear capacity, building on its existing Koeberg plant, the only nuclear power plant in Africa, to address electricity outages that have hampered the economy.
The comments from a senior South African government minister came after US President Donald Trump earlier this month signed an executive order to “halt foreign aid or assistance” to South Africa partly in response to the country’s anti-Israel stance, including its case at the United Nations’ top court accusing the Jewish state of committing genocide in Gaza.
Trump’s order was also a response to South Africa’s new land expropriation law, which the US argues discriminates against Afrikaners, a minority South African ethnic group of European descent.….

Really there was no large scale farming going on before the Europeans landed in South Africa .Alot of native tribes killing and enslaving each other (outside tribes moved there ) after the Europeans brought modern industry to the country the Europeans brought the first world there.. The old apartheid system was bad ,but the new genocide communist running the current government are worse ,.The economy is in the crapper ,crime is out of control and it is not the Boer farmers fault for current state of SA and it not Israel responsible for it either. It is a rich country run by violent communist that openly call for killing skilled Asian tradesmen in the cities and white farmers in the countryside .I am sure the current government would be happy to get pennies on the dollar to sell mineral rights to the Russians if they get sizable kick backs in their personal of shore accounts.

Please! The were very few indigenous tribes living in South Africa when the first European and Indian settlers arrived. Most of them got along quite well with the new arrivals given the benefits from agriculture being started in that area of the Continent for the first time. When the Zulus from the North caught wind of the booming agriculture-based economy taking place in South Africa, they promptly invaded. They were repelled but never left the country, and never stopped committing acts of terrorism. Which is why Apartheid was initiated to keep them separated from the settlers.

The Boers got the land just like other white pioneers did in other countries, but in South Africa’s case between 1815 and 1830 Shaka’s Zulus conducted the genocide called the Mfecane. Between 1 1/2 and 2 million black people were murdered and central South Africa was largely denuded of human life. The missionary, Robert Moffat was witness to this. Much of that denuded land is what pioneers, the voortrekkers, found. Then for no good reason the blacks murdered hundreds or thousands of white people who posed no threat, but got murdered anyway. The white people then fought back and the British army did the rest by defeating the Zulus.
Israel did not support apartheid, but when it was ostracized internationally and South Africa was being punished and isolated over apartheid, they co-operated in various ways.
I don’t believe your story of 90% of your mother’s family being murdered. I opposed apartheid and for ten years, 1977 to 1987, in newspapers spoke out against it. For doing that for 8 years I lived under surveillance of the Bureau for State Security police, but for all their lousy policies the government did not get police or army to go around murdering thousands of black people – but now under useless black rule the country has about 85 murders daily.
Other facts are that the white government gave Transkei entirely to black people to rule and live in – and after decades they had not built one grain elevator or done much development. I guess they wanted the white people to do that .

Thank you for the history lesson ,I guess much like Cuba that has stagnated from 1958 till now under communist rule South Africa faces a similar threat. When all the educated people and ,people with skills leave or try to leave a communist country you are left tribal violent rulers who see the remaining people as subjects to be ruled with an iron fist. The Boers took vacant waste land and grew large family farms ,the British brought order to a violent tribal society and built cities and mining industry The past rulers made mistakes and where far from perfect and could be heavy handed the present rulers will bring tribal violence and build nothing ,bring no order to the country as productive people leave who can leave will.

More and more nut case countries want nuclear arms. There is bound to be the setting off of a nuclear device at sometime in the near future. Countries that cannot feed and clothe their people want the most advanced killing weapons possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if a place like Rwanda said “We need a nuclear bomb”. Sick the world is getting sicker and sicker and more understanding of jihad and Islamic murders are part and parcel of that world. We may not be moving ahead but moving backwards. Bad people should not be given any “understanding”. They need to taught a lesson in basic humanity instead. But humane behavior cannot be forced on people. They must be open to it. Muslims are not open to it. They only want to hear about victories over the infidels. That is going downhill to the swamp.

Of course I’m not in favour of murdering the white farmers and their families. SA has alliances with many countries but mostly with China. So what? It is a democracy and although the ANC has been in power since the end of Apartheid they do have elections every 5 years and no President can hold office for more than two terms. At present it’s a minority gov’t.
I may not agree with their politics but so what? I don’t like the political stands of lots of countries.

Oh of course, the country is run on Christian lines so everything is just marvellous – with massive corruption, massive crime, about 85 murders daily, car thefts out of this world, car high-jackings, rapes at world champion levels, and you don’t want to stop at a red traffic light (a robot) at night, so you slow down, look around and if all clear shoot through or turn whichever way you can.

The Koeberg plant is powered by pressurized water reactors of French design. France generates over 70% of its electricity from nuclear energy, and they have an impressive safety record with only a few scattered minor incidents since the 1980s when they began the big push to go nuclear.
But, you are correct! I would not trust the current South Africans with the operation of a nuclear plant. It will run itself for a while, but maintenance issues then crop up and I’m sure that they will be neglected.
With respect to partnering with Russia and Iran, SA has among the largest yellowcake (uranium ore, not the tasty edible cake) reserves in the world. Iran already has extensive centrifuge farms hidden deep underground in Fordow and Natanz, but their refinement operation appears to be for making an arsenal of nuclear weapons rather than for generating electricity. Their vast oil reserves make for the cheapest gasoline in the world as well as among the cheapest electric prices. They don’t need nuclear power generation.
