In his memo to the Palestinian Arabs, “Dear Palestinians: Statehood Is Not a Right | Opinion,” Newsweek, the Jews will not let the West Bank and Gaza Palestinians be citizens.”
The Israelis will not let the “West Bank and Gaza Palestinians become citizens” for a simple reason: Arabs in Israel would then number five million, that is, constitute a threatening 40% of the population. What Israel is prepared to do is to allow the Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria — the fate of Gaza is now, obviously, very much up in the air — to have as much autonomy as is consonant with Israel’s security. As Prime Minister Netanyahu has put it, “I’m certainly willing to have them [the Palestinian Arabs] have all the powers that they need to govern themselves, but none of the powers that can threaten us.”
According to studies, there are over 10,000 identifiable ethnic, linguistic, cultural, and religious groups in the world (and according to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, indigenous peoples alone account for approximately 5,000 distinct cultures). Many of them far more distinctive than the Palestinians, who are scarcely different from Sunni Lebanese or Syrians (indeed, until the creation of Israel there was no reference to a Palestinian people, any more than there was a Jordanian people)….
In fact, the “Palestinian people” were invented not in 1948, as Dan Perry seems to think, but in the mid-1960s, at the suggestion of the KGB. Instead of a gang-up of 20-odd Arab states against tiny Israel, the conflict would now be presented as one between “two peoples — the “Palestinians” and the Israelis.”
The Arabs, who are the people most richly endowed with states — there are 22 members of the Arab League — now want a 23rd state that would either take the place of the single Jewish state “from the river to the sea,” or would become a base for a future Arab assault on Israel, that would have been much diminished in size by the creation of that Arab entity, and consequently, hellishly difficult to defend.
The Arabs themselves deny all non-Arab peoples in their countries not only independence, but any kind of local autonomy. Thus in Syria and Iraq, the Kurds have been persecuted by Arabs, especially by Saddam Hussein, who killed 182,000 Kurds in his Al-Anfal campaign, using chemical weapons in Halabja. He then moved Arabs into formerly Kurdish areas in order to “arabize” them. The Arabs in Algeria and Morocco deny their large Berber minorities any autonomy; in Algeria they have in the past even been forbidden to use Tamazight, the Berber language, and there has been an attempt to convince Berbers that they are, in fact, Arabs.
The Palestinian Arabs were given many chances for a state of their own: in 1936, in 1948, in 2000, in 2008, and in every case they turned the offer down flat. Sixty-nine percent of Israeli Jews no longer believe in a “two-state solution.” They have been chastened by the atrocities carried out by Hamas on October 7, and the delight expressed by other Palestinian Arabs, and antisemites around the globe, in that spectacle of mass rape, torture, mutilation, and murder of 1,200 Israelis. This change in Israel’s view has not yet been absorbed by those who deal with foreign policy in Washington, London, Paris, Berlin, and Rome, or at the UN. They continue to believe, or claim to, in “the two-state solution.” But Israelis are never going to agree to be squeezed back within the 1949 armistice lines, that Abba Eban termed “the lines of Auschwitz.”
The Arabs have no need of a 23rd state; the Israelis do have a right to hold onto Judea and Samaria, territory that was intended to become part of the future Jewish state by the League of Nations, when it carved out, from the lands that were formerly part of the Ottoman Empire, the territory that was to be included in the Mandate for Palestine.

They have proved over 1400 years of wretched history that they are not deserving of one square metre more of territory. The Palis of Judea and Samaria should, like the Palis of Gaza, move out of there to one of the Arab countries willing to take them, like Western Sahara or Somalia, and Israel should annex Judea and Samaria, and give Gaza to the US for the “international people” to live (I’m thinking the globalists of the EU, US and Canada)
After that, if the new Arab countries where they are settled are willing to let them secede and declare a 23rd state, let them. But not anywhere within Israeli territory or even in the Sinai

There is already a Muslim state from the British Mandate for Palstine–Jordan, and it is much larger than is Israel. Why should Israel give up yet more of her land to thugs whose charters contain the full destruction of her nation and slaughter of her people?
