By releasing these men, the Swedish government shows yet again that it is not interested in the slightest degree in protecting the freedom of expression. It is not even particularly concerned about prosecuting the murderers of a man who had the temerity to violate Sharia blasphemy laws by burning the Qur’an. As a free society, Sweden is even more finished than Britain.
“Sweden releases suspects held in killing of anti-Islam campaigner,” Reuters, January 31, 2025 (thanks to Lookmann):
HELSINKI (Reuters) – A Swedish prosecutor said on Friday he had decided to release from detention five suspects who were held over the killing on Wednesday of an anti-Islam campaigner.
Salwan Momika, 38, an Iraqi refugee who had burned the Koran in public on several occasions, was shot dead in a house in Sodertalje town near Stockholm, and Sweden’s prime minister on Thursday said the killing could be linked to a foreign power.
While five suspects were initially apprehended by police, the suspicion against them had weakened as the investigation progressed, Senior Prosecutor Rasmus Oman said in a statement on Friday.
The five were, however, still subject to further investigation, Oman said….
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in 2023 that people who desecrate the Koran should face the “most severe punishment” and that Sweden had “gone into battle-array for war on the Muslim world” by supporting those responsible.

Is this another example of cuddling terrorism by weak willed Europeans of which Sweden is a prime example? Or is it a fear of Muslims by Sweden proving that the great Viking nation has turned into one of cowards? What was the reason these Muslims were arrested in the first place? What evidence exists? Were eye witness accounts withdrawn after they were threatened by Muslim hit squads? It is an insult to the rule of law in a nation that seemingly believed in that concept until it was faced with a fanatic Muslim murder inspired by their “holy” book. And I am sure that whatever Swedish state benefits that existed before the murder of Salwan Momika will not be held up by a single day.
Mr. Momika himself was obviously a victim of Islamic persecution in his own country of Iraq as he was forced into seeking a more safe country to escape to and choose Sweden. Was he so wrong about what Sweden pretended to be? A Western nation that observed the rights and the protection of all those who live there?
Of all the possible reactions to Islamic hate and hysteria, allowing those arrested for murder to be released into freedom while a man who thought he had the same right was gravely mistaken. By the way were those freed greeted enthusiastically by a Muslim crowd? If so, then truly Iraq has come to Sweden as a victorious invader.

Sickening. There is nothing to prevent these mozlums from fleeing the country if they believe they may ever be arrested again. Which is not likely….that they will face a jury.
The Swede prosecutor must have a fear of iran…or islam as a whole.

Sweden used to be the best place in the world, very strong socialist/ welfare place, so presumably why persons from hot countries made towards it, benefits aplenty. All for nothing as it were and a long time ago, Stockholm became the Rape capital of the world. You know who are the destroyers of non Muslim countries. The sooner they get kicked out the better. France and Germany are waking up re the dangers.

Sweden now seems even less safe for non-muslims than many muslim countries themselves. Some countries, like Uzbekistan or Tajikistan would be safer for non-muslims than Sweden is

Infidel,
Spend some time in Bahrain while active-duty Navy in the mid-1990s.
Seemed “pretty safe” for non-muslims.
Not sure how it is now…

Weirdly enough, it seems that it’s still good. Although the ruling family is Wahabi sunni, the majority of the population is Twelver shi’a. As a result, even though the country is officially islamic, the Hanafas have been careful not to spell out what that exactly means – whether it’s Hanbali or Ja’afari
A few years ago, I read a news story about how a Bahreini woman in an ethnic store started breaking idols of Hindu deities, and was later arrested. I was pretty impressed: no way would that happen in Bangladesh or Pakistan today. Nor in a lot of other islamic countries
On top of that, Bahrein was also one of the first two signatories of the Abraham Accords, and that too, w/o much resistance from its population. Although in 2023, after the October 7th attacks, Bahrein recalled its envoy and said that Israel’s envoy too had returned, w/o completely breaking off diplomatic relations. Looks like they’d need to be refreshed now that Trump has returned
