Puntland is located in the northeastern part of Somalia. The Puntland State of Somalia was established as a federal state in 1998. The main religion of Puntland is Islam:
Islam shall be the only religion of Puntland State of Somalia. No any other religion can be propagated in Puntland State, while the Islamic Religion and the traditions of the people of Puntland are the bases of law.
Nonetheless, Puntland seeks to protect its land from illegal immigrants in efforts to push back the Islamic State’s group in the region, ISIS-Somalia. “Puntland expands deportations as foreign nationals allegedly join ISIS,” Hiiraan Online, February 20, 2025:
Mogadishu (HOL) – Puntland regional President Said Abdullahi Deni has ordered a crackdown on illegal immigration following reports that dozens of foreign nationals have joined ISIS-Somalia.
Deni directed all relevant agencies to enforce immigration restrictions, adding that a new law will soon be introduced to regulate the entry of foreigners into Puntland.
Despite these measures, undocumented migrants—primarily from Ethiopia—continue to arrive in Puntland’s cities on foot.
Last month, Puntland authorities deported approximately 1,000 undocumented Ethiopians from Garowe, the regional capital, as part of a broader crackdown on illegal migration.
The regional administration has intensified efforts to remove undocumented foreigners while also escalating military operations against ISIS strongholds in the Al-Miskaat Mountains of the Bari region.
The pope is ill now, but even if he were in perfect health, he would not be attacking Puntland anytime soon with an appeal to “respect human dignity” and let in the illegal immigrants. Such accusations are only for Western countries who will never break the chains of a colonialist past, regardless of the harsh realities of the present: blacks killing blacks, Christians in Africa being persecuted by Muslims, and black slaves still being held slaves by Arabs in Mauritania, Libya, Algeria and Sudan. Then there is also the fact that illegal immigration is a “multi-billion-dollar international business controlled by organized crime,” and offers a massive financial benefit to leftist charities such as FEMA, as well as to various Catholic charities.
Puntland appears to be a stop for many migrants on their way to Europe:
Protracted conflict, violence, natural disasters and economic pressures have led to significant numbers of Somalis moving within and out of the country; other migrants pass through Somaliland and Puntland en route to the Middle East or Europe; while yet others are fleeing to Somaliland and Puntland from conflicts.
Puntland is also a main center for the expanding ISIS-Somalia as the jihad group fights its rival al-Shabaab; that is why Puntland its now protecting its borders. ISIS-Somalia leader Sheikh Abdulqadir Mumin was born and lives in the Puntland region. He is elusive, surviving a U.S. strike in May. According to France 24, Sheikh Mumin lived in Sweden “before settling in England, where he acquired British nationality”:
In London and Leicester, he built a reputation in the early 2000s as a fiery preacher in radical mosques, but also in online videos.
He is said to have burned his British passport upon his arrival in Somalia, where he quickly became a propagandist for the Al-Shabaab group, linked to Al-Qaeda, before announcing his defection to IS in 2015.
“He controls a small territory but has a big appeal….Mumin also finances the Ugandan rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) — affiliated with IS in the Democratic Republic of Congo — “who now number between 1,000 and 1,500,” the official said. With Mumin’s help, “they have recently turned to the jihad” seeking “radicalism, weapons, and funding”.
Some observers have described him as the caliph of the jihadist command structure.
Imagine the doctrine that he spread while living in London and Leicester, as well as in Sweden. Those Sharia-adherent Muslims who supported him from these locations are dangerous, but leftists play straight into their hands by supporting immigration no matter what.

It remains baffling how anyone could possibly not see the dangers inherent in open-door, unvetted immigration and investigate what’s being preached in mosques.
