King Abdullah isn’t only collaborating with jihad terror leader Abu Mohammad al-Jolani (who is now going by the name Ahmed al-Sharaa); he’s also condemning Israeli strikes on military targets that took place during the regime of Bashar al-Assad. These military installations now pose a threat to Israel, as jihad groups can readily use them against the Jewish state.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel will not allow Syrian forces led by al-Sharaa to “enter the area south of Damascus,” and that the IDF intends to stay indefinitely in parts of southern Syria. In fact, Netanyahu “has demanded the complete demilitarisation of much of southern Syria.” Netanyahu has also stated that he “will not tolerate any threat to the Druze community in southern Syria.”
Jordan and Syria are tightening relations on issues beyond their border. The Middle East Eye reported weeks ago, that Jordan is ready for war with Israel if Palestinians are expelled into its territory. As for Syria, Al-Sharaa has called Trump’s Gaza plan “a very huge crime that cannot happen.” Tensions are building quickly between Israel, Jordan and its other Arab neighbors.

Will either country take in Gaza Moslem brother “refugees” ? Or is that the job of the Americas and western Europe in the near future ? I am sure both of these “fine” leaders in the Islam world approved of the Oct 7 2023 terror attacks on Israel and support Hamas.

At this point, Jordan might as well just merge w/ Syria. The only thing preventing that: what will the Hashemites rule were that to happen?
Incidentally, in pre-WWI, under the Arabs, that entire area – Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel – were all under caliphates/sultanates based in Damascus. Under that theme, Jordan just might as well be a part of Syria
But yeah, Israel should secure the Druze in that area. Maybe even the Syrian Christians
