Even after all the displays of Hamas’ savagery we have seen, and the Islamic piety that surrounds them, the statements of Abdulaziz al-Sheikh and Ahmed al-Haddad are fooling many people today. The only “disgrace to Islam” and “shame to Islam” in Hamas’ celebration was in the fact that many people saw it and thought ill of Islam as a result. On that level, the statements of the Grand Muftis are absolutely true. However, many assume that they’re saying that Hamas’ acts were un-Islamic. Even the noted historian Simon Sebag Montefiore seems to have been taken in:

However, there was nothing un-Islamic about what Hamas did as it returned the coffins that were purportedly those of the four hostages. The unbelievers are “the most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6) and Muslims are directed to “strike terror” in them (Qur’an 8:60). How is what Hamas did not consonant with that?

Also, it is unclear whether these two Muslim clerics actually even said these things, as the X posts here are not sourced.

    • Not the biggest fan of Assad, who was quite brutal, but he *did* want to stay in power. But without Russian backing this was basically impossible, against Jihad terror groups backed by Turkey Putin was too distracted by his vicvious invasion of unthreatening Ukraine to continue to prop up Assad.

      And as bad as Assad was, you are right he was much better for minority Christians than the Jihadists who have overrun Syria now.

  4. You won’t see any tens of thousands marching muslims against what Hamas did or does…. they only appreciate ‘strength’ and you will see other clerics priming the pumps of ‘bravery’ of Hamas. Just more of the double face.

    Regardless of the shame Hamas-Palestinians bring to Islam, their behavior, alone, explains why no Muslim nation wants them.

    We have seen cheering Muslims in the streets of other Muslim nations after Hamas attacks, yet, none allow them as neighbors. One might wonder, is the brutish behavior of Hamas more informed by Islam or just intrinsic and amplified by it?

  10. Maybe the Grand Mufti and all the Muslims should actually read what is actually written in the Quran. Notice I wrote “written”. He could order Robert Spencer’s books on Islam where the Quran is allowed to explain itself. They can’t even accuse Robert of making it up lest they find themselves going against the Quran itself. There are also several native Arab speakers that point out the contradictions, mistranslations from the Arabic to other languages in order to coverup the fallacies. One of them is a Master of the Arabic language called Christian Prince. He says the Quran writes that you have to read it in Arabic in order to understand it which he does. And he also lets the Quran and the Hadiths explain themselves – nothing more. The great thing about it is that the Muslims can’t point fingers because it is simply the Quran and Hadiths explaining themselves.

    If the over one billion Muslims would let the Quran explain itself to them as mentioned in the above they would realize it is a demonic ideologue and get out of it faster than a speeding bullet. If they decide to come to Christ they should not think that people who disobey the Bible and say they are Christian define it and think that that is Christianity. They should read and learn and come to faith in the finished work of Jesus, his death and ressurection, repent and stand on that faith. Its personal and not defined by others.
