People so desperately want to believe in the goodness of Islam that they’re making up quotes.
Fake quotes by Saudi Grand Mufti Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh and the Grand Mufti of Dubai Ahmed al-Haddad condemning the Hamas treatment of the bodies of the Bibas children have gone viral.
People are promoting these quotes with the best of intentions but there is no Arabic source for them.
“What we say today in Gaza is a disgrace to Islam, an act of blasphemy against Allah,” Saudi Grand Mufti Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh reportedly said.
The social media posts claiming this racked up millions of likes. They were even quoted by a few papers which failed to do their research.
The quote has been disavowed.
The quote by Grand Mufti of Dubai Ahmed al-Haddad reportedly stated that, “Hamas has brought shame to Islam on a level never seen before.”
The quote has not been officially disavowed, but an Emirati journalist stated that he had never heard of it.
The only place the quote appears in Arabic is on a Christian Arab pro-Israel woman’s Facebook page. It should be assumed to be fake until proven otherwise.
People insisted on making up and then tweeting these fake quotes out of some hope that Islam was more merciful and decent than it is.
The problem is the merciful and decent people were the non-Muslims making up these quotes and attributing them to Muslim religious figures.
The quotes are fake until proven otherwise. People should stop spreading them and stop spreading the lie that Islam condemns what we saw in Gaza.

They didn’t *sound* real when reading them. Why would rabid mozlums condemn what their unholy, evil, filthy, demon-inspired book demand and command and promise rewards for doing?
mozlums lust to rape, dismember, abuse, and murder infidels….small babies. young people, the elderly, the infirm and they celebrate when they hear of these things being done by other mozlums.
If the clerics had said those things, it would just have been more lies upon the many lies they have already spouted.

There is no goodness in Islam. They hate themselves and consider it a virtue. When all infidels are gone, they will start killing each other.

The Hamas’s brutality of sending coffins with cheering up from the Palestinians reminds me to the incident some years ago where an Ahmadiyah killed, then the striped naked body was repeatedly beaten by a guy with some cheering up from the rest of the attackers. To add the injury, several perpetrators who were trialed only got several months in jail, even shorter than some Ahmadiyahs who were not killed. When the perpetrators released, the crowd wree waiting and cheered them up as heroes.
Islam’s insulting the deads is very common occured and no condemnation from the muslims because humiliation of non muslims are considered as good deed. If even the deads are not escaped from Islamic attrocities so no point to talk about what Islamists do to the livings.

Somebody from any media outlet should reach out to these imams and just plainly ask them whether these quotes are really theirs. Then publish whatever their response, or reaction is (including any “he declined to respond to our request for a comment”)

I think many *do* want to believe this–but they are the ones believing these lies, not the ones making them up. Those liars are Taqiyya artitsts.
