The alternating b/w inheritance and wives was interesting, as was the reference to the “possessions of the right hand”. I can understand when the inheritances sum up to less than what the deceased had, but when they exceed it, how do they adjust? W/ more looting?
The elaboration of 4:34 was good, in that it illustrated the term “beat”. There’s no way one can read that verse and conclude that it does not advocate violence against women
So ironically – or maybe not – the chapter called “Women” that ostensibly honors women is the one where one gets the injunctions on polygamy, sex slavery and wife beating! Great title for the surah

This will also happen in Syria. The whole disaster began when Bassel Assad had a fatal car accident. The fools then made friends with the Hezbollah idiots. In the end, the fool of all fools (Bashar Assad) trusted Putin. His older brother was smart enough to despise the Russians and Hezbollah. If Bassel Assad hadn’t died in the car wreck, Palmyra would still be available for tourist tours.Of course, thugs like the Russians and Hezbollah cannot prevent mass destruction and Ottoman conquest.
