What’s Going On? Pro-Hezbollah Imam Set to Give Benediction at Trump’s Inauguration

A deeply antisemitic, pro-Hezbollah imam is set to give a benediction at Trump’s inauguration next Monday, and many Trump supporters who had been happy to see Trump’s repeated affirmations that he would support, not betray, America’s ally Israel are now scratching their heads. What’s going on? Was this just an oversight, a failure to vet the Dearborn Imam Husham al-Husainy properly? Or does it herald a real policy shift in the incoming Trump administration?

There are other signs of such a shift, with the chief among them being the fact that Israel and Hamas are close to a ceasefire in Gaza. Back in June 2024, Trump declared: “Let Israel finish the job in Gaza.” Yet back in Oct. 2023, not long after Hamas massacred 1,200 Israelis, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the goal of Israel’s war in Gaza was the “elimination of Hamas.” He has reiterated this more than once since then, making it clear that he will not consider “the job” to be finished until Hamas no longer exists as an organized group. Israel has rejected Biden regime ceasefire demands for the perfectly cogent reason that they would allow Hamas the chance to survive and regroup.

Now, however, Israel seems to have resigned itself to Hamas’ continued existence, as the New York Times reported that “Israel and Hamas are ‘on the brink’ of agreeing to declare a cease-fire in Gaza and release hostages held there, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken said on Tuesday.” Not only is Hamas not eliminated, but it might even end up in the government of Gaza again once the war ends, contrary to repeated Israeli declarations that this must not and would not happen.

And now comes al-Husainy to give one of the four benedictions at Trump’s inauguration. Al-Husainy is an open supporter of Hezbollah who, back in 2006 at a Dearborn rally in support of the terrorist group, “held the picture of Hezbollah leader [Hassan] Nasrallah aloft on the stage.” Then in Feb. 2007, al-Husainy appeared on Fox’s Hannity and Colmes, where Sean Hannity asked him: “Will you admit that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, sir?” Al-Husainy answered: “That is your explanation.” Hannity pressed him: “This is a yes or no. Is Hezbollah a terrorist organization? Yes or no? Is Hezbollah…” Al-Husainy responded: “No.”

After that straight answer, however, al-Husainy equivocated, but he also signed a document in 2009 that stated: “We remind our sons to get ready to carry out their duty in Holy Jihad and continue the path which our young valiant men in Hezbollah began in Southern Lebanon.” And he has demonstrated his support for Hezbollah in word and deed since then.

  1. Ezekiel prophesied that Israel would be attacked…’from the North, by Persia (iran) and its hordes,’ when Israel’s people dwell “without a wall.”

    there may be no human or human government offering protection to Israel…and that may be what is meant by being “without a wall.”

      What Book Chapter, and Verse is that verse of yours in Ezekiel? I know it well, but would just like to have what chapter and verse it’s under. Also, others might want to look it up too…

      • Sorry, I was actually wanting people to notice THIS verse, one I remembered it saying “ALL THE NATIONS”, so I was reading more, and finally found it.

        Zechariah 12:9

        And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

        Conclusion:
        Which nations will be there? The answer is all of the nations of the world will be at the battle of Armageddon since that is the testimony of Scripture (Joel 3:1-2a; Zechariah 12:3; 14:1-4a; Revelation 16:14-16; 19:19-21).

        ALL NATIONS! That’ll be something to see, but then that’s why Armageddon will be fought in that HUGE land area!

      • All of this has happened in a.d. 70. This conventional prophecy has been fulfilled. Judaism is not a religion anymore only Jesus christ can save you.

        • Ezekiel has not been fulfilled. Rome destroyed the Temple and the city in 70. Persia was not part of that, and neither were the “hordes” from the other nations.

          Ezekiel also says that Jerusalem will be saved by God. Jerusalem was not “saved” when Titus went up and destroyed it and took away slaves back to Rome.

          And to claim that Judaism is ‘not a religion’ is silly. Whether something is a “religion’ or not is based on whether people worship Someone or something or not.

          God’s name is still connected with the city of Jerusalem and not all prophecies concerning that City have been fulfilled. People can put faith in Jesus as their Savior, and still recognize the importance of the Land of Israel and prophecy.

  2. After watching these events come to light all day, I am full-on-disgusted! As a year’s-long America First Conservative (and a well-informed reader of Jihad Watch on the extreme dangers Islam poses to our society), I’m shouting from the rooftops right now that THIS turn of events IS NOT WHAT I VOTED FOR IN NOVEMBER!!.

    Can either of these two things, Israel’s possible ceasefire OR this imam’s presence at the inauguration be stopped??? I am physically sick at the mere thought of this pivot.

  3. I said it before – Trump and the RNC made a deal with the devil in their bid to win Muslim votes in places like Michigan. It seems like they just did the same with Hamas, by forcing a deal where THOUSANDS of terrorists will be released to trade for a few dozen hostages that are still alive after 1.5 years in terrorist captivity.

    I hope Trump and his team has a real plan to deal with the threat of jihad terrorism and the hijrah of illegal Muslim invaders to the West. Hopefully Trump the businessman can finally cut off the mass funding and support for jihad terror, but this isn’t a great sign from what I can see.

  4. Solution:
    *Replace Dearborn Imam with an unknown low profile cleric who doesn’t speak a word of English. Icelandic would be good. Trump cannot run for re-election in 2028 so what does it matter -and all politicians break a promise or two, if it ever were such a thing.

    *Similar tactic with ceasefire which is revealed to be in three parts.
    1st part: about 30 (Dead or Alive) to be released over a month and a half. I’ll believe it when I can place my index finger into the eye sockets of the blind. But if it happens, there is an expectation among some reality-based observers that Hamas will renege on Part Two using some excuse. Hamas will use the respite for some R&R (beardtrim, eat, rape, murder, sleep, the 5 Pillars). Israel will use info from the Returned to triangulate the locations of the Remained or the Remains. And so, back to the natural and principle tool of the creation of human “civilisations” – Men at War, while the women are happy not to be asked.

  5. Something even more uncomfortable about this at the time trump gives hamas a victory. Do the Islamic guy ends his name with a Y instead of an I, but in Arabic is no difference. So odd that the Jerusalem mufti, Hitler’s guy, was Al Husseini.
    Got an extra bad feeling on what coming this year.

  7. What kind of “benediction” does the Muslim faithful have for infidels? My fear is that Trump’s family has been infiltrated in the name of marriage or business.

    • Anyone remember trumps game to block moslems from 7 countries out of 57 Moslem countries? It was just a show and a battle in various courts that had no jurisdiction on the matter. Under a travel clause in the constitution, the president had power to just do it and quote the clause
      But during trumps 4 year reign, the state department airliner import of moslems continued unabated.
      Where I differ with many is not on what trump does, but I think he knows full well what he is doing.

  12. I do hope that people on the MAGA channels – be it Breitbart, TPUSA, Bannon’s War Room, et al pick up on this and make an issue of it. There is no reason Michael Boulos should be allowed to hijack policy just b’cos Trump has named him as an envoy to the Arabs. Also, if he is throught to be pro-Hizbullah, how do they expect him to be well received in Amman, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, et al? Only place he might be welcome might be Baghdad

    • I doubt that this is an intentional policy. Trump has long proven to be pretty clueless when it comes to the danger of Islam itself, I’m afriad. Still probably better than Harris would ahve been, though. Low bar, I realize.

  17. Is this wee turban headed dude giving his speech in Arabic or English and if he is allowed to do so then how come there are no Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Jews as well of course Christians given the same benediction.
    The muslim dude has openly stated his love for Jihad against The West while he lives the life of luxury in The West.

    Perhaps it is a back room deal to offer the Trump administration support in exchange for furthering the fantasy that the followers of the mass murdering child molester deserve respect in a civilized society.

    • And trump picked a jihadist with the same name as the mufti of Jerusalem, Hitler’s mullah, named AL HUSSEINI. I think this is a horrid deeper meaning. That in English this jihadist ends his name with a Y and not an I, doesn’t matter in Arabic.
