Discussions about Islam in the West are usually about how not all Muslims are violent or murderous, or commit sex assaults, or are antisemitic, support Hamas, and the like. It’s obvious that not all Muslims ascribe to beliefs that inculcate hatred and encourage assault and violence. However, far too many do. There’s a reason why airports have become a security headache to get through, why churches and synagogues are either scarce or not found in Muslim countries, why Westerners are afraid to offend Islam, why people’s lives are genuinely in danger if they insult Islam, why the State of Israel is under constant threat, and why a big scandal still rages in Britain about Muslim rape gangs.
Now questions are being raised about Saudi Arabia being awarded the 2034 FIFA World Cup hosting rights, after the wives of two football players were harassed, groped and filmed as they tried to leave the Spanish Super Cup game at King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah.
Many concerns are being raised:
Rights groups point out Saudi Arabia’s tight fist on freedom of expression and heavy punishment for those critical of conservative authority. There are allegations of torture and restrictions on women in the kingdom, which enforces a male guardianship system.
Two years ago, rights groups were also disapproving of the location of the FIFA games in Qatar. FIFA actually had to ask Qatari police “to not treat women as criminals” if they reported being the victims of rape or sexual assault during the World Cup games.

One of the fundamental questions relating to the 2022 World Cup being hosted by Qatar is what message this gives to women and girls around the world…. Misogyny, a sexist contempt and hatred of women, aims to keep women in a lower position than men within a patriarchal society. With discrimination against women enshrined in Qatari law – which, among other things does not criminalise domestic violence or sexual assault – misogyny is being beamed through televisions internationally, via the means of the 2022 men’s football World Cup.
But FIFA is all about “diversity,” despite Qatar and Saudi Arabia not being about diversity at all.
From the Muslim rape gangs in Britain to the inferiority of women sanctioned in the Sharia, women have few rights (if any in some Muslim regions) in Islam.
“Your women are a field for you, so go to your field as you will, and send before you for your souls, and fear Allah, and know that you will meet him. Give good news to believers.” (Qur’an 2:223)
“Allah gives you a responsibility concerning your children, to the male the equivalent of the portion of two females, and if there are more than two women, then their share is two-thirds of the inheritance, and if there be one, then half….” (Qur’an 4:11)
“I looked into Paradise and I saw that the majority of its people were the poor. And I looked into Hell and I saw that the majority of its people are women.” (Sahih Bukhari 3241; Sahih Muslim 2737)
“If a husband calls his wife to his bed [i.e. to have sexual relation] and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning.” (Sahih Bukhari 4.54.460)
Uncovered women are deemed in Islam to be objects to be abused (worse if infidels)……
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only what is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment except to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack desire, or children who know nothing of women’s nakedness. And do not let them stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn to Allah together, O believers, so that you may succeed.” (Quran 24:31)
If a woman does not cover, she is fair game to be assaulted….

It’s worse than this. Qatar hosted the 2024 World Cup, using slave labor for building stadiums. And Morocco is hosting in 2030, vowing to muder 3 million dogs. Now Saudia Arabia is up for hosting in 2034.
That means that the only World Cup in four sessions *not* held in a Muslim country will be 2028, held jointly in North America in Canada, the US, and Mexico.
This would be odd enough in any case, but it is even stranger given the regular poor level of soccer play in the Muslim world. Soccer is most popular–and most professional–in Europe and Latin America, especially South America. It is rising in popularity in North America.
So it makes *no* sense that the focus would be on holding World Cups in the Muslim world. This is politics of the worst kind.
