A great deal was made out of a teacher in a Pennsylvania middle school saying to a student “I don’t negotiate with terrorists” when he asked the student to move to another seat.
At least, that is what we are being told. Before the school could complete an investigation, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) unleashed its main weapon for manipulating public opinion in America: local newscasts.
There were no fewer than eleven TV broadcasts about this tiny tempest of a news story, all describing it as a racist incident.
Ahmet Selim Tekelioglu, CAIR-Philadelphia’s Executive Director, said: “This is a grave verbal assault, akin to using a racial slur, and it is unacceptable from any educator. We ask everyone to imagine if this were their child; this behavior is intolerable.” He added that this was “akin to calling someone the N-word.”
One of the outcomes CAIR wants is for the school to undergo CAIR’s own cultural sensitivity training. But there will be no training for the teacher, who apparently is beyond redemption.
CAIR wants the teacher fired. Tekelioglu said: “We cannot imagine in a scenario where this teacher is being allowed back to interact with students, with young people in the role of a teacher or in any other role.”
Since no investigation was conducted before the teacher resigned, and considering the fact that CAIR is not a reliable source of information, we do not know for sure what actually happened. However, going by what has been reported, the teacher was engaging in an ill-conceived attempt at humor, with no racist intent.
The trope “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” has been used for laughs many times.
- Television Shows:
- In the TV show “The Office,” Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, humorously uses the phrase “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” during a negotiation with his employees, adding a comedic touch to a mundane office situation.
- Sitcoms:
- In the sitcom “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” the character Jake Peralta, played by Andy Samberg, often uses dramatic phrases humorously, including variations of “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” when dealing with trivial matters such as office snacks or personal disagreements.
- Movies:
- In the movie “Tropic Thunder,” a comedy about actors in a war movie who find themselves in a real conflict, one of the characters says, “We don’t negotiate with terrorists!” in an exaggerated and humorous way, playing on the trope’s seriousness in a ridiculous context.
- The 2001 Emmy Awards, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres:
- In an effort to lighten the mood after the September 11 attacks, she joked, “We’re told to go on living our lives as usual, because to do otherwise is to let the terrorists win, and really, what would upset the Taliban more than a gay woman wearing a suit in front of a room full of Jews?”
It is inconceivable that anyone would think the little boy in the middle school is a terrorist, or that the teacher actually thought he was a terrorist. But since we are dealing with terrorist supporters, great offense will be claimed as the pretext to inundate the school system with Hamas propaganda.
During an associated press conference, two young women, Bonnie Carrow and Hadeel Salameh from the Harrisburg Palestine Coalition, stepped up to speak about the need for the school to introduce a pro-Hamas curriculum.
The Facebook for the Harrisburg Palestine Coalition has a posting claiming that the terrorists that descended from the sky on October 7 were merely yearning to breathe free, and the “settlers,” i.e. the Israelis, used this as the pretext to commit genocide in Gaza.
According to local FOX43, “Hadeel Salameh with Harrisburg Palestine Coalition says the rally is meant to amplify efforts by the Palestinian Liberation Movement, part of the Palestine Liberation Organization.”
In another FOX 43 report, the Harrisburg Palestine Coalition “reminds everyone that October 7 marks one year of continuously escalating genocide against the Palestinian people, perpetrated by the United States and Israel. The military operation on October 7, 2023, was an inevitable act of decolonial resistance instigated by over a century of Zionist colonization of Palestine. To pretend that history began and ended on October 7 is to engage in genocide denial and white supremacy. The US-backed Zionist genocide has murdered at least 200,000 Palestinians, displaced millions of people from their homes, and escalated into a broader regional war that puts countless more lives at risk. This genocide is made possible by the financial, military, and political support of the United States. Over 70% of the weapons used against the population of Gaza are manufactured and funded by the United States.”
At the same press conference, the father of the boy reiterated the idea that the school district needs to teach Hamas propaganda.
When asked by reporters to give some details on the previous situations that led the father to consider this to be the last straw, he couldn’t give a single example.
“The problem is if you have an opinion, and are racist, just keep it to yourself,” said the boy’s father.
We don’t actually know if the teacher had any racist or “Islamophobic” intent. There was no investigation and no determination regarding whether this was part of a larger pattern and a hostile environment at the school. Instead, all we got was just “the Muslims are mad, and it would be better if you leave.”
And so a school system that will force a teacher to resign for making a joke to a student about negotiating with terrorists may be considering teaching the students terrorist propaganda about Israel and “Palestine.”
Truly, the Greater Dauphin School System should not negotiate with terrorists.

As far as the Greater Dauphin School story goes, I do not see any reason to think he is a terrorist. But, as far as his family goes, I am not so sure. I’m not sure what he means here but he might be referring to Hamas. Then he goes on to say the school needs to educate students about the Middle East. This is the same person who told us his son said the room was spinning after the teacher made her comment about terrorists. The child needs to see a doctor, or maybe child protection services needs to get involved.

It is interesting to note we have been down this road before with all the associated drama that comes with CAIR including accusations of “racism”.
In New Jersey a High School teacher quipped about not negotiating with terrorists and the student was so traumatized he couldn’t leave the house afterwards.
“The district did not respond to a request for comment. After the incident last year, teacher Daniel Tracey was suspended and the matter was referred to police, who referred it back to the district because they did not find any crime associated with the incident.”

And, here is another example from Michigan. Almost exactly the same story – a counselor tells a student she does not negotiate with terrorists. CAIR gets a hold of this. Takes it to the media, and opens a compliant with the Office of Civil Rights in the Michigan Department of Education. I just do not buy that Muslims are somehow different in that when called a terrorist they faint away. Rather, I think children are encouraged to react that way, and schools are encouraged to go into panic mode by the reaction of the Council on American Islamic Reactions.

Since this account does not have anything from the teacher, we don’t know his side. Perhaps the mozlum kid was acting like a little terrorist toward other students; perhaps he was making threats to the teacher, etc.

It was reported that the incident took place at an after school activity. My understanding from reading the article and watching the linked videos is that the student made a request to move his seat/chair and the teacher denied his request. Teachers must maintain control of their classroom and school environment activities.
In the videos, females mo slums were not wearing the fulll body trash-bag-like covering! The father of student and CA IR reps want more geo politics history and education.
Will they tell of sh ria law in Iran where females undergo genitalia mutilation, must not be allowed to speak in voice audible to males outside their dwelling, and must be concealed from vision of non familial males?

But on Tuesday, an appeals court panel consisting of Thomas Sumners Jr., Ronald Susswein and Stanley Bergman reversed the ruling, dismissing the claims against CAIR, CAIR-NJ and Maksut.
The appeals court, however, upheld the decision below concerning Muhammad, leaving her as the only defendant in the case.
The appeals court said concerning CAIR, CAIR-NJ and Maksut, the sole issue in the case was whether their statements were made with actual malice.
Because Herman’s conduct arose in the context of her teaching in a public school, there must be a showing of actual malice by a defendant where the statement is about a plaintiff who is a public figure or relates to an issue of public concern, the panel said.
Herman’s complaint did not sufficiently allege a prima facie case of discrimination and false-light invasion of privacy because she failed to assert facts that the CAIR defendants’ statements regarding Herman’s interaction with the student were made with actual malice, the panel said.
Herman’s allegations of the CAIR defendants’ actual malice were imputed from Muhammad’s conduct and her subjective intent, the panel said. Herman does not make factual allegations establishing that, before defendants publicizing their statements about the incident, the CAIR defendants acted in concert with Muhammad or had any communication with Muhammad about whether the student accurately reported what happened, the panel said.
“The mere fact that defendants advocate for Muslims’ civil rights does not establish they knew Muhammad’s social media posts were untrue yet still published defamatory statements or put Herman’s privacy in a false light,” the appeals court judges said. “Herman’s amended complaint asserts that defendants’ comments about the incident were based solely on Muhammad’s social media posts. [D]efendants had no duty to investigate Muhammad’s posts. Thus, Herman cannot sustain a charge of actual malice by contending defendants should have communicated with Muhammad, Herman, or the student’s family before circulating and commenting on Muhammad’s posts.”
But the appeals court judges declined Muhammad’s bid to be cleared in the libel suit. T”

Even though the teacher resigned it probably save his life in the long run. Never negotiate with terrorists and live among the, work among them, do business with them, etc etc. And really, for crying out loud, do I have to say it? Don’t teach them either.

People long ago would leave their doors open when away from home. Now, people lock their door when just going into the yard if they will be out of sight of the door. House alarms, cameras, car alarms, concealed carry …all due to lawlessness.
mozlums just make so many more places dangerous. Teachers in such situations need all the help they can get.

Now, we have locks on the doors, windows, alarms, cameras, and still feel vulnerable..
We would have had to call the police with a seven digit number, rotary dial, but they came when people needed them.
Now, emergency at a one button push and by the time they respond, it’s all over but the crying.
