Unless, of course, you’re an infidel. Then we get “kill them wherever you find them” (Qur’an 2:191, 4:89, cf. 9:5), and “when you meet the unbelievers, strike necks” (Qur’an 47:4).

LAHORE:In light of Islamic jurisprudence, Pakistan’s leading seminary, Darul Iftah Jamia Naeemia has issued a Fatwa, declaring one-wheeling, aerial firing and kite flying against Sharia (Islamic laws) and a sin.
The Fatwa was issued at the request of Lahore police, who sought guidance about the matter related to wheelie, aerial firing and kite flying from the religious scholars in light of Sharia as dozens of people lost their lives due to metal strings, stray bullets, and one-wheeling. Referring to the teachings of the religion, the Fatwa reads: “Preservation of human life is the utmost priority in Islam.”
The Fatwa urged the people to comply with the state’s laws aimed at protecting lives, properties and honour of the citizens.“Aerial firing is not only extravagance but also creates panic among the people. It can also become a cause of death of anybody,” reads the Fatwa, adding that the acts were against the law, and Sharia. Quoting several Quranic verses and Hadiths, the religious scholars declared these acts “haram” [forbidden]….
Individuals caught flying kites will face a three to five year imprisonment or a fine of Rs2 million, or both, according to the amendments….

It actually happens a lot in the subcontinent. There are kite flying contests, where contestants try to cut the string of other people’s kites. Sometimes, the strings get close to the throats of people, killing them. It happens more often than you think

I do hope there are some freewheeling Pakistanis who will organize a Wheelie-popping Festival to defy the edict! I can dream, can’t I? While at same time, I know it’s not going to happen.
There are many thousands of reasons to abhor Islam, and this adds a couple to the stack. No fitness programs. No music worth listening to. No puppies. No kites. No fun on bikes. No women especially having fun. Why doesn’t that bother some of these groups? The women are shut away in many of these societies. In many, no women will be seen (b/c it’s not allowed) eating in a restaurant with men present–they must be herded into a special women’s room, if they go out at all.
That’s all the “No’s” and then there are all the permitted, encouraged and commanded items. Many of them will make you run for the airsick bag.
