Musk says Farage should be replaced as leader of Reform. Was it over Tommy Robinson or Farage’s views on Islam?

Elon Musk now opposes Nigel Farage, following seemingly friendly talks with the Reform UK leader at Mar-a-Lago. After those discussions, the Reform Party released this statement:

“We learned a great deal about the Trump ground game and will have ongoing discussions on other areas,” it added. “We only have one more chance left to save the west and we can do great things together. Our thanks also to President Trump for allowing us to use Mar-a-Lago for this historic meeting. The special relationship is alive and well.”

But then in a blow to Farage, Musk has now called for him to be replaced.

Elon Musk has called for Nigel Farage to be replaced as Reform UK leader hours after Farage described the billionaire businessman as “a hero”, in what is likely to be a preview of how a chaotic Donald Trump presidency could affect British politics.

Farage, who is also the de facto owner of Reform, “doesn’t have what it takes”, Musk said on X, the social media platform he owns, less than three weeks after the pair held seemingly warm talks at Trump’s Florida home. “The Reform party needs a new leader,” he wrote.

Musk, 53, who has sent a mass of largely misleading posts in recent days about a series of aspects of UK politics, appeared to endorse Rupert Lowe, the Great Yarmouth MP, as a possible replacement, saying statements he had read from Lowe “make a lot of sense”.

Later, Lowe backed Farage, posting on X: “Nigel is leader of Reform. He made Brexit happen, and for that I will always be grateful….

Farage himself connected Musk’s turning on him to Tommy Robinson:

Farage, 60, indicated Musk’s statement could be connected to a disagreement about Tommy Robinson, the jailed far-right anti-Islam agitator whom Musk has characterised as a political prisoner, but whom Farage condemns.

“Well, this is a surprise!” Farage wrote on X after Musk’s tweet. “Elon is a remarkable individual but on this I am afraid I disagree. My view remains that Tommy Robinson is not right for Reform and I never sell out my principles.”

Farage has distanced himself from Robinson, saying:

“I never wanted Tommy Robinson to join UKIP ….I don’t want him to join Reform UK; and he won’t be.”

Farage also claimed that Tommy Robinson is not a political prisoner:

Mr Musk “sees Robinson as one of these people that fought against the grooming gangs…But of course the truth is Tommy Robinson’s in prison not for that, but for contempt of court….We’re a political party aiming to win the next general election. He’s not what we need.”

It does appear that Musk may have soured on Farage due to the latter’s views on Robinson, at least in part, given the strength of Musk’s support for Robinson:

But leadership material involves more than a single issue. It involves resilience and know-how on multiple issues including economics, national security, the rule of law, and protection of Western interests and freedoms. There is also another possible and related reason for Musk’s deciding that Farage was lacking, which carries deeper implications than Farage’s lack of support for Tommy Robinson:

This view isn’t unique to Farage. Far too many politicians of every political stripe feel that they must prove to their countries and to the world that they are not “Islamophobic.” Yet it isn’t possible to prove such a thing to the collective Muslim world unless you ultimately are willing to give up all speech deemed offensive to Islam, in accordance with Islamic blasphemy laws, as well as to turn against Israel in favor of the “resistance” from the River to the Sea, and allow pro-Hamas thugs to “globalize the intifada.” Islam is about Sharia expansion, conquest, and dhimmitude, and the Muslim vote is dependent on it. The more you surrender, the more you will be expected to surrender. It is only necessary that Westerners stand firmly and without apology against any doctrine equally that threatens Western values and freedoms. For all his talk about not alienating Muslims, Farage’s own immigration policies and his latest defence of Musk for the latter’s attack on the UK government’s response to Muslim rape gangs will ultimately cause Farage to alienate Muslim groups.

More will likely come to light about Musk’s statement against Farage, but in the meantime, Reform MPs are now reportedly rallying behind Farage.

  1. Generally, Farage has been talking soft of late in connection to third worlders pouring in to the UK, in addition to vilifying Tommy Robinson.
    Some see it as treading carefully but that is not what is needed.
    Farage could have supported TR with some caveats if need be, but he won’t do that.
    Farage also needs to point out in harsh detail what the muslims and others cause in the UK instead of treading this careful line as some see it.

    Note TR is not in prison directly for exposing the muslim paki child rape gangs, he is jail because of contempt of court.
    However, to cut that whole story short, that is because his previous actions made him a target for leftist traitor groups such as Hope Not Hate. Plus he has never been allowed to defend himself in connection to the matter which led to contempt of court, due to Non Disclosure Agreements handed out by traitors in Kirklees council in West Yorkshire.

    • One of the things that Farage did when asked about Tommy Robinson was point out that the latter was in jail for contempt of court. This is pretty much more of a process crime, and one that creates an imperial judiciary that has powers that even elected officials don’t have. I was watching one of the GBNews clips yesterday, and it had the Leftist in the panel saying the same thing. When Farage and a spokesperson of the Left has the same soundbite, he ought to re-examine where he stands

      • And the contempt of court being to still argue a point about a certain supposed syrian kid which he could never do in court due to Kirklees council arranging Non Disclosure Agreements for people who would have said things which backed TR’s original points.

    • I agree with you that Farage seems to be taking orders from Muhammad Yusuf, so I’m extremely pleased to see Musk come out so unequivocally against him. I’ve read that Musk has said that the US should refuse to accept the UK’s Jeffrey Epstein associate as ambassador until the UK releases Tommy (and hopefully the other political prisoners). Now of course they’re turning that around and making threats regarding the US ambassador.

      As you note, Farage has a moral obligation to differentiate from the leftists by speaking the truth that TR turned himself in after a case centered on his reporting the truth about the Syrian “victim” while his government lied repeatedly to push their story. TR is being held in solitary confinement on a civil charge, something that is an abomination for a first world country. Tommy did not actually release the video, so he’s not even liable.

      • And I’m sure you know more than I, but for anyone new to this issue, the Syrian boy was portrayed as a victim of abuse at school and Tommy made a video that told the real story. The Syrian boy was very violent and repeatedly threatened to rape other students, teachers, and females in boy 2’s family. Boy 2 poured some water on the Syrian’s face and told him to stop the threats of rape. For this, boy 2 was portrayed as a waterboarder/torturer. The media hounded boy 2 to the point of near suicide and drove his family out of their home. Msm lied to cover for the government, which forced school employees into NDAs & shut down that school to hide their lies that the immigrant boy was the victim. Tommy was forced into a “trial” before a muslim judge (he’s never had a jury trial) who banned TR’s video. Someone else, he says, released the banned video; hence the contempt of court. All this over the truth escaping.

          One day soon, vengeance will come for those….even the *boy* at school who bullied and threatened. For the victims,, such as the other boy, it can’t come too soon.

I think Musk in his opinion is stating both Farage’s treating Tommy Robinson as a racist terrorist and his extra soft treatment of jihad terrorism and the flood of “refugees” that are breaking the countries resources and cultural, The progressives are freaking out that Musk has an opinion ,Musk is not advocating censorship (like the British government) or violence to over throw the rule of law (like jihadist) he is expressing who should run under the banner of the conservatives party . The people in power in England can like his opinion ,hate his opinion ,or ignore his opinion. His opinion does not carry obligation to be followed .Soros has a whole foundation that pushes his opinions ,he spends money helping violent groups who use rioting and mayhem to advance his agenda .To my limited knowledge Musk spends most of his time building ,designing things and trying to produce things people can use in the here and now and maybe in the future to make the world a better place.. Is Europe or England a better place to live now then it was thirty years ago ? Are the general population safer happier ,wealthier ,more social stable ,think the future will be better .? What governmental policies (EU running the show unelected elites) have lead to the present state of England and most Western Europe in the year 2025.All Musk is saying is maybe it is time to elect a leader who sees a future for the people of England that their cultural and civilization can survive ,the time of appeasement and virtual signaling should end. That is his opinion because it goes against the woke agenda Musk must be made into a evil man because he alot of money building things that work ,how dare he state who he would like to see run the country of England!   4. To answer Christine’s question, I think it was over Tommy Robinson. I’m not sure Musk has formed any opinion about islam/muslims, even though he’s been echoing concerns about things like muslims raping kids in the UK

    Nigel is being “political” and it’s not going to cut the mustard. This article is 100% spot-on. There is going to ultimately be no compromise with Islam, because they are playing for keeps. They are planning to win. There are some soft Muslims who fled their tyrannical states, but they are sometimes hard to suss out for real, with taqiyya and all. The fear the takeover of real Islam. If you investigate his background he has publicly come out in support of universal basic income, putting computer chips in humans aka transhumanism, as a client of the US government has sent to Ukraine SpaceX’s Star link terminals for communications, believes in carbon taxes, is now censoring X by blocking out those who are against the H1-B visa program which he supports, is a big fan of super apps like China’s WeChat and Ukraine’s Diia apps that give greater control to government, apps that are used by China for their social credit scoring of citizens etc. Musk like Facebook/Meta is a creation of government the CIA investment arm In-Q-Tel was the initial start up financial backer for SpaceX, NASA in 2008 awarded SpaceX a $3 billion contract even though SpaceX hadn’t had a successful launch yet. Musk isn’t even the founders of Tesla they are Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, Musk was the 4th CEO.

      Musk is the symptom of Western civilization’s materialistic obsession. Since Musk is very wealthy people act like he has exemplary knowledge that no one else has due to his wealth.

      Islam is a threat to the rest of the world and Musk is right in calling out the crimes of Islam that the UK elite want to sweep under the rug, but he is a narcissistic globalist who is not the entrepreneurial wizard facade he has created for the world.

  7. British patriots must insist on Nigel retracting his disgusting statements about their dependence on Muslim votes. There is no point in replacing one globalist collaborator for another. Expecting a return to British norms while desperately trying to appease Muslim invaders is a losing strategy.

    Farage is simply looking at 10 Downing Street or bust.

    Im done with Farage though I was never a big fan but supported many of the things he previous said he stood for.
