It Was Jihad in New Orleans: Attacker Identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar

After initially denying that the attack in New Orleans in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day was a terror attack, and then belatedly admitting that obvious fact, the FBI is now confronted with the onerous task of investigating what was actually an Islamic jihad attack.

NBC News reported early Wednesday afternoon that “four senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter say they have preliminarily identified the suspect in the vehicle ramming attack in New Orleans as Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42.” Din Jabbar is “accused of intentionally plowing a pickup truck into New Year’s revelers at about 3:15 a.m. on Bourbon Street, authorities said. The suspect is dead, the FBI said.” In his vehicular jihad attack, Din Jabbar murdered at least ten people and injured dozens of others.

The mysterious flag on the back of the truck Din Jabbar was driving seems to have been a flag of the Islamic State (ISIS). If that is definitively confirmed, it would not be surprising at all, for ISIS has called for vehicular jihad attacks as far back as 2014. In a long communiqué encouraging individual Muslims to carry out jihad attacks in Western countries, it quoted the Qur’an: “O you who believe, take your precautions, then advance the proven ones, or advance all together.” (4:71) Then it stated:

If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him. Do not lack. Do not be contemptible. Let your slogan be, “May I not be saved if the cross worshipper and taghūt (ruler ruling by manmade laws) patron survives.”

Such attacks have not been common in the U.S., at least up until now, but they have happened. Back in May 2024, according to the New York Post, “a maniac tried to mow down Orthodox students and a rabbi outside a Brooklyn Jewish school Wednesday while allegedly yelling ‘I’m gonna kill all the Jews’ in a shocking antisemitic attack.” The name of the “maniac” was Asghar Ali, and “video footage supplied by the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol shows the crazed driver revving his engine and mounting the curb as he swerved toward Orthodox Jews milling around a Yeshiva in Canarsie at about 11:25 a.m.” Nevertheless, “cops do not believe the attack is terror-related and…did not have evidence he was tied to radical groups online.” Well, that settles that.

Los Angeles’ KTLA reported in Oct. 2023 that “a woman was killed after a driver slammed into her, several other pedestrians and occupied cars in Long Beach on Saturday evening, and new information from police indicates that the crash may have been intentional.” The driver was named Khalid Yagobbi. At last report, cops were searching for a motive.

      • Simple: can be born in USA but Parents from home nation TEACH jihad in the home and requires silence when not home, so you have the behave AS a citizens until its time to do your jihad against people.

        can take a person out of their home nation, transplant in another nation however home nation rules inside of the home no matter where they reside.

    • I believe it hinges on the “seemingly intelligent.” And the fact that psychopathy is rampant in mozlum society. islam gives them *license* to go for the “brutal” ..to do what they naturally want to do to other humans.

        • James, you are probably correct….but I meant in the way of *life*….not just brain power. The goon had computer “smarts,” but his marriage failures, his job failures…he was in the Army, but before that, he had tried to make it in the Navy and failed…
          There was something missing from his “intelligence.”
          Ever watch that program “stupid criminals”? They may know *stuff*…but they are missing something important or they wouldn’t commit crimes.

  7. The first step in fixing a problem is being able to identify the problem. The news is not allowed to identify Islam or the Quran or Islamic Law or jihad or Muslims as problems. Even though those have all been problems for 1400 years.

  9. I just pray that this incident does not make the Muslims community in New Orlean’s feel unsafe and stop them from spreading all that wonderful diversity. That would be terrible. The fact that everyone else is actually unsafe is juts one of those things

    • I know you’re speaking sarcastically, but New Orleans has long been one of the most diverse, multiracial and multicultural cities in the United States, long before there was a large Muslim community there.

      The late Canadian comedian Norm MacDonald once quipped, “What concerns me is: let’s say that a jihadist terror group detonates a nuclear weapon and kills 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims in the country.”

Allah, the murderer, in Qur’an 8:12 says, “When your lord revealed to the angels: ‘I am with you so make firm those who believed[Muslims]. I will cast a terror into the hearts of those who became infidels[Non-Muslims]. So strike above their necks(decapitation), and strike off(chop off) every finger from them.’” Allah, the terrorist, in Qur’an 49:15 says, “Surely the believers are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed jihad with their MONEY AND THEIR LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” Allah, the seditionist, in Qur’an 8:39 says, “And engage in war with them[Non-Muslims] until there will not be sedition and the religion will be completely to Allah…”

I keep thinking, after each Muslim terrorist attacks, that finally the slow learning fools in our societies will wake the hell up and see the truth about stinking, evil,barbaric, rotten to the core Islam and our societies will say,ok, that’s enough, and bans Muslims. But, no, it never happens. The fact that the Hungarians and some others have woken up tells me that it is not impossible for people to wake up. I was going to text a talk back radio guy today and say, hey, wake up it is islam, but then thought, oh why bother, this dopey, like so other dopes, will never wake and face reality. The way rotten islam is so protected by so many idiots truly amazed me. Even the slowest learners should have got the message by now.

When are some of these idiots going to have an epiphany and admit to the obvious fact that it is always muslims committing these acts of terrorism and perhaps even peruse the disgusting, hate-filled kookran where all (might) become clear to them, motive and all!

    But, x must not be allowed to equal z.
    Therefore, if you say x=z, then you are a xenophobic, racist, bigoted and intolerant Nazi scum. Or, y is a mentally disturbed fellow for whom you should feel sorry or at least kind of understanding.
    Because, x can never, ever be said to equal z. No new lesson to be learned here, so move on and pretend that everything is going to be okay. If another tragedy comes from x, we will send you our condolences, with thoughts and prayers.
