Despite being the whipping-dog for decades at the UN, the government of Israel is willing to give the organization the opportunity to show that it can, indeed, not dismiss, but rather, treat with respect Jerusalem’s report on the “torture and atrocities” experienced by its hostages at the hands of Hamas. More on the report’s contents can be found here: “Herzog: UN ‘morally obliged’ to help free Hamas hostages,” JNS, December 29, 2024:
The United Nations is “morally obliged” to help secure the release of the 100 hostages being held by Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said on Sunday.
“Torture. Physical and psychological torture. Starvation. Sexual abuse. Beatings. Branding. Just some of the horrific words that jump off the pages of the Ministry of Health’s submission to the U.N. on the horrific ordeal endured by the hostages at the hands of Hamas terrorist murderers and rapists in Gaza,” said Herzog.
The Israeli Health Ministry will submit a report this week detailing the “torture and atrocities experienced by Israeli hostages since Oct. 7, [2023],” including “abhorrent instances of sexual violence,” to Alice Jill Edwards, the U.N. special rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, the Israeli mission to the world body told JNS on Saturday.
The report will include “many testimonies of the hostages who returned from Hamas captivity” and “descriptions of the horrors Hamas terrorists inflicted on the hostages, including sexual abuse, starvation, neglect and humiliation,” the Israeli delegation said….
Will the UN do anything when it receives the Israeli report on the physical and mental torture, and starvation, of hostages? Will the General Assembly at least denounce Hamas for “these war crimes” and “demand the immediate release of the hostages still held in Gaza”? How can it, when that would only divert attention from what Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese, and so many others in the glass tower on the East River know are the only crimes that count: the ones that Israel is accused (without the slightest supporting evidence) of committing without letup — the “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide” of the innocent people of Gaza.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese will throw the Israeli report into the garbage. Simple as that. They will never stop attacking, demeaning, and accusing Israel. Doing so is their very job.

Why bother?
The un will never do anything about the atrocities Jews have suffered at the hands of the terrorists. They will invert it so the fakestinian filth are the victims of Israeli oppression, and this was an honest attempt at freedom.
We know this because they’ve already done it
They will call the hostages liars on the world stage and spew more Jew-hatred.
Israel should ignore the world, storm into gaza and wipe out the lot of them.

You beat me to it. Most, if not all, of the OIC members of the UN are pretty antisemitic to begin w/. Then there are the communist regimes, that have their own beef w/ Israel, despite having no reason to – countries like Venezuela, Colombia, Nicaragua, South Africa, et al. The end result is seen in most UN votes on Israel, where the number of countries voting alongside Israel is usually in single figures
In fact, Israel should pull out of the UN and have only bilateral relationships w/ countries that have common interests w/ it – like US, Greece, Cyprus, India and so on

All non-Muslim countries are under threat. What the current international community has pulled against Israel (abuses by the UN, International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court, International Committee of the Red Cross) is merely a model to be used in the future for other such countries Perhaps it is time for a new international union of non-Muslim countries to protect their own freedom and independence.

It is an exercise in futility to report the truth to the UN. However, it does shed light on the hypocrisy of the human rights abusers that pass for legitimate nations.
The US should remain there for the same reason, but not contribute one dime of our tax dollars.
Michael Skok says
There’s a saying that if all else fails and you take your case to the UN, you definitely know nothing will happen.
John Burns says
As someone said: “Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US“.
Walter Sieruk says
It’s very good news that some young Israeli women who had been ruthlessly kidnapped by the jihadists of Hamas have been freed. Nevertheless, Hamas should pay compensation for the severe suffering and wicked abuse.,including rape, they had to endure while in captivity, that inflected on them by the cruel jihadists of Hamas. Likewise, those jihadists of Hamas who had deliberately and directly inflected torture on them. Those Muslim terrorists should be punished for their savage cruelty that they brutally and maliciously horrendously committed against those poor defenseless helpless women .For those Hamas jihad should not be allowed to go free with impunity.

The followers of Islam are still holding mother and child as hostages. It’s a den of robbers and kidnappers.

Austreten aus der UNO und ihnen den Geldhahn zudrehen ist vielleicht eine Möglichkeit, dieses Gremium so zu schwächen, bis sie eine von vielen Tausend anderen bedeutungslosen NGOs geworden ist.
