New in PJ Media:
Throughout Chris Cillizza’s long career as a “journalist” and “political commentator,” he has shown himself repeatedly to be a dutiful propagandist for the left, never daring to get even close to an independent thought and instead faithfully reflecting whatever the political and media elites wanted him to think. And that is still largely the case, but these are unusual times, and even Cillizza has demonstrated a shocking level of independence for a leftist journo, even daring to say that Donald Trump, the veritable focus of evil in the modern world, may have been right about something. Et tu, Cillizza? Yes: for the left, it has come even to this.
Cillizza wrote on X Monday: “I screwed up. Back in May 2020, I wrote how Anthony Fauci had ‘crushed’ Donald Trump’s lab-leak theory for how Covid-19 originated The CIA said over the weekend that they now believed the virus leaked from a lab.”
To get an idea of how big this admission is, consider that Cillizza’s Substack bears a heading that boasts about Trump’s disdain for him: “So What: Donald Trump once called me ‘one of the dumber and least respected of the political pundits.’ So I got that going for me. I write about politics — mostly — with humor, transparency, and authenticity. 2-3 posts a day.” Well, he writes about politics, anyway, and actually approached some transparency and authenticity in his Monday thread on X.
Cillizza noted a recent assessment from the CIA — and they wouldn’t lie to us, now, would they? “Here’s a CIA spokesperson: ‘CIA assesses with low confidence that a research-related origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely than a natural origin based on the available body of reporting.’” Since this so sharply differs from what the CIA and the entire political and media establishment were telling us at the time, it is worth crediting, even though it does come from the CIA. And Cillizza was man enough to recognize its implications for his previous “reporting.”
Cillizza followed up the CIA assessment with this: “Which, if you’re keeping track, is what Donald Trump and lots of prominent conservatives — most notably Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton — have been saying for a very long time now. And, candidly, they have taken a lot of s**t for it. Including from me.” He even added: “My belief back then was that if this was a debate between Donald Trump and Anthony Fauci on the origins of a pandemic-level virus, I was going to go with the guy who spent his entire career studying this stuff, not the reality TV-star-turned-president.” And: “Except, it now appears that the reality TV-star-turned-president was right. And Anthony Fauci was wrong.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

Fauci’s denial always looked like a prime example of “MRDA” or “Mandy Rice-Davies applies”. For those still baffled – during the “Profumo Affair” of 1963 involving an irresistibly spicy mix of the Minister of War John Profumo – (husband of film-star Valerie Hobson) – supposedly sharing a mistress with a Russian spy / members of the British aristocracy / and party-girls Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies – it was put to Rice-Davies in court that Lord Astor denied her claims of having received sexual favours from her during a house-party at Cliveden, his stately home in Buckinghamshire.
Miss Rice-Davies pertinent reply of: “Well, he would – wouldn’t he?” neatly encapsulated the obvious truth that nobody’s word can be entirely relied-upon regarding sexual peccadilloes, or on any other matter where they have a vested interest in denying the truth.
Fauci was funding development of a virus in China using American tax-dollars. He is hardly likely to admit that it was his virus that caused a world pandemic, is he? Much better to claim that his is still safely under lock-and-key, and that entirely coincidentally – an absolute ringer spontaneously emerged from a Chinese wet-market.
(The second point yet to be addressed is whether it was released deliberately, to crash the world’s economies. “Asymmetric warfare” is all the rage in China…)

I have believed from the get-go that it was deliberately released.
The chinese tried it out on their own people first, and then the American military visiting their country.

Covid gain of function was transferred from Chapel Hill North Carolina to the Wuhan lab, where it leaked out. At least Trump removed Fauci’s security detail. Let him pay for his own security, the little weasel.

“I have believed from the get-go that it was deliberately released.”
Certainly possible, but is there a smoking gun?
somehistory says
James, All of the attempts to cover it up….are the guns. Plus:
If it had been from a market, there would have been no reason to hide the virus, nor murder the doctor who was exposing the facts to the world. He was explaining and warning and then, suddenly he was ill and then dead.
The military guys, who were isolated from the general public in china, came back all infected.
The lab where the parts were being made was not the highest level, but a low-level one. Had the chinese not wanted the leak, they would have been working in the highest level with a virus they hoped to make transmissible to humans
A deliberate leak was the *best* way to test what they had done. The bat woman could have taken a shot of it, but then she might have died. That would have been true of all of those working on making a deadly virus which would go from person to person so easily.
So, they made it and then leaked it.
A group of *doctors*….including the falsie one who funded this evil…had met and discussed this years before. They wanted to force people to get vaccinated for whatever they decided we should all be jabbed.
One of them said, “A virus, perhaps out of china,….”
And their partner in crime, b. gates, said he could lower the world’s population with “vaccinations.”
The leftover odors from the “guns” are still in the air.

somehistory,
Thank you for your informed reply – and you make a good case.
I think that it’s “more likely than not” that the lab leak was intentional, but it is probably unlikely – because of the horrific criminal communists in China – that we will be able to prove this 100%. And “any and all” evidence has likely been totally destroyed…
That being said, virologist Dr. Li-Meng Yan – whom I respect – certainly supports an intentional lab leak from Wuhan:

Thank you, James. And I agree that china will not admit that it was a deliberate act. Neither will the fake doctor and those who conspired with him to spread disease and death to so many.
I’ll try to give the dr you cite a listen. Thanks.

James, I did watch the video. I had heard her speak before, but didn’t remember her name. It’s a wonder she can speak so freely considering that many chinese are here in the U.S. but work for their government.

somehistory,
Thank you for all of your informed replies.
Glad that you had a chance to watch the video.

Although Fauci was a highly paid weasel, the Wuhan lab leak and GoF are a smokescreen. The real culprit is our very own DOD and its bioweapons programs. I highly recommend Sasha Latypova’s Substack and her work on fake pandemics.
James Lincoln says
At least Chris Cillizza apologized – this once.

There are two times the US government completely failed me and the American people within my life:
The September 11, 2001 attacks: there should have been war declared on the cult of islam (I guess a “reverse jihad”. Instead, there’s only been capitulation – and things have gotten worse. This capitulation was done out of fear.
The covid “pandemic.” There was no pandemic – only a normal flu season. This was done out of mass hysteria and want of power.
Fauci is a power hungry narcissist who somehow (beyond belief) got into a position of authority. He should be in prison the rest of his life for the economic and personal grief and, in some cases, ruin, he caused.

Another CNN guy discussed the trade of terrorists for hostages with an Israeli, former ambassador to the U.S., Michel Oren. The reporter said it was a bad idea. Of course, he was in agreement with Mr. Oren.
