While it’s midwinter on the mean streets of Morningside Heights, according to the academic calendar on the Columbia campus, it is the beginning of the Spring Term. And that means the predictable band of antisemites, both students and non-students, have gathered after the Christmas break on the campus to yet again scream their demands — “From the river to the sea/Palestine shall be free,” and even more violently, “Smash the Zionists” and “Intifada Forever” — and to harass, or surround and hold hostage, or even to rough up, any visibly Jewish students who happen to be crossing the campus on their way to class. And many in the antisemitic mob, not content with screaming in the open air, will enter campus buildings to trespass on classes where Jewish or Israeli professors may be trying to teach, or Jewish students trying to learn, but find their voices suddenly drowned out by a phalanx of student stormtroopers, eager to shut down any possibility of Jewish voices being heard.

Several hundred anti-Israel demonstrators rallied outside the gates of Columbia University in New York City on Tuesday, as student activists vowed to step up their protests with the start of the spring semester….
The protesters gathered on Broadway outside a Columbia entrance in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. They chanted “We will honor all our martyrs,” “Smash the settler Zionist state,” and “Intifada people’s war” to the beat of a snare drum.
On campus, several dozen activists gathered and chanted “Long live the intifada” outside the university’s Butler Library, according to video that students shared with The Times of Israel. The protesters then marched off campus to join the activists on the street, two students said. The campus is only open to students and staff with university identification.
“Columbia you will see, we resist till victory,” the protesters on the street shouted. Most of the protesters’ faces were covered in medical masks or keffiyehs….
The protesters were led by Columbia University Apartheid Divest, a coalition of student groups led by the campus branches of Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace. Both groups were suspended last year for violating university protest policies but continue to operate as part of the broader coalition. Tuesday’s demonstration was backed by the off-campus groups Within Our Lifetime, the Palestinian Youth Movement and National Students for Justice in Palestine….
The Columbia students urged classmates to leave class on Tuesday, the first day of classes for the semester….
I am pleased to report that almost none of the students did as the pro-Hamas groups demanded.
On campus, protesters handed out fliers that said, “The enemy will not see tomorrow,” with images of masked gunmen and an inverted triangle, a Hamas symbol, according to images shared online….
“The enemy will not see tomorrow” sounds like a threat of “imminent lawless violence” to me, and thus, according to the ruling in Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), would not be protected by the First Amendment if, as seems likely, such slogans lead to groups of pro-Hamas students invading and vandalizing Columbia classrooms, and violently disrupting classes.
University President Katrina Armstrong condemned the disruption and vowed an investigation.
“No group of students has a right to disrupt another group of students in a Columbia classroom,” Armstrong said in a statement. “We want to be absolutely clear that any act of antisemitism, or other form of discrimination, harassment, or intimidation against members of our community is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”…
Fine words, President Armstrong, but what do you now intend to do? Will you call in the NYPD to arrest those taking part in what is a clear attempt to “harass” and “intimidate” Jewish students and faculty on the campus, including the attempt to shut down an Israeli professor’s class? Will those — both students and non-students — who have been vandalizing campus buildings by spray-painting their anti-Israel and anti-Columbia messages on their walls be arrested as well? Until we see dozens of these antisemitic grobians arrested on the Columbia campus and carted off by the police in paddy wagons, we should not be satisfied.
Trump signed an executive order on Monday, his first day in office, vowing to protect Americans against non-citizens who “espouse hateful ideology” or “support designated foreign terrorists,” including by evaluating visa programs….
Surely those who want to bring about the destruction of the Jewish state, and the removal of its entire Jewish population by expulsion or death, are espousing a “hateful ideology.”And they are also offering their support to the “foreign terrorists” of Hamas, in calling for “intifada forever.” Those who believe, as an article of faith, that Muslims are the “best of peoples,” while non-Muslims are the “most vile of created beings,” are naturally a danger not just to Jews but to all non-Muslims. If those espousing such beliefs are American citizens, they should be fined or imprisoned, for they meet the requirement, set out in Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), of uttering speech that is likely to cause “imminent lawless violence.” If they are non-citizens, they ought to be expelled to their countries of origin.
The university administration struggled to tamp down tensions and implemented some counter-measures, including a task force on antisemitism.
President Armstrong, yet another task force, involving months of deliberations, is no substitute for firm action right now. Have the campus police or, better yet, the NYPD, round up the campus stormtroopers and throw the book at them. Trespass, vandalism, hate crimes, the works. Remember, Congress is watching. And Congress can use the power of the purse to provide, or withhold, federal funds from universities. All that we ask of Columbia’s administrators is this: No Springtime For Hitler this year, or for any year to come.

Merely deporting aliens advocating violence and lawlessness would be useless as this would leave them at large to re-infiltrate our country or else carry on their agitations in other Western countries lacking the will to counter them. A better solution would be prison sentences to be served at a special detention camp for hostile aliens established in a remote location, like St. Matthew’s Island, whose sub-Arctic climate would help cool their dispositions.

Can anybody check out how much money is donated to the university from Qatar because this ambivalence seems to have been planted a long time ago to be like a structural impediment. Concerning those American Universities, as Columbia University, and Colleges across the United States that have heads of those institutions ‘sold out” to the influence of the stealth jihadists, who are, no doubt, backed by oil rich nation as Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
