Analysts are saying that the mysterious national agreements signed between the US and Trinidad & Tobago “could be interpreted as preparations for a potential conflict in Venezuela, particularly considering tensions over the disputed Essequibo territory between Venezuela and Guyana.” It’s an area of “growing strategic importance.” Also, “Venezuela’s instability has prompted the United States to strengthen alliances with neighboring countries to ensure energy security.”
Trinidad is so close to Venezuela that the latter can be seen with the naked eye from Trinidad’s southeastern coast. The real threat coming from Venezuela is the fact that under the Nicolás Maduro government, Venezuela is a hotspot for Hizballah activity, a second home to Iran, and a dangerous back door to America. Consider the following headlines:
- Iran: Islamic regime eyes Venezuela as sanctuary for fallen leaders (December 2022)
- Israeli intelligence foils secret Hizballah drug smuggling operation in South America (March 2023)
- Iran, Venezuela and Syria sign groundbreaking tripartite deal to construct oil refinery in Homs (October 2023)
- Hizballah exploits cocaine, corruption and chaos in Venezuela as it expands operations in South America (August 2024)
NATIONAL Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds signed off on five agreements with the US on December 10, two of which can allow the US Department of Defense (DoD) to deploy forces to Trinidad and Tobago in the event of a “conflict” in Venezuela. https://t.co/S0X6RV128F

Venezuela has also “ramped up its military exercises in border areas and sought to strengthen ties with allies like Russia and China to counterbalance U.S. influence.”
The Maduro government has called the Trinidad & Tobago agreements with America “a direct threat and an example of U.S. ‘imperialist interference’ in the region.” Such language is typical of far leftist, socialist and Islamic supremacist regimes.
Venezuela poses an extreme threat to American interests, as Iran-backed networks prop up the Maduro regime; meanwhile, Hizballah has turned Venezuela into “a hub for the convergence of transnational organized crime and international terrorism.”
“Trinidad and Tobago Teams Up with the U.S.: A Bold Step for National Security Amid Venezuela’s Chaos,” by Maria Herrera Mellado, Gateway Hispanic, December 17, 2024:
The recent agreement signed between the United States and Trinidad and Tobago has sparked intense debate within the geopolitical context of Hispanic America.
At a time when Venezuela is undergoing a complex political transition, the renewal of bilateral security and defense agreements between the two island nations raises questions about Washington’s role in the region and the potential consequences for the South American country.
On December 10, 2024, U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) and the government of Trinidad and Tobago signed a series of agreements, including the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) and the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA).
These agreements allow for the deployment of U.S. troops on Trinidadian soil in the event of natural disasters or regional conflicts, including those in Venezuela. Additionally, they expand collaborations in energy, cybersecurity, and human rights, according to the U.S. Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago.
The SOFA, in place since 2007 and renewed several times, now includes new provisions that facilitate interoperability between the armed forces of both nations and eliminates expiration dates, solidifying indefinite cooperation between the two countries…..

Given that Russia couldn’t even defend an asset pretty important to it – Syria, Maduro would be stupid to think that Russia is in any position to support you. Iran too, given how Israel has destroyed their air force. His only hope is the Chicoms, so they had better be good if you wanna grab territory in Trinidad and Guyana
What he should do is ask the US to deport every member of Tren de Aragua, and conscript them in Venezuela’s army, before he decides to start a war
