On December 1, 2024, Islamist militants stormed the presidential palace of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in Aleppo. Sawt Beirut International Radio released a video showing the militants inside the palace, where they denounced Al-Assad, calling him a “dog” and exclaiming, “May he go to Hell.”
Militant: “We are inside the Presidential palace. Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! This is the bedroom of the dog [Bashar Al-Assad]… This is his Jacuzzi. Allah Akbar! Yes, it is a labyrinth. This is the master bedroom. Here it is… Even his phone is working. There is [a list] of numbers. Just a second. May he go to Hell. I’ll take you to the kitchen… Allah Akbar! Man, how many bedrooms are there? God… Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar!”

Assad and his followers are not foreigners to the land and have the help of empires to protect them. They can hold the land while the empires wipe out the radical terrorists. Assad has palaces in cities other than Damascus? I thought he & his clan were from northwest Syria, so if he had his own private estates, that’s where it would be

Assad had control of all of Syria for a long time, so he has palaces in several parts of the country.
