The media spin is even more pernicious than usual on this one. Much more below.
First, the spin itself:
“German Christmas market attack toll rises to five dead, over 200 injured,” by Kelsey Ables, Souad Mekhennet and Victoria Bisset, Washington Post, December 21, 2024:
At least five people were killed and more than 200 wounded after a man plowed a car into a Christmas market in the central German city of Magdeburg, a German official said Saturday, hours after authorities identified the suspect as Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, a 50-year-old Saudi doctor.
Reiner Haseloff, the premier of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, confirmed the new toll during a visit to the scene of the Friday’s incident, where he was accompanied by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Many of the wounded are critically injured, he added. A child is among the dead.
The suspect, Abdulmohsen, who arrived in Germany in 2006, had expressed anti-Islam views and described himself as a Saudi dissident, according to a German official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an open investigation….
And now, some facts that don’t fit the spin:
Despite claims made by the German press, Taleb Al Abdulmohsen is not an ex-Muslim atheist, nor is he a fan of the AfD or Elon Musk. While he may have spread this misinformation himself, it aligns with the practice of Taqqiye, an Islamic doctrine that permits lying and deception… pic.twitter.com/tU2tRS51Lr

Some of my own considerations:
1. Vehicular jihad is a well-established practice going back years. ISIS has called for it. It is not a common practice among any other criminal or terrorist sector.
2. Saudi Arabia, where the Magdeburg perpetrator is from, is a hotbed of jihad activity.
3. Islam has doctrines calling for warfare against unbelievers. See Qur’an 8:39, 9:5, 9:29, etc. etc.
4. Islam has doctrines calling for deception under certain circumstances. See here: jihadwatch.org/2022/06/niger-
5. Jihad groups have been calling for attacks on German Christmas Markets.
6. Several jihad plots against Christmas Markets have already been foiled.
7. Muslims recently marched through a German Christmas market screaming “Allahu akbar” and “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet.”
8. It seems that the perp has been claiming to be an ex-Muslim — and a Zionist! — and has contacted several anti-jihad media figures, asking them to interview him. This leads to several possibilities.
a. That he was a sincere ex-Muslim and Zionist, and decided to attack a target of jihadis in a manner in which jihadis often attack, for no clear reason.
b. He was lying, in preparation for his jihad attack.
c. He was a genuine ex-Muslim, but in a moment of personal crisis returned to Islam, and realized that he had to do a great deed to outweigh his apostasy on Allah’s big judgment scales (Qur’an 21:47). Muhammad teaches that no deed is greater than jihad, so he went for a jihad attack.
d. Or alternatively, he just snapped, has some psychotic episode, etc. In that case it’s noteworthy that his desire to seek “revenge” led him to emulate a common practice of the warriors of the religion he professed to have left.
Of those four possibilities, the first one is the least likely. Why? Because if he was an ex-Muslim who went mad, he would be much more likely to have targeted Muslims, rather than choosing a favored target of the very jihadis he despised. The establishment media will be insisting that he is an ex-Muslim and never consider the possibility of deception or a return to Islam. That’s because they don’t know about those possibilities and because they always do whatever they can to distance Islam from the violence done in its name and in accord with its teachings. But their claims in this case are quite flimsy.

Isis also proudly takes credit. Why would they go through this unnecessary charade?
Maybe he wants Germans to radicalise against Muslims. That would work quite well!

He is posing as an ex-Muslim. He wants to not just murder Infidels, but t0 blame it on apostates from Islam.

They’re fully aware of the value they derived of civilised countries bickering amongst themselves over which are the good ones. And we keep doing it.

It means none can be trusted. Especially ones like these who were wanted in their home countries.

That’s right , Engeland Invaded . None of them . We can’t take the risk .

Hé could be an undercover M.B.(moslim brotherhood ) agent who fabricated an excellent cover as a staunch anti-jihadi etcetera.

I recall that guy, who a few years ago, flew a plane into a building and the media hype was that he was ‘right’ and that he hated the ‘left.’ In actually, he was ‘left’ and hated the ‘right.’
When it comes to mozlums, they are even worse at pointing the fingers of blame at everyone except mozlums and the *reasons* mozlums have for murdering innocent people.
Someone in favor of Israel having a homeland, is not likely to take out anger over the issue on innocent children at a market, Christmas or otherwise.
An ex-mozlum isn’t likely to do what mozlims do to show his ex-mozlumness…murdering a bunch of innocent people.
The facts are: mozlums lie; mozlums murder innocent people for their false god and fake prophet; and nonmozlums lie on their behalf.
Has the pope weighed in?
Mick says
15 out of 19 of the 9/11 attackers were Sunni Saudis, opposed to the presence of US troops in Saudi. Who does he hate?
Saudi, Sunni, Germans, Sunni immigrants, the US for supporting Sunni against Shia since 1980?
Westman says
Zionist ex-Muslim? I’ve got this inexpensive bridge…..
Maybe this?:
e. He was prevaricating about being ex-Muslim to improve advancement options and the deception failed to bear fruit, leading instead to strained relations with Muslims, depression, and anger.- a midlife crisis. He then experienced a religious revival and decided on jihad/martyrdom to recover his position with Allah.
“We can do this!” – And how is that working out?
somehistory says
Sounds plausible. Lying to improve his personal options, it backfires with his fellow terrorists and he has to act fast or become a victim of his best buds’ fanaticism.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
A real ex-muslim may be a Zionist. Particularly one like Anjuli Panduvar who converted from islam to Judaism. But if one is a muslim on one of his taquiyya exercises like this Abdulmohsen, then yeah – your option e is certainly possible

Nothing so far makes any sense but we’ve still got 21 letters of the alphabet to go.
I mean, what’s sensible about making a public spectacle of yourself as an Islamic apostate in the midst of a million German Muslims? Protected? He doesn’t have Miss Hirst’s curves…come to think of it she has now converted to Christianity and talking on stage at a conference about her conversion I felt that she had been “lobotomised”. Weird. What’s going on with these apostates? Are they deeply afraid all of a sudden? Islam is such a fearful winged devil hanging over their lives and one morning they wake to the awfulness of the consequences of apostasy?
gravenimage says
Exactly, Westman.
Hoi Polloi says
Taqiyah from him & the dhimmi msm?
I know that I personally hate carnivores so much that my logical response is to mass-slaughter vegans and that the press will take great pride in presenting my actions in opposition to the obvious. As many say, we don’t hate the msm enough.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
One thing he’s managed to do is create a situation where even ex-muslims can’t be trusted, since real muslims can practice taquiyya just like this guy, pretend to be ex-muslims, effectively becoming Trojan horses. The public ones, like Ridvan, Hatun, et al may be trusted due to their outspoken denunciations of Islam. But any genuine muslim who has actually left islam but keeps a low profile out of fear of other muslims can no longer expect to be assumed as genuine when they present themselves to the non-muslim public in that manner
Really sly move from this Abdulmohsen guy: he’s managed to ensure that even those dissidents of islam will be treated w/ suspicion and not be allowed to integrate w/ the population they’re trying to get shelter in
Gurek says
You mean there is no place safe for ex-Muslims anymore? Both in the dar-al-islam and the dar-al-harb? Sounds about right. Now the anti-jihadists will be distrustful towards genuine ex-Muslims and they won’t be able to get asylum. This attacker has played a very dangerous game.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Yeah, I do feel bad for genuine ex-muslims, who will be under a cloud of suspicion for no fault of their own
somehistory says
Sadly, Infidel, what you say is true.
GianCarlo MATTA says
why didn’t that guy attack muslims in a mosque?
gravenimage says
True, Infidel. I’m sure that was part of the plan.

In Germany there are a lot of Muslims who pretend to have converted to Christianity.
By that they get.their asylum all inklusive. So you can never trust them.
Alternative they pretend being gay.
somehistory says
That was something isis was telling mozlums the world over to do in order to have an easy in. During bo, more Christians were turned away; but mozlums poured in to the U.s. because he is one of them. They didn’t need to pretend.
markus says
I don’t know much about this specific case, but sometimes, it is a case of non-Muslims imitating Muslims.
Some examples:
Breivik imitated Islamic terrorists.
Thomas Nick, the Rupperswil murderer, was inspired by Islam (he wrote a school paper on Islamic terrrorism)
gravenimage says
This guy never left islam, though.
Luchtpint says
Maybe this might just spark further debate on the Taqiyya precept within Islam in the media. But I am not getting my hopes up. The MSM will probably keep digging their heels in.
RCCA says
I wonder if he is going to plead the insanity defense? That would be amusing because it begs the question, is he insane because he rejected Islam or because he committed jihad? If he really did commit jihad, does jihad officially count (entrance to paradise) if no one knows it is a jihad? OTOH, if it looks like a jihad it is a jihad IMO. Germans will have to puzzle that one out themselves. Maybe he will have left clues in his home, literature, computer history, etc. about his real beliefs.
From the media reports he seems to have given the impression on social media that he’s been frustrated with the way Germany is treating ex-Muslims who want asylum. Therefore he became so angry he committed mass murder; so it’s Germany’s fault he’s acting out like a radical Muslim would. If they believe he’s really anti radical Islam, maybe they will believe the insanity defense.
One interesting detail, he chose not to wear a suicide vest, so he wasn’t ready to make the ultimate sacrifice and collect his reward.
Only a psychiatrist could be this f’d up, industrial strength. (Leads me to conclude he wants to screw around with people and show how much smarter he is than the Germans which is a trait of malignant narcissists). I do think he’s nuts and reverted to his devout roots. I wonder what his colleagues might have to say.
We’ve got some interesting genuine nut cases in the news lately. (This guy and Luigi.) This German/Saudi guy reminds me a bit of Nidal Hasan, who got devout after some personal traumas and challenges.
James Lincoln says
If Taleb al-Abdulmohsen is truly an “ex-Muslim”, he would have attacked a mosque – and perhaps burned a Koran for good measure.
99% chance that he is lying about being an apostate…

Media highlights that Magdeburg attacker had ‘anti-Islam views.’ The reality is more complex.

The Jihadist murderer is lying.
