Sometimes democracy needs a little help.
A point of evidence that we live in a political environment ruled by utterly corrupt narratives is that recently an Islamic terrorist group took over Syria at gunpoint to wide celebrations (mostly outside Syria) which was followed by the international community declaring that this was a very, very good thing, and recognizing the terrorists, whose credibility came entirely from seizing power, as the new Syrian government as if they had won some sort of election.
Ahmed al-Sharaa, better known as Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani, has said that elections might take four years to hold. And everyone kind of shrugged and nodded along understanding that being a terrorist leader is busy and it’s hard to schedule elections when you’ve got other things to do.
Probably better not to ask what those other things are.
Iraq managed to have its first elections in less than two years after the beginning of the Iraq War. Why can’t Syria do it? Don’t expect anyone in media or politics to ask that or most other questions like why we’ve recognized a formerly Al Qaeda-affiliated terror group as a government because they won a few battles with Turkish backing and what was obviously a lot of bribes.
The good news though is that democracy will probably work as well in Syria as it did in Iraq with ethnic and religious bloc votes dominating the country. That’s likely to mean Sunni Islamists.
But until those elections happen, Jolani’s HTS Jihadist group will be busy suppressing the Kurds, Alawites and any other minority group so that ‘democratic elections’ will work properly.

Man, Who Took Over Syria at Gunpoint Not Sure When He’ll Hold Elections”
Ahmed al-Sharaa, better known as Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani was member in these Islamic terrorist organizations ISIS, El Quada.
After he changed the way, of dressing and talking, the Western countries get deceived to the point that USA cancel the 10 million dollars as a reward for any who can gives information to be arrested.
Ahmed El Sharaa as a leader of the “province of Idlib who is located in northwest Syria”.
According to the sharia law he murdered over 1000 person.
And hundreds of thousands were arrested been tortured, beating, electric chock their bodies for refusing the sharia law.
Now in all Syria he started to burn churches asking under threat the Christians to convert to Islam the devilish religion or they must pay the GYZIA more taxes if not they will kill according to the sharia law.
Now if we elect under the United Nation the citizen of Syria which do you prefer as President Bashar Assad or Ahmed El Sharaa with his new makeup. Majorities will elect Bashar Assad as the best of the worse.
The difference Bashar Assad was a politic dictator against the terrorists who want to spread the sharia law.
But Ahmed El Sharaa is a religious dictator worse against who are refusing the sharia law especial the Christians.
The question:
Do USA with President Trump and the western countries can protect the Christians the owner of the land of Syria, with the Kurd and other minorities in Syria?
Or the western countries only protect the terrorists Muslims who are in everywhere in their countries?
“Less Muslims, less crimes, more secure.”
“Every Muslim is a timing bomb.”
“Our enemies who are living in USA are more danger, than our enemies who are not living in USA.”
“Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.”

The big deal coming is about current discussions with the Kurds whose land most of the oil reserves are located. I would think the Kurds would trade increased self governing rules for sharing oil sale proceeds with the national government. Otherwise Erdogan would send his military into Syria with blessings from the “central” government and take what they want for their friends headed by Ahmed al-Sharaa, better known as Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani. Stay tuned.

He doesn’t need to hold elections. At any rate, given that a majority of Syrians are still sunnis, his group will likely win any elections that are held, which will then lend a bigger legitimacy to his regime. Let us draw the line: whether or when Syria decides to have elections is none of our business. We should restrict ourselves to ensuring that the Christians, Kurds, Druze and Alawites don’t get massacred, but beyond that, it’s their country, and let them decide how it should be run
