A stabbing attack was averted in Jerusalem after a soldier on Monday shot down a knife-wielding terrorist. “According to police, the assailant got out of a vehicle on Sayeret Dukhifat Street in the capital and brandished a knife as a soldier passed by,” the Times of Israel reported. “The soldier opened fire at the suspect, seriously wounding him.”
The foiled stabbing attack comes as the Gaza-based jihadi group Hamas calls for an “escalation” of terrorist attacks against Israel.
Jihad by means of stabbing is a preferred mode of attack by Muslim terrorists across the world. Europe, with its open borders policies, has seen a surge in stabbing-jihad in the recent year. However, unlike Israel, the authorities in Europe are failing miserably at stemming the tide of these imported stabbing sprees. Knife attacks have skyrocketed in Germany since the recent spike in mass-migration largely from Muslim-majority Middle East and North Africa. The statistics from “states showed that there were a total number of 26,113 knife attacks in Germany in 2023,” German newspaper Die Süddeutsche Zeitung reported August 24, 2004.
“Suspected stabbing attack attempt in Jerusalem, suspect shot,” by Li Ayish, i24NEWS, December 23, 2024:
An attempted stabbing attack on Israeli security forces occurred at Jerusalem’s Pisgat Ze’ev neighborhood. The suspected terrorist, a resident of East Jerusalem in his 30s, was neutralized after he was shot in the leg. Magen David Adom teams arrived at the scene to assist in evacuating wounded.
A member of security forces was stabbed after stopping the car the suspect was in. The suspect exited his vehicle and advanced towards the guard with a knife in his hand. Despite cries and warnings at the suspect, he continued to advance while waving the knife in his hand. The security guard, along with two additional citizens who passed by, fired at the suspect.
Israel Police closed off the area and began collecting evidence, while medical personnel treated the wounded suspect who was evacuated in serious condition to the hospital.
Hamas praised the attempted attack (..).

Good for the soldier, alert to the danger.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
Why was he shot in the leg? Why not shoot to kill?
somehistory says
If shot in the upper thigh, hit the artery, and death can happen fairly fast….through massive blood loss.
Condor says
If he dies, dead men tell no tales!
James Lincoln says
Yes, somehistory.
If you hit that big bad femoral artery…

I think all the soldier was thinking about was stopping the terrorist. In real life the target doesnt just stand still like they do at the range while you take a carefully aimed shot at him. He quickly acquired the target and stopped it before the guy could stab him. He did a qood job.

Like that old saying goes. “Never bring a knife to a gun fight.” That perp will spill his guts when the IDF gets done with him…

Good. But Israel needs to have its own version of the Second Amendment, and average citizens should be allowed to carry guns, after being suitably trained in them
Mike says
Infidel: you got that correct!
James Lincoln says
Yes, Infidel.
And due to October 7th, NO muslims should ever again be allowed into Israel.
None – no work visas, etc.
They had their multiple chances – and blew it.
St Croix says
It says two other citizens also fired on the terrorist. Didn’t I hear something about many more Israelis carrying now, with gov’t encouragement? Many have been in the IDF, they are allowed to do so, and regular citizens as well if they have training? Some things may have changed since Oct 7 to encourage defense, I’m not sure. I don’t think it would apply to the Muslim population within the borders. They’ve got a lot to deal with in the situation, every citizen is not to be automatically trusted!

I also read a few months ago that the government was encouraging private citizens to begin carrying so they could defend themselves against the mozlums among them..
