Biden regime’s ‘Islamophobia’ initiative is ‘a conscious effort to balance a genuine problem with one that is bogus’

I’ve been making many of the same arguments for many years, but have been vilified, demonized, and marginalized as an “Islamophobe” even for daring to question the legitimacy of the entire “Islamophobia” propaganda scheme. Tobin makes many good points here, but shows himself susceptible to charges of “Islamophobia” when he treads over-delicately around the problem here, referring to “Islamist terrorism” as “rooted in a widely popular, though not universally supported, version of that faith that had mainstream support in much of the Arab and Muslim world.”

As I have demonstrated innumerable times at this website and in numerous books, “Islamist terrorism” is not just rooted in a “widely popular” version of Islam. It is, rather, rooted in the mainstream understanding of Islam, not just today, but throughout the history of Islam. To pretend that it is a newly minted and inexplicably popular understanding of Islam is to ignore the clear record of Islamic theology, particularly mainstream interpretation of the Qur’an, and Islamic history. I’d be happy to have an amicable discussion of these issues in an open forum with Jonathan S. Tobin, but such a discussion is likely never to take place. And why? Because Tobin will not see this invitation, due to blocks on this website from social media giants that reduce the reach of what they consider to be “Islamophobic” sites. Or in the unlikely event that he does see it, he is likely to be advised not to have any association with a known “Islamophobe.” These facts indicate how far the “Islamophobia” narrative has advanced, as bogus as it indeed is.

It’s possible to argue that anything the Biden-Harris administration does in its final weeks in office is irrelevant and may soon be overturned by President-elect Donald Trump once he is sworn in next month. That may well apply to the announcement last week of a “National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia and Anti-Arab Hate,” issued by the White House. It is nonetheless noteworthy because it reinforces the myth about an American epidemic of anti-Muslim and anti-Arab hate that is routinely published and broadcast by the mainstream media. Equally important, it gives the imprimatur of government approval to a false analogy to the very real problem of antisemitism about which Biden and Harris also issued a “National Strategy” paper last year.

Any discussion of Islamophobia in America must be prefaced by an acknowledgment that hatred directed against racial, ethnic and religious minorities exists. And like any form of prejudice that leads to discrimination or violence, it is deplorable.

Even as we condemn any act in which an Arab or Muslim-American is targeted because of their ethnicity or faith, it is essential to understand that the attention given to Islamophobia is not being driven by anything that could accurately be described as a crisis. Rather, it is part of a false narrative that seeks to divert us from an unpleasant but vital fact about the subject. Most of what those who promote this issue consider Islamophobia is not anti-Muslim or anti-Arab hatred but merely criticism of Muslim and Arab hatred of Jews.

A fake problem

So, while the lame duck administration’s report may be considered a pious affirmation of opposition to prejudice, it doesn’t deserve even the tepid applause it has received. On the contrary, it is a conscious effort to balance a genuine problem with one that is bogus. And in doing so, it undermines the minimal and largely ineffective efforts undertaken by the government to address the very real surge in Jew-hatred that has been building in recent years and then exploded after the Hamas-led terrorist attacks in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

The notion of an Islamophobia crisis in the United States dates back to the aftermath of the terror attacks carried out by Islamists on Sept. 11, 2001. Seeking to build a broad international alliance against Muslim extremists, President George W. Bush took pains to differentiate what he described as a “war on terror” from a war against Islam. At every possible opportunity, he always described Islam as a “religion of peace,” emphasizing that the efforts to destroy Al-Qaeda and the subsequent military campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq were not a civilizational clash between the West and Islam. This was technically accurate about the nation’s post-9/11 foreign policy and security goals as well as a reflection of the basic decency of both Bush personally and America’s modern political culture that opposes religious prejudice.

But the harping on the “religion of peace” line tended to obscure the fact that Islamist terrorism was not just the bad behavior of a tiny minority. It was rooted in a widely popular, though not universally supported, version of that faith that had mainstream support in much of the Arab and Muslim world….

  1. Men like Jonathan S. Tobin do non-Muslims and Muslims alike disservice by tiptoeing around the truth. He’s old enough to stop being afraid. He should come right out like Robert has for years and say the obvious backed by Al Azhar University Cairo Egypt. Orthodox Islam is the problem. The number of Muslims who follow orthodox teachings to the letter while small is not the point. It only takes one jihadist and and handful of supporters and a silent majority of Muslims over time to cause chaos and bring about slow revolution and cultural suicide. That is the Islamic playbook and Tobin is falling into the trap, like so many others before him. He thinks he is saying something profound but he ignores the truth and that is where the solution lies and the power the West has over Islam. For goodness sakes, has he not even read the Quran? John Q. Adams figured it out two centuries ago by reading the ‘holy book’ of Islam all by himself; search for his ‘Essay On The Turks’.

  2. It seems that so many get a major thing right and then throw in a line or two of propaganda which helps to make islam acceptable.

    All of islam….not just a tiny bit, not just a *radical* part, not a *hijacked* part….is evil through and through and its adherents are bound and determined to make the entire world bow to the beast.

    One of the tools/weapons mozlums use to reach that goal is called a “phobia.” Within that fake entity are the claims of ‘bias, bigotry, discrimination, hatred, and racism, along with hate speech.’

    People come in all shapes, sizes, mental capacity, strengths, etc. And each one has their own feelings which should not be dictated by others. Freedom to think, believe and feel should be recognized.
    Yet, mozlums are of the mindset….universal….that everyone should be forced to accept and even like them and those who don’t, have no rights or freedoms..

    mozlums are unable to force everyone to like them, so they call the dislike the dreaded ‘phobia.’
    They whine that they are hated, and especially so after one or more of their own commits a terror act.

    Now governments around the globe, with few exceptions, have taken up the banner and are helping the rabid mozlums….the ones who want to enslave us to the wild beast…take away our Rights.

    The Freedom of Speech, the Freedom of Religion, even the Freedom of thought are under attack because mozlums are insisting that they are the only humans with any rights whatsoever. Their feelings are the only ones which matter; their lives are the only ones worth protecting.

    “Not universally supported” is misleading. It essentially is fringe groups, such as maybe quran-only muslims, or people of the former Soviet -stans, who don’t on the surface endorse the bad behavior of the “widely popular” version of that “faith”. One just has to do a casual survey of muslim countries and the extent to which non-muslims fully enjoy religious freedoms. The -stans are one example, Emirates and Bahrein two more, and…. that’s about it! A couple of weeks ago, one could have included Syria in the list, but not any more

    Tobin, while praising both Bush and the American public, failed to note that it was Bush’s emphatic de-coupling of islam from jihad terror that caused a major prolonging of this “war on terror”, particularly the fiascos in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Equally problematic was his failure to note that most of the anti-Semitism in both Europe and the US & Canada was driven primarily by muslims in all these countries, even if the Leftists as well as anti-Semites on the Right amplified their voices

    The one thing that Tobin got right was at the end, when he denounced the moral equivalence people drew b/w antisemitism and islamophobia

      • That’s a vid of the beautiful young French girl waiting on a bus stop bench only to have a muslim walk up behind her and urinate in her hair, laughing hysterically as he shows and empties his unit. She can’t now, however, oppose islamic misogyny without being targeted.
