Members of the GOP are rightly outraged, while Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has vowed to buy the pieces of the border wall that are being “sold for peanuts,” and give them to Trump.
The Biden administration’s motive is captured succinctly by Arizona Republican Representative Eli Crane:
The Biden Administration is well aware they shouldn’t have reversed the construction of the border wall…they’re purposefully hamstringing an incoming president, it wouldn’t be shocking…Why would they want to see President Trump succeed with policies they aggressively sabotaged?
The incoming president faces ever more vicious, relentless attacks from the same Democrats who have been out to get him for years.

“They are taking it from three stations: Nogales, Tucson and Three Points,” a border patrol agent told the outlet on condition of anonymity. “The goal is to move all of it off the border before Christmas.”

Historically, every outgoing administration, including Clinton’s (w/ the exception of the missing “W’s” on some computer keyboards) has been pretty gracious about the transition, working w/ the incoming administration to hand over power, and not starting new initiatives that conflicted w/ the policies of the latter. Obama started a bad trend of initiating an anti-Israel resolution at the UN, as well as setting the FBI on Trump, and Biden’s staffers have just made this worse
What I’d like Trump to do is have Congress do a constitutional amendment that moves the swearing in of the new president to a week, rather than 2 months after the election. Also make it illegal for the outgoing president to issue new pardons after election day, or initiate any new policies. Ideally, he can start it w/ his term: if JD Vance or whoever wins the election in 2028, then Trump can hand over to him that following week itself, even if it ends up trimming his term by 2 months. We’ve entered an era where governments have forgotten how to respect the will of the people

It has never made sense to me that a new guy is elected, but the old guy gets to do some dirty dealing for two months plus, after the election.
Pardons for crooked judges, pharmacy guys who water down meds for profit, spies, mozlum murderers, etc. and the crooked ways he’s throwing monkey wrenches around as well as the dems in Congress wheeling and dealing so the **Public** as in “We the People” don’t get what was voted for.

I never use the argument that “others do/n’t it, but every other country in the world hands over power the very next day. Typically, the incoming president/prime minister (depending on the type of government) gets sworn in first, along w/ some of his top aides, and if he isn’t fully staffed, the rest of his cabinet is expanded later. Sometimes, if it’s a coalition government, like in Israel, there is a lot of horse-trading for leaders of other parties to get their share of the pie. Only thing similar to the US: bureaucrats remain in their perches, although the new government has the power to flip them later
The US is unique in giving almost 3 months to the president-elect to put together his team. It worked well in the past, since outgoing presidents usually had the decency to recognize that their term was over, and that it was time to transition, not start new projects. However, it has been different, slightly under Obama but significantly under Biden, and so it’s now a good time to take a fresh look at this, and make the sort of changes I suggested above

I would love someone to buy a truckload of these steel posts and then return them by dropping them off at the Biden home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and explain “You sold me defective rusting steel.
