In a continued action against the Hindu community in Bangladesh, two more ISKCON monks were arrested in Chattogram when they went to deliver food to Chinmoy Krishna Das, whose arrest led to widespread protests in the country, including strong voices from India.
This comes as a flurry of attacks on the Hindu community in the neighbouring nation in recent months which also included vandalisation of temples and idols of deities. On November 25, Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested on sedition charges alleging disrespect to the national flag. He was also denied bail by the court, drawing a sharp reaction from India which urged the Yunus government to ensure the safety of minorities.

Muhammad Yunus is definitely not a man of peace. He is secretly encouraging the persecution of Hindus and other religious minorities. He is a staunch islamist and everything that’s happening now in Bangladesh under his caretaker watch is because he is encouraging it and supporting it.
He should be stripped off the Nobel Peace Prize because he brought disgrace to that honoured prize.

I checked, and it’s not possible to revoke a Nobel Prize. Neither Alfred Nobel’s will nor the Statutes of the Nobel committee make any mention of it. I remember that there was a call on the Nobel Committee to strip former Burmese prime minister Aung San Suu Kyi due to the Burmese operations against Rohingyas in 2016. Some of the international awards that she had previously been awarded were revoked, but not this one, probably for that very reason
I never understood why Mohammed Yunus got a Nobel Peace Prize. The reasons for him getting it was founding the Grameen Bank and laying out the concepts of microcredit and microfinancing. That sounds to me like an achievement in Economics, so he ought to have gotten the Nobel Prize in Economics, if he had to get that prize at all. At least it would be intellectually harder to demand that that prize be revoked, since one’s grasp of economics would have little to do w/ one’s grasp of peace and human rights
At any rate, don’t bother about the Nobel Prize. It’s tainted, w/ the likes of former winners like Yasser Arafat, Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter, Algore, Shirin Ebadi, Barack OBama, Mohamed El Baradei, Malala Yousufzai, & maybe a few others

I was born in Bangladesh and lived 30 years of my life in the country before dusting the soil of my feet and immigrating to Canada. When I was serving for the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan I made 3 trips to Bangladesh and was amazed to see the progress they had made under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Today…. it’s all down the drain and destroyed. Thanks to Mohammed Yunus.
And regarding the Grameen Bank (Grameen means Village in Bengali language)… that was a scam. Yunus scammed thousands of Bengalis through the Grameen Bank. I personally know a few people who lost their life’s saving and saving they inherited from their parents and grandparents…. Thanks to Mohammed Yunus ..

For the record, it already is one. In 1988, its constitution was amended to switch it from secular to islamic, and that ended the pretense it had since 1971 of being a secular country

3 of my grandparents were from pre-1947 East Bengal, and my entire mom’s side of the family spoke that dialect. My dad’s side was different, since my paternal grandfather died early, and so my grandma, who was from rural West Bengal, influenced that side of my family. To this day, when in India, that’s the part of my family that I identify it
Most West Bengalis believe that language trumps religion (something I never believed when I was an Indian citizen, and don’t believe now either), & therefore identified more w/ Bangladeshis than non-Bengali Indians. Result is that they treat Bangladesh like it’s a normal country where one can just travel like in other Indian states, albeit w/ a passport. They’re finding out now the real sentiments of Bengali muslims. Just yesterday, on X, I saw a couple of tweets about 2 West Bengali non-muslims who went to Bangladesh, got beaten up & robbed for being Hindu, and managed to hightail it back to India
Another thing I’ve seen: finally, Indians are starting to demonstrate against Bangladesh after the Indian flag, along w/ the US & Israeli flags, were trampled on at the entrance of some colleges in that country. A couple of clinics have already announced that they will no longer be treating Bangladeshi patients, and a campaign to boycott Bangladesh has finally started. While this is welcome, I do deplore the fact that for the last 3 years, the persecution of Hindus and the attacks on Hindu temples, including the desecration of Hindu deities, did not invoke that reaction from Hindus in West Bengal, Assam or Tripura. Personally, I am disgusted, and refuse to consider them my “ilk”
The final thing is that all Indian parties, from Left to Right, are silent about this. Yesterday, I saw a retired Indian armyman, who’s a defense expert, outline what a military operation in Bangladesh would look like. His recommended plan of action to end the Hindu genocide there was to split that country into two, the way it was done in 1971, and make one of the countries an exclusively Hindu country. It looked like a good plan, except that India doesn’t have a single political party that gives a f🤬 about Hindus, be it in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kashmir, Manipur, Bengal, Kerala or anywhere else

But while a lot of people are fans of Indira Gandhi, I’m not, given her secular tendencies and decision to trust Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After all, in 1946, the latter was a major player in Direct Action Day, which was a day of genocide all over Bengal, particularly in Noahkhali and an attempted genocide in Calcutta, which was reversed b’cos a whole group of Hindus – both Bengali and non-Bengali – united and took the fight to them, and that led to Viceroy Archibald Wavell dismissing the Suhrawardy government. That’s Bangladesh – if any lawyer wants to bat for Hindus, they are targeted and eliminated. As a result, Chinmoy Das is imprisoned, not b’cos he’s guilty of anything, but b’cos it’s impossible to give him due process
It’s high time the “international community” (sans maybe OIC countries) recognizes Bangladesh as a failed state, a pariah state – the same way many recognize Somalia or Afghanistan or Yemen

This is happening in Bangladesh while a country with 1.1B Hindu population in India right to its neighborhood is just silently watching. Where is the UN? Where is the Human Rights? Why is the ICC who issued arrest warrant against Israeli PM to just defend his country from blood thirsty terrorist not issuing arrest warrant against Bangladeshi government authorities committing such atrocities against their minorities? But again if India a country with 1B Hindu population does not interfere, what would other countries do? India must interfere for defending the Hindus of Bangladesh, but seems like government got their votes and fulfill their agenda to rule for 3rd time and have no interest in saving lives of Hindus in neighbouring countries.
