“Christmas services get death threats in Bangladesh,” Open Doors, December 19, 2024:
…Just a few days ago, these churches received a letter from a local hard-line Muslim political party. The letter contained disturbing and frightening words regarding the church’s plans for their Christmas celebration on 25 December.
The letter said: “In the last few years, our organisation (political party) in Rangpur District and its eight sub-districts humbly requested for you in many different ways to not conduct your religious activities, but it did not work. Now, we are going to take stronger action – Inshallah [Allah willing]. Apart from this, in Rangpur city municipal corporations, those who have been converting from Islam to Christianity, we have a list of your leader’s names. We believe very soon we will get the proper permissions to take actions against those on this list – Inshallah. On Christmas day, at the same time together in 64 Districts, we have plans for that night.”
“We are coming for you – anytime and anywhere.”
The letter also stated: “Many local people have complained against you. You have been converting Muslim people to Christianity for a long time by luring them with money. We know you have baptised hundreds of people in a pool inside your campus. Get ready with your perfect answers when questioned on these matters. We are coming for you – anytime and anywhere.
“Also, you are not going to enjoy your upcoming Christmas meal – before eating remember to say your goodbyes to all your family members and to the world. Alongside this, we give a very special farewell to those who have converted from Islam to Christianity in the Rangpur district.”….

What we need to do – what I’m going to call for – is a complete boycott of Bangladesh. Normally, I wouldn’t ask anybody to contribute anything, since it may fall outside their financial capacity to do something. But this one is a no-brainer: whatever else you do w/ your money, do not spend it on anything made in Bangladesh. For now, the only item to look out for is apparel, since that’s the only thing in the US – aside from some niche ethnic foods – that one will find made in Bangladesh
And you’re right: all aid to Bangladesh at least from non-muslim countries need to end. Let them take their panhandling activities to Qatar

Good summary of islam and from someone who has had to live in a Muslim dominated country. How do Buddhists do in Bangladesh. The reason I ask is that I had a doctor here in Australia who was a Buddhist from Bangladesh and she was a wonderful person and doctor. I guess the Buddhists would have been treated appallingly just like the Hindus and Christians are treated. If they have power, Muslims treat non Muslims appallingly and yet we treat Muslims well in our countries. They don’t deserve to be treated well.

During the 1971 genocide, Christians went out of their way to help Hindus (they were among the main targets of the Pakistan islamic army). Christians of Bangladesh have always been very close friends with Hindus and Buddhists. So, please don’t spew your crap here. I still have a lot of Hindu and Buddhist friends in Bangladesh (Chittagong & Dhaka) and I still communicate with them and I know what’s happening there.
I live in North America and I am a member of an eight member (2 Canadians and 6 Americans) South Asian Anti-Terrorism Task Force.

Christ taught His disciples to show kindness and love, and He never told His disciples….and through them, others….to force anyone to join them in Christianity. In fact, when He spoke to someone who didn’t want to follow Him, He did not run after them or curse them.
And when two of His apostles wanted to stop another man from preaching what he thought was right, Jesus told the two to leave the man alone.
Christians who get it correct, do not make choices for others as it seems some in India do. Those ones are *not* accurately following Christ. And if they don’t have a correct understanding, they can’t pass a correct understanding to the ones they ‘convert.’

While their own brothers enjoy free household and electricity and gas and education in India and some western countries.
