Afghanistan: Taliban arrest a man for homosexuality and then rape him in prison

You might wonder why the Taliban would arrest a man for homosexuality and then rape him. The idea was to humiliate and degrade him. As long as the rapist doesn’t declare he is “gay,” and as long as he marries and has children, all will be well.

It was the early hours of the morning when a guard entered Sohrab’s cell – a small, dark room with a barred window and a blanket on the floor – in Kabul’s sprawling Pul-e-Charkhi prison last August.

The 19-year-old was escorted to another room in the complex, where he heard a Taliban member order the prison guards to leave and stop anyone else from entering. Panic set in, for Sohrab knew what these words often preceded. He had experienced physical violence at the hands of the Taliban before.

“He grabbed me from behind, tore my clothes apart and raped me,” Sohrab – whose name has been changed for security reasons – told CNN in October. “For several days after that I had severe pain and bleeding.”

Sohrab was being detained at Pul-e-Charkhi on the charge of sodomy, after family members found out about his and his boyfriend’s clandestine romance last year, he said. News of their relationship had spread through their tight-knit community, leading to his arrest and forced confession.

Sohrab spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity, following his release from prison after two months. On his release, Sohrab said the Taliban warned that if he was arrested again, he would face execution….

    Conversely, why would Gay Afghans complain if subject to a homosexual treatment? Just b’cos they’re not getting their choice of partners? Otoh, they could do everything Gays do, but just not call themselves Gays. Sorta like the Saudis 😈

    • Not to mention the widespread raping of young Bacha Bazi boys in Afghanistan. I think it’s likely a problem in Pakistan as well.

      • It’s not just in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Hasn’t everyone heard of the “chop shops” in Saudi Arabia from a Muslim woman who used to live there? All the Muslims know about the Saudi chop shops after Friday prayers, according to Holy Humanist on YouTube. They just walk past it and are unconcerned about what goes on there, and it’s not just for homosexuals.

    • Infidel–with all respect–this would be like asking a heterosexual woman why she would mind being raped, since she likes sleeping with men, even if just with her husband. Rapists are just not “her choice of partners”.

      And I’m sure it is even worse than this impies–this poor man is likely being beaten and abused in other ways, as well.

      And then, he may not even be homosexual (not that it excuses his assailants’ behavior if he is). In Iraq teenagers were murdered for being gay–and the “proof” was that they liked poetry, were friendly with girls, or wore a goatee rather than a full beard. Of course, this also describes many heterosexual men and boys.

    • That is true of the Western “Queers for Palestine” idiots. But I imagine that the victim here is Afghan, and was just stuck there.

    • Yes–just perverse insanity. We never sent money to the Taliban before Biden considered it a good idea. And this was *after* we’d fought these barbarians for over 20 years and they killed many Americans.

  4. Unlikely report. I question the authenticity of the report and it actually taking place.

    First because it is by CNN.
    Second because the victim likely:
    a) would not be alive, after what happened to him
    b) if he would be alive, making such an anonym statement would mean his death sentence.
    Because they keep tabs on the released homosexuals.
    And if one of them did such an anonym report, they would execute all of them.
    Which the local homosexual community would likely not risk. Not to mention they even reveal his age, the time he was released…Basicly they give every possible indirect information to be able to figure out who gave the report.

    So sad to say but this is likely a report that was made up by CNN.
    If it was truely and actually really what happened, and this is the way CNN told it, i can only congratulate to them being such amateurs.
    But i still feel more like this is just a propaganda article they made up. Not sure why though since there are many far worse events happening under the Taliban rule they could honestly report about.

      I don’t think you’ve visited Afghanistan however, I do think you are either naive or you’re just saying for the sake of saying.

      I was in every part of Afghanistan from 2004 to 2012…… 1-1/2 years with our military and 6-1/2 years in high position in the UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) and UNWFP (United Nations World Food Programme). During my time in UNOPS, I inspected the condition of Pol-e-Charki prison. I’ve seen what the inside of that prison looks like. It was badly damaged during the afghan – Soviet war. The UN restored that prison as the number of prisoners, rapists and murderers were mounting and they needed a bigger prison to hold them. Pol-e-Charki prison is known as the Alcatraz of Asia. It is a huge prison that can be viewed from space. You can check it out on Google Earth.

      During my total 8 years there, I’ve seen and heard it all. Men buggering young boys and men in what they call Bacha Bazi. In Islam you don’t necessarily have to be gay to have sex with another male. Afghanistan may be Islamic… but majority of the die hard muslim never miss a chance to bugger another male they fancy. That’s a fact. The same is practiced in Pakistan and in Bangladesh.

Sadly, it is well known that the Taliban and Hamas and actually like the “illegals” crossing our border that MEN rape men all the time, all children boys or girls and women are considered subject to RAPE because Rape is considered a form of violence and degradation which is why RAPE is common in MEN’s prisons as well.
    We lived a extremely hate filled world. Christians must NEVER GIVE AN INCH to this form of evil. Of course an American, Christian woman I have been aware of this for many years and am always aware of my surroundings growing up near a military base near D.C. I didn’t bother to read the whole article or read the graphic parts: just the headline. I don’t need to know or pollute my mind details. Binding SATANIC action in Jesus’ name.

  6. I saw the comment by the person who didn’t believe this report: don’t be so naive. When I was in Canada I met a man who had served in the Russian army (he was Orthodox Christian and I was taking care of a friends mom for two weeks). After Church we all went out to lunch and he told me about Russian soldiers who were raped in Afghanistan when they caught by local Islamic extremist. That was a FIRST HAND report. I won’t say more than that. IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT WHAT ARE STANDARD NORMS for the rest of the world do NOT APPLY to Islamic extremists who appear to be fully brainwashed and are part of Death cult called Islam. Flat out.

      Thank you for your reply.
      I am from a country that was a member of the Warsaw Pact.
      I am usually anything but naive in these matters. I probably know more about the attrocities that the nazis, the red army, and the allied forces committed during and after the 2nd world war than you can imagine. (Since a number of my relatives had served in our country’s that time army and those that survived, managed to survive the camps too. For instance the most cruel place for a POW was not the russian camps, but the french POW camps after germany capitulated. You had a higher chance to get out of the gulags than to survive a PoW camp managed by the french. I also heard from first hand what red terror meant. Both by our own red countryman and the Red Army. So it is not hard to imagine that a barbaric culture from the middle ages is able to outperform them given the option.)

      I think you misunderstand what i meant in my reply.
      I meant that i do not believe that CNN actually did such a report, because the person giving this report would sign his own death sentence.
      I am not questioning that such events happen in Afghanistan under the taliban rule, and in a multitude of other countries that are ruled by islam.

      I am questioning the authenticity of the report that was done by CNN.
      Because if you think about it rationally, everything stated in this short article about the report would make it really easy to figure out which of the captured homosexuals gave the report.
      Real age, approxametly when he was released-> this is already enough to narrow it down. And for the Taliban killing one or 200 homosexuals to make an example out of them does not matter. Or killing their families. For them it is just business as usual.

      These are the things that make it unlikely that this report is actually true.
      The only way that this COULD be believable is, if the person who gave the report already left Afghanistan (and not towards Pakistan) and went to some country where he can safely give such a report.
      But this is not mentioned anywhere. (Or i was blind and did not notice it.)

      So as i mentioned i do not believe this report was actually done by CNN. They just dusted some kind of a report they got somewhere, formed an imaginary report about it and broadcasted it like they did a report with the victim. As they will never provide the details – because they can recite that they are protecting their source this way – we will never know the truth, thus it allows them to fabricate in any way they wish. And any source that reports about the attrocities the taliban commit is actually risking their own and their extended family’s life.

      With this i meant i do not understand why they are singling out this story, and providing it in this amateurish way.

      There are far worse things happening which would be worth reporting about, and this kind of story is actually a low impact story. Objectively speaking, most will not even raise an eyebrow and just shrug that these things happen. (As sad as it sounds, sadly that this is a low impact story holds more truth than you can imagine:( )

      • I don’t always like CNN’s editorial opinions, but the claim that they are making up stories to make Islam look bad is highly implausible.

        Then, there have been lots of simliar reports from victims who have escaped.

Ask the terrorist and terror supporters at the terror org CAIR. Doug Hooper (comms director) is especially gay, and has indicated that he joined the Religion of Peace (RoP) was because it supports gay men having sex with other men.

    Sick stuff–but completely Islamic. Raping boys or raping to humiliate is completely Islamic–it is consensual same sex, especially if there is any affection, that is what is Haram.
