Another disheartening dispatch from the front — this time it is Germany, where the police have just stormed a flat because someone living in it had apparently reposted on X a picture depicting Robert Habeck, the economy minister, over the word “moron.” That single repost of a rather mild insult was enough to bring the police out in force, arriving at dawn at the house of the reposter. But when a Syrian immigrant in Germany celebrated the Holocaust and called for the rape of a Jewish citizen, the criminal proceedings were dropped. More on this double standard as to online hate speech can be found here: “Read what you can’t get a house search for: glorifying the Holocaust and threatening rape – the alleged perpetrator is a Syrian,” translated from “Lesen Sie mal, wofür man keine Hausdurchsuchung bekommt: Holocaustverherrlichung und Vergewaltigungsdrohung – mutmaßlicher Täter ein Syrer,” by Felix Perrefort, Nius, November 22, 2024 (thanks to Medforth):
Does the judiciary apply double standards when it comes to online hate?
The “moron” affair is causing a stir. The government has been under criticism for a few days because it has come to light how often citizens have to deal with state power over trivial matters. In contrast, the public prosecutor’s office seems to be showing conspicuous leniency when it comes to online crimes committed by migrants.
While a retweet of an internet picture depicting Robert Habeck as a “idiot professional” can lead to the police being on your doorstep at dawn, a Syrian will probably get away scot-free, even though he justified the Holocaust and severely insulted a woman, threatened to rape her and frightened her. All this happened on the Israeli embassy’s Facebook page.
What exactly happened? Shortly after the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023, a Syrian welcomed and glorified the Holocaust on the Israeli embassy’s page: He wrote: “Nero also killed millions and burned the whole of Rome. Why should it be sad to burn 6 million Jews?”
He also threatened a woman, Lisa A. (name changed), with a brutal rape threat: “I didn’t know how sick and disgusting you are until I looked you up on Facebook. It’s a pity I don’t know your address, otherwise I would come to you with my horse. My horse would raise you well with his piece, which your damned parents couldn’t manage. F**k you, b***h.” He followed up with: “B***h.”
According to NIUS information, the alleged perpetrator was born in Syria and naturalized: He has German citizenship.
An investigation was initiated…
What happened then? The victim of these crimes, Lisa A., pulled out all the stops to make sure something happened: First, Lisa A. informed the Hesse Reporting Office against Incitement and filed a criminal complaint with the Saxony-Anhalt Online Watch. Then an investigation was initiated because the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Frankfurt considered the horrific comments worthy of prosecution. It handed the matter over to the public prosecutor’s office in Halle, where the alleged perpetrator lives. From there it was forwarded to the Berlin State Criminal Police Office so that Lisa A. could be questioned on the matter.
… and closed again – it could also have been the brother
On June 12, 2024, the investigation was finally closed, as Lisa A. found out when asked. NIUS has the letter, which states:“In response to your request, we are informed that the proceedings have been discontinued due to a lack of sufficient suspicion. As a result, it could not be ruled out that the criminal post was written by someone other than the accused.”
This “other” is the accused’s brother. The prosecutor’s theory: The (now deleted) Facebook account from which the crimes originated is: “alex.hema. 16”. The accused’s brother’s middle name is “Iskander”, which is the Persian version of “Alexander.” Therefore, it could also be the brother, according to the judiciary. However, no investigations were initiated against him.
A complaint by Lisa A. against the discontinuation of the investigation was ultimately unsuccessful. The Attorney General of Saxony-Anhalt sticks to the theory that it could also have been the brother. The final status: no investigations. The crimes have no consequences for the perpetrator. Lisa A. told NIUS: “Before the public prosecutor’s office started practicing onomastics [name research, editor’s note], it could have ordered a house search. For me, the public prosecutor’s office in Halle is a complete misfit. These people should not have any decision-making power – that’s how I see it.”
Are there double standards?
Questions remain unanswered: Why was no house search ordered, which would be entirely appropriate in cases of trivialization of the Holocaust and threats of rape? Why were the Syrian brothers not questioned to determine which of the two committed the anti-Semitic and misogynistic crimes?
How can that be, when even trivialities like an “idiot” meme are enough for Robert Habeck to allow house searches? Are there double standards when the perpetrators are migrants? The suspicion is obvious.
A double standard? Of course. A Syrian immigrant can mock or trivialize the Holocaust, he can make a threat to have his horse rape someone, and in Germany today, nothing will happen to him. But if you merely retweet an image of Economy Minister Robert Habeck over the heading “moron,” the police will swarm into your house at dawn, search the premises, seeking to find further incriminating evidence of your “hate crime.”
In 2015, then-Chancellor Angela Merkel, eager to convince her countryman that they should welcome close to a million Muslims into Germany that year, exclaimed optimistically in a speech to her people that “Wir Schaffen Das!” or “We Can Do This.” No, it turns out, neither Germany, nor any other country in Western Europe, has been able to “do this” — that is, successfully integrate the Muslim migrants who have swarmed into their lands. Instead, the authorities in these countries are treating Muslims with kid gloves — just look at the Holocaust trivializer spewing his hate on the website of the Israeli Embassy, and threatening the bestial rape of a woman who had angered him (I suspect she had infuriated him by defending Israel), against whom no charges were made. But should you retweet a mildly mocking description — “moron” — of a cabinet minister, die Polizei will bang on your door at dawn, ready to charge you with a “hate crime.”

Horrible and disgusting. Germany, like France and others, have always been concerned with “Holocaust Deniers” and passed strict laws punishing writers who argue that the Holocaust is not factual as it is described and it was a much less than genocide then as it is presented. Now what do you do who argues that “yes, over 6 million Jews were murdered and that is a good thing. Wish it were 7 million and no more were left.”
That person in Germany is not arrested, charged with anything and I am sure that deportation is never mentioned. To add to his celebration of 6 million Jews murdered in the WW II Holocaust he adds the desire to rape a Jewish woman. He is a walking, talking and celebrating the Oct. 7th massacre. I am sure that is quite usual in Arab countries and among the Palestinians. But in Germany I did not know it was acceptable.
Either Germany is slowly returning to their WW II views of Jews or they see Arabs who proudly want to have new Holocausts of Jews a sort of “bright” light challenging the overdone condemnation of 6 Million Jews Holocaust. Sad, disgusting and shows how profound is the desire to annihilate Jews still. It may have ebbed in Germany but burns brightly among Muslims, including those living on German soil.

What the German Police Pay Attention To, and What They Ignore
……………………………………………
Just grotesque. First the first issue–I’m sure that at any given time huge numbers of citizens consider the economy minister–or his equivant with a slightly different title in other nations–to be a moron, whatever his policies might be. This just goes with the territory, and so long as it is not threatening–as this clearly was not–should be allowed in any civilized free nation.
But the limits of free speech should be directly inciting violence–which is exactly what condoning the Holocaust–and this not just in general but *on the Israeli Embassy’s website*–and threatening to rape a woman are. Yet this is apparently just fine.
Suicidal madness.

Germany doesn’t know what it is and hasn’t since 1945. It is still in a mental jail that only allows following the more powerful – hosting troops and weapons for the protection of other nations, killing its nuclear energy, submitting to a corrupt EU while providing it with demanded welfare, and protecting an overrun of economic-religious migrants who have no alliegence to Germany.
It seems the most sovereignty Germany(its political elites), can raise is shooting itself in the foot and persecuting any natives who might speak unvarnished truth to the elites. Of course, this self destruction will ultimately break up the EU when the cash cow goes dry.
