UK: London police say imam’s call to ‘destroy Jewish homes’ is not a crime

It’s a direct call for violence. If the roles were reversed and a rabbi had called upon people to destroy the homes of Muslims, you can be certain that he would be behind bars in shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain today. But this is not a crime, because the Metropolitan Police know who their new overlords are.

The Metropolitan Police have said that an imam who led a prayer for the destruction of Jewish homes “did not meet the threshold of a crime” in a decision that has baffled security experts.

Just two weeks after Hamas’s massacre in southern Israel last year, a preacher at an east London mosque – located near a sizeable Jewish community – told his followers: “Oh Allah, curse the Jews and the children of Israel. Oh Allah, curse the infidels and the polytheists.

“Oh Allah, break their words, shake their feet, disperse and tear apart their unity and ruin their houses and destroy their homes.”

Footage of the sermon by the preacher was broadcast in late 2023 as part of an investigation into antisemitic hate speech in British mosques. In response, police said they would examine the video.

A spokesperson for the Met has now told the JC that despite the fact that “many people found the content upsetting… the entire sermon, including the wording, context and narrative have been reviewed and officers concluded that it does not meet the threshold of a crime”.

The government’s independent adviser on antisemitism, Lord Mann, urged the force to “re-investigate” and said he would be “raising the details of this specific case with the policing minister”.

Jewish security group Community Security Trust (CST), which has a close and cooperative relationship with the police, said that many Jews would “struggle to understand” the decision, while a former policeman suggested this was a sign of “two-tier policing” that followed different rules for different communities….

Bleksley said: “The language used by the [east London] preacher and the response from the Met Police is now a template for what is not illegal, for what can be said.”

He continued: “If a preacher of any other religion wanted to supplant the word ‘God’ for ‘Allah’ and ‘Muslims’ for ‘Jews’, that would be the perfect test to see if there is two-tier policing. They have set a precedent now.”

    • Ya that would be a ‘crime’ because the UK police for whatever reason has decided Islam is the future for Britain.

      Someone higher up must be pulling the strings here…maybe the elites are being threatened by Saudis/Iranians, Qataris…or have been paid off.

      Even a child could see how blatantly pro-Muslim and anti-British (people) the cops have become. This won’t end well, since you’d need to change the leadership root and stem…the rot is very deep in the UK.

      It seems all that remains for the ordinary Brits is civil war to get their country back…unless the Conservative step up and put a stop to all this nonsense…including the removal of police chiefs that hold this view and jailing evil politicians.

  6. Not being called a ‘crime’ is not what actually bothers me. What bothers me is the idea that the whole sermon isn’t seen for the theologic rape, hate filled call that it actually is. That it would be glossed over, is the actual crime. I’d think in a sane time and place, the whole screed would be gone over with the fine tooth comb and seen for the destructive memes, the screeching disavowal of disagreement that defines and defies it’s presentation. Then the public act of rejecting the hate filled bloviation into an oblivion that it truly deserves. I don’t think making it a ‘crime’ is what’s needed. I think sifting and winnowing to see what it calls for, means, what it encourages is what the public sphere is being deprived of and that is a crime. Because without that emotional, intellectual, and moral rigor, the only growth is downward.

  7. Someone with clout, someone with guts and no fear of jail, should do as suggested: replace certain words which apply only to mozlums and see if they get arrested. Say exactly the same words otherwise about houses and homes, etc.

    Before long, the police will be instructing mozlums on just how to do what the ghoul is preaching. And the firemen will be told to “let them burn.”

  8. The UK needs a government cleansing, an immigration overhaul, and the removal of all Islam in the country. They are not even fighting for their sovereignty.

  9. Many years ago, I had a longish conversation with an Ottawa Police officer. This is when the law was more or less intact. Minor or occasional examples of corruption at high levels occurred, but the law served its purpose. In fact, the Ottawa Police had been used as an exemplar at one point of how to do policing with excellence.

    During that conversation I asked what was legal and illegal speech in this context. The officer explained, now this is over 30 years ago, that calling for vandalism or to damage property was specifically not a crime, while doing it is.

    Assuming the UK has the same laws, then this is correct. It is not a crime.

    HOWEVER:

    Western nations, in part following UN resolution 16/18 but also a great deal more directives from various supranational orgs, some we know of some we probably do not, ‘hate speech’ laws were deployed, specifically to circumnavigate in some cases, or to use to specific advantage existing laws for political purposes.

    In other words, we are not seeing hypocrisy here whatsoever. We are seeing policy as it really is, even if unspoken in plain language.

    If anyone, let alone a Rabbi said the same about Muslim homes, then it would be hate speech against a ‘protected group or identity’ and would be a crime under those infinitely malleable censorship laws.

    Evidence for the effects of what I am describing isn’t just obvious. In some ways it is why the Website, Jihadwatch exists in the first place.

    If law was applied equally, there would be no problem with Islam. If they were held to the same standard as the rest of society, and if the West used its immigration policies as it always did and did not change it to create an army of sorts against Westerners, again no problems.

    But the government actions after the Southport protests should be sufficient evidence for anyone paying attention that rule of law is dead, and Western nations to varying degrees, work along Marxist Maoist political lines, rather than that of a people’s Republic.

    • I can’t speak for British law, nor for Canadian. But in the U.S., the police are not the final word on what is a crime and what is not.

      Inciting someone else to commit a crime, is a crime in the U.S. Destruction of property is a crime.
      It then depends on the prosecutor whether or not to charge a person. They have some prosecutorial discretion. If they believe they can win a case, they are more likely to prosecute.

    But Christians try peacefully spreading the Gospel is a crime.
    UK has become more like an Islamic country where Islamists can daqwah including inciting violence and hate while Christians (and other religious groups) are not allowed to speak about their religions openly.

    • In England if you stand across the street from a abortion clinic(not blocking the entrance ,not talking to people entering or leaving not in front of the building across the street being quiet standing upright making not religious motions ) with a set of rosy beads in your hand and say nothing ,and the police ask you if you are ” saying praying in your head” and you say yes you will be arrested. If you call loudly that you and your followers in a sermon in a Mosque among many people praying for, calling for the destruction of Jews and non-believers houses that is ok? One is a call for violent action by many people in a house of “worship” an open threat of violence’s against people for their religions belief the other is someone thinking something in their head not harassing anyone. .

  13. Da ich gerne reise ,wollte ich auch mal eine längere Rundreise durch Großbritannien machen. Kulturhistorisch haben die ja einiges zu bieten. Das ist mir aber jetzt gehörig vergangen. Keinen Cent in dieses von Links-Extremisten regiertes Land investieren.
