Keir Starmer campaigned on controlling the UK migration crisis. When he became prime minister in July, he further grandstanded, stating that in the transition from the government of his predecessor Rishi Sunak to his own, the UK had moved from “a government of gimmicks to a government of pragmatism.” That was in the context of more pledges to deal with “the small boat crisis.” He also met with Italian populist Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, complimenting her by stating that “her efforts had led to ‘dramatic reductions’ of boat arrivals – around 60% – and he ‘wanted to understand how that came about.'”
Yet Starmer has done nothing to stop the invasion of the UK via the English Channel. In a single week (the last week ending November 11), the UK has seen 1,628 arrivals in 27 small boats operated by people smugglers. Starmer has had months to put an end to the practice of people smuggling, but instead his government continues to string the public along.
Starmer’s government issued this statement last month:
“We all want to end dangerous small boat crossings, which threaten lives and undermine our border security. The people-smuggling gangs do not care if the vulnerable people they exploit live or die, as long as they pay.”
Starmer announced an additional £75 million for his scheme to “smash the gangs” operating the people smuggling trade on both sides of the Channel.
Despite his reassurances, nothing will likely be done, except that British citizens will continue to foot the bill. While many UK military families have no heat or hot water, the government continues to host illegal migrants in plush hotels, at a cost to taxpayers of $8.5 million USD a day and rising. And now, homelessness is up over 25% in Britain. National security issues are another grave matter.
“Small boat arrivals: last 7 days,” Gov.UK, November 12, 2024:
These statistics are taken from provisional operational data and are subject to change. The small boat arrivals figures may differ from figures published in the final official statistics on Irregular migration to the UK, which will have undergone a more thorough quality assurance process.
The quarterly Irregular migration to the UK statistical release presents final and authoritative statistics on small boat arrivals….

OLD GUY says
Yes, but you can also turn those boats around and send them back.

Spot on, OLD GUY.

He did?
I know that the Tories were a disaster, but who in his or her right mind could have believed Labour on this promise?
gravenimage says
Agreed, Infidel. I heard many people say that the Torys were so bad that Labour could not be worse–but I sadly knew they could be.
Hudders. says
Agreed @Infidel & Graven.
& worse is yet certain to come!

It will be years until the next national election in Britain.

You get what you vote for. Europe is apace for Muslim takeover. We are hoping Trump can turn the US around to sanity. The election was even more overwhelming than reported in his favor.
AlbertTatlock says
The problem is, a lot of people did NOT vote for Starmer, or for handing their country over to Mohammedans. The people who did NOT vote for any of that are also hoping that Trump can turn America around, and that their own countries will follow suit in due course.

Yes, Labour won the election with about 30% of the popular vote, some have said less.
The Tories were a disaster, Ruanda was never an option, not least while left wing groups were bording aircraft and stopping deportations. Everyone who wanted criminals deported were called far right so many of us hoped Starmer would be a good as his word. This was a mistake.
Labour has shown no attempt to deal with the problem, they have shown no ideas whatsoever, we’ve even had a terrorist incident at an airport where coppers were viciously assaulted but no charges have been made against the Muslim perpetrators – of course they would appear to be a protected class so can probably do exactly as they like. I think this will end very badly, cowardice and appeasement is rarely rewarded. and now the government are turning on its own citizens. Things are looking very bad
AlbertTatlock says
Anyone else connected what Starmer and The Party are doing to small farmers in Britain to what Stalin did to the “kulaks” ????
SC says
Carry on allowing parliament to crap on the people with no consequences and you will all end up on your knees praying multiple times a day.

UK: Invasion continues as over 1600 illegals arrive in 27 small boats in a week
………………………………………
I just wish I could be shocked by this…
James Lincoln says
Perhaps Pres. Trump, with Tom Homan as “Border Czar”, will show the rest of the world how to deal with illegal migrants – muslim or otherwise.

I would think that the UK would be a big priority for Jihadis for the same reason that it was a bulwark against the Nazis. Geographically it would be hard to invade from the EU. Once in power, radical Islamists could use it as a kicking off point for support to their compatriots in Europe and in support of any reverse invasion of the mainland. It would also mean that shiploads of immigrants could be moved there by sea instead of the incremental small craft insertions we are seeing now…
Andrew Blackadder says
Decades ago the men of my Fathers generation managed to stop a well trained, well equipped fighting force from invading southern England and defeated them otherwise we would all be speaking German.
Now today’s generation cannot defeat a bunch of unarmed men dressed in the latest Gear and carrying a $1000 Smart Phone while they float up to the White Cliffs of Dover in a wee Rubber Boat and then taken in and put up in a lovely four star Hotel room and some spare cash.
What a difference a generation makes.
Either turn the boats around and send them back to France or sink the fuckers…
The British people are being played for bloody fools.
