The Choice That Is Before Us

Abraham Lincoln said it in the Gettysburg Address: “we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Schoolchildren used to memorize those words, before our moral superiors decided that Lincoln, despite ending slavery in the United States, was a white male after all, and thus no kind of role model. The loss has been ours, for the nation would be much better off today if more Americans had ever taken the time to ponder what “government of the people, by the people, for the people” really means, and why it matters.

Lily Tang Williams just gave us a reminder. As I wrote about here Sunday, Tang Williams, who is a candidate for the House of Representatives from New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District, debated her Democrat opponent, Maggie Goodlander, last Thursday. A native of Communist China, Tang Williams sharply rebuked Goodlander’s class warfare rhetoric and reminded the world of the massive gulf between cosseted elitists such as Goodlander and ordinary, hardworking Americans: “You are wealthy, you are worth 20 million to 30 million dollars. How do you know about regular people suffering?”

That was too much for another elitist on X, Yuan Yi Zhu, a self-described “assistant professor of international relations and international law,” who rushed to Goodlander’s defense: “America is great because you can be goldplated elite (Groton, Yale, Yale Law, then Deep State, married to the national security advisor) and you have to debate an insane libertarian Chinese immigrant mum who will insult you in broken English and she may beat you at the election.”

What’s insane about Lily Tang Williams? Why, she disagrees with Yuan Yi Zhu and Maggie Goodlander, that’s what. And Goodlander, as Yuan Yi Zhu reminds us, is “goldplated elite.” She went to the best schools. She’s married to the Biden-Harris regime’s National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan. How could a “libertarian Chinese immigrant mum,” insane or not, dare to presume that she could be a better, more effective member of the House of Representatives than a graduate of Groton and Yale, a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division?

The effrontery of it all is what stings the left most of all. Government “of the people, by the people, for the people”? That’s just rhetoric for the rubes. Government is really best left to the experts, the highly trained apparatchiks who know better than you and me. The people can’t be trusted to choose leaders who know what’s best. In a perfect world, as far as the left is concerned, Lily Tang Williams would simply bow to Maggie Goodlander’s expertise, and bow out of the race.

  2. I saw a clip of one of her responses on X, and was impressed. I hope she wins, although I’ve pretty much given up on all of New England – maybe we should just gift those 6 states to Canada. Otoh, I thought that Hung Cao, who I did vote for for Virginia’s Senate seat against Tim Caine, had a bizarre debate performance against Tim Caine. I don’t think he’ll be one of the upsets

  3. The contrast between the strong and patriotic Donald Trump and that weak ,feeble and un- American Marxist subversive, Kamala Harris with her comrades of the Red/Green alliance.

    The difference between those two is both obvious clear vast and outstanding.

  4. In the future, in American history books, all genuine historians will recognize Donald Trump as a Great Patriotic American President.

    In contrast, the name of Kamala Harris will rot in American history.

  5. If Kamala Harris does by some devious insidious sinister means become next US President this will is the first, meaning this will be the first time that America will have an actually Communist as the President of this nation.

    This would definitely the very worst nightmare for all American patriots and also for the United States.

    For even taking into account what a treacherous harmful fiend that Joe Biden is ,it still may be considered that the only semi-“good” thing about Joe Biden is that he still might not be as horrendously dangerous as Kamala Harris if she became the next US President.

    For if Kamala Harris ,”by hook or by crook,” takes the place of Joe Biden in the Office of the United States President, things in America would not go from “Bad to worse” but entirely skip the word “worse” because things the US would then go from bad to the very worst possible. With Kamala Harris, sitting in the Office of the Presidency it would be a complete and total catastrophe for America.

    To explain this in another way, as to compare Joe Biden with and to Vladimir Lenin and then compare Kamala Harris with and to Joseph Stalin.

    Of course, Lenin was much more intelligent than Biden .Nevertheless it’s not as terrible to have the feeble-minded socialist, Lenin type character, Biden sitting in the powerful Office of Presidency in Washington DC than have that rude, obnoxious abrasive callous Communist, Stalin type character, Kamala Harris sitting in the powerful Office of the Presidency in Washington DC.

    She would be total catastrophe and disaster for America, without remedy.

    As Abraham Lincoln had ,so rightly m said, “You can’t unscramble eggs.”

That Communist, Kamala Harris, does in a very disingenuous way, likes and approves of and even enjoys horrible destructive riots in the different cities across the USA, with all the violence, looting arson, by the Marxist domestic terrorist groups, Antifa and BLM, that would terribly wreck the infrastructure of this once great nation.

    As Karl Marx had written “If we can but weld our souls together, then with contempt shall I fling my glove in the world’s face, then shall I strive through the wreckage a creator ! “

    Harris will be glad, to have a use those rioting hooligans as her stooges, tools and “useful idiots” to achieve her Marxist agenda for America. This US “President” ‘is truly a very evil woman.

  7. A SPECTER of Communism is hunting America –the specter is Kamala Harris.

    The United States has had two socialist Presidents, Bill Clinton then Barack Obama. Now during this year of 2024 there is the pseudo “president”, Joe Biden, sitting in the Oval Office of the White House, he is likewise a socialist. Now this is the first, meaning that if Kamala Harris actually does “win, by hook or by crook, the November 5th 2024 general election , it would be the very first time that the United States as a Communist as President.

    If she does then that Marxist President will be such a disaster for America that the damage that she and her Red comrades would inflect on the United States will finish forever the United States as a great world power and will reduce the US to the level of a third world country.

  8. As any scholar of history will testify that great and powerful nations have risen and fallen and likewise come on gone. So it with the United States if that Communist Kamala Harris in the Oval Office of the White House the outcome of that would be an horrendous disaster for America , for the American people and for all the civilized nation of the world. Likewise, the United States will fast decline into a third world nation, and never become great nation again.

    Therefore , it’s very important for all patriotic Americas to go out and vote on election day, Just in case that November“ election is rigged for Kamala Harris to “win” and she become the next US President.

    Regardless if this coming November election of genuine or not, the point is that if she actually does become President of United States , that means the US will be finished forever as a great and good world power and will be no better than other third world counties.

    This sad and tragic ,so much so that of she would actually become the next US President , then I’d glad that I’m no longer a young man and am also very sorry and have pity for the children of America.
