No peace in Islam.
After Israel signed a ceasefire deal, Iranian and Turkish-backed Jihadists are once again fighting over Syria.
Call it, the Syrian Civil War 2.0. Everyone enjoyed the last one so much that they decided to have another go at it.
Iran committed so many resources to its assault on Israel after Oct 7 that Turkey spotted a vulnerability. Hezbollah, Iran’s core asset for controlling Syria, has been bleeding badly after Beepergeddon, losing an estimated 3,500 terrorists over the course of the war.
Once Biden got his ‘ceasefire’, the Turks and Sunni Jihadists decided to exploit the window of Hezbollah’s vulnerability by launching a bid for Syria.
Had Biden backed our allies, Israel would have been using the opportunity to finish off Hezbollah and allow Christians to reclaim Lebanon.
Instead, Biden’s ceasefire allowed Turkey and Sunni Jihadists to repeat the fruits of Israel’s military campaign.
Not only didn’t Biden’s ceasefire bring peace, but it touched off a whole new war with our enemies benefiting.
Peace is never in the cards in the region because the violence in the Middle East is not caused by Israel, it’s caused by Islam. There is no peace in Islam.

I just hope that since this fresh fighting has broken out, all of Hizbullah is sucked into Syria, and stays there – whether they are killed fighting the HTS or emerge victorious, I don’t care. But the best situation there is a neutral power equilibrium, so that neither the sunnis not the shi’a feel confident enough to attack Israel: they’re always looking over their shoulders on whether the other will stab them
I also wonder what Putin thinks about Erdogan after this? He signed an agreement w/ Turkey that included Syria and Iran, where they’d all stop the fighting in Syria, and recognize Assad in power. But Russian troops have left the region for now 1000 days to fight in Ukraine instead, even taking some Syrian fighters w/ them. Hizbullah has been heavily battered by Israel, and is scrambling. Now, if Syria falls to the HTS or other sunni rebels, it’ll be the last of Russia’s major clients in the region to be lost to Putin, and then Russia would be even more at the mercy of Turkey for their shipping bottlenecks
Hopefully, Putin ends his war w/ Ukraine, signs a deal w/ the US and turns back to propping up Assad, so that Syria doesn’t become another Afghanistan or Bangladesh bordering Israel

These are very interesting developments, to say the least. The ayatollahs will have to redefine their priorities, for sure. This may just take the heat off Israel for a considerable time.
Muslims killing each other off isn’t a bad thing, either.
And I couldn’t give a damn about Putin’s geopolitical goals, either way.
