Muslims in America who supported Trump are apparently unhappy with the choices he has made of such pro-Israel figures as Marco Rubio (secretary of state), Elise Stefanik (ambassador to the UN), Mike Waltz (national security advisor), and Mike Huckabee (ambassador to Israel). They shouldn’t have been surprised. After all, in his first term Trump moved the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. He recognized the Golan Heights — annexed by Israel in 1981 — as a permanent part of Israel. He shut down the PLO office in Washington. He cut aid to the Palestinian Authority. He cut aid to UNRWA. Why would he not continue in that vein in his second term? Those Muslims now complaining also have an exaggerated sense of their own political importance. They claim that they, Muslims in America, were responsible for Trump’s victory. The statistics show otherwise. More on their unhappiness can be found here: “Muslims who voted for Trump upset by his pro-Israel cabinet picks,” Reuters, November 15, 2024:
US Muslim leaders who supported Republican Donald Trump to protest against the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war on Hamas and attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon have been deeply disappointed by his Cabinet picks, they told Reuters.
“Trump won because of us and we’re not happy with his Secretary of State pick and others,” said Rabiul Chowdhury, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump. Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and may have factored into other swing state wins, strategists believe….
Rexhinaldo Nazarko, executive director of the American Muslim Engagement and Empowerment Network (AMEEN), said Muslim voters had hoped Trump would choose Cabinet officials who work toward peace, and there was no sign of that.
“We are very disappointed,” he said. “It seems like this administration has been packed entirely with neoconservatives and extremely pro-Israel, pro-war people, which is a failure on the on the side of President Trump, to the pro-peace and anti-war movement.”
Nazarko said the community would continue pressing to make its voices heard after rallying votes to help Trump win. “At least we’re on the map.”
Hassan Abdel Salam, a former professor at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and co-founder of the Abandon Harris campaign, which endorsed Green Party candidate Jill Stein, said Trump’s staffing plans were not surprising, but had proven even more extreme that he had feared.
“It’s like he’s going on Zionist overdrive,” he said. “We were always extremely skeptical…Obviously we’re still waiting to see where the administration will go, but it does look like our community has been played.”…
Both promised Arab American and Muslim voters that Trump was a candidate for peace who would act swiftly to end the wars in the Middle East and beyond….
When these Arabs and Muslims talk about their hope that Trump would be a “candidate for peace who would…end the wars in the Middle East,” what they meant was that Trump would pressure Israel to stop its campaigns in Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon immediately, before the IDF had met its goal of destroying Hamas and dealing a heavy blow to Hezbollah so that it would be forced to pull back its forces to north of the Litani River. Trump has made clear that he wants the IDF to move as expeditiously as it can, but he is not about to pressure Israel to stop before it has achieved both those goals.
Rola Makki, the Lebanese American, Muslim vice chair for outreach of the Michigan Republican Party, shrugged off the criticism.
“I don’t think everyone’s going to be happy with every appointment Trump makes, but the outcome is what matters,” she said. “I do know that Trump wants peace, and what people need to realize is that there’s 50,000 dead Palestinians and 3,000 dead Lebanese, and that’s happened during the current administration.”
Not “50,000 dead Palestinians” (with the implication that they were all civilians), but rather, 43,000 dead Palestinians, of whom 20,000 were Hamas combatants. Another 9600 — 800 a month for 12 months — died from diseases and accidents. That means 13,400 civilians in Gaza have died to date. The civilian-to-combatant ratio in Gaza has been 13,400:20,000, that is, considerably less than 1:1. That ratio is a key metric for assessing the care taken to minimize civilian casualties. The UN has said that in all the wars fought since 1945, that ratio has been 9:1. In Afghanistan the Americans achieved a ratio of 4:1, and in Iraq, 3:1. But no army has come close to the ratio that the IDF has achieved in Gaza. No wonder British Colonel Richard Kemp has called the IDF “the most moral army in the world,” and West Point Professor John Spencer has written that “Israel has implemented more measures to prevent civilian casualties in urban warfare than any other military in the history of war.”
And what of Rabiul Chowdhury’s claim that “Trump won because of us”? It is nonsense. Muslims are only 1% of the population in the United States. In Michigan, where Muslims have their greatest political influence, of the 7.6 million people eligible to vote, only 200,000 are Muslims — that is, only 2.6% of the eligible voters in Michigan are Muslim. 59% of Muslim voters in Michigan voted for Jill Stein. Only 22% voted for Trump. Even if every single one of the 200,000 Muslims who was eligible to vote did in fact vote — which is most unlikely — that would only mean that Trump won 44,000 Muslim votes, out of a total of 5.6 million votes cast in Michigan, where his margin of victory was 80,000 votes. How can one possibly claim, given those numbers, that the “Muslim vote” was what gave Trump his victory in Michigan?

Like their opinion matters one Iota. Illegals and none citizens have no say regardless of what the dems and cair would like us to believe. And hopefully every illegal and asylum seeker from anywhere other than canadian and mexican war zones ( not many of those ) gets fingerprinted and a one way ticket home and are banned from entering the USA for 40 years.

But adds up to more danger for Trump & cabinet for retribution jihad. I do not like whats coming at all. We have allowed to much and too many. We will never have peace. Their idea of Peace is when there are no more ‘others’
somehistory says
“we’ve been played.” No. But they tried to ‘play’ everyone else as they always do.
Mr. Trump never promised them that he would turn their guns on Israel. In fact, he said that Israel had a ‘right to win’ out over the mozlums of hamas; of which those mozlums in the U.S. are an offshoot and supporters.
As I said on another thread about this claim that ‘he won because of us,’….such “arrogance.” He would have won anyway.
If they don’t like the results, they can go someplace else where Israel is hated, but they don’t get to vote for anyone. Try China.

Whingeing Muslims as per usual, trying to play the victim card. They broke the Peace on October, 7th., 2023, deliberately & cynically. Reap what you sow. If they don’t like living in ‘The Great Satan’, that is the USA, they can leave & go back to their Islamic Sh*thole they came from.

Seems Trump choices pisses off the people who do not give a tinkers damn for America, freedom of speech, western cultural , the red green alliance .The more piss off they are the more I feel Trump is picking wisely .Closet commies ,Islamic jihadist ,gender confused pedos, environmental climate change worshipping nut cases, and self hating ,self destructive idiots. Makes me happier every day I voted for him.
As far as Hamas and Oct7 goes you start a fight with someone and get your ass kicked you have no reason to complain Qatar kicking out the cowardly leaders of Hamas out of their 5 star hotels after Trumps election was the icing on the cake. Trump not even in office yet and they are running scared .

So those “Muslims are unhappy with Trump’s Choices.” So what ? .It’s “tough beans ” to them. That’s their problem.
WPM says
None of them want to return to their Moslem major sharia run failed economically ,spiritly ,unpleasant ,countries of origin .Islam like communism is a failed system at least communism has only failed for a little over 100 years where ever it is tried ,Islam has failed much more people world wide for over a thousand years. Embrace America’s freedom of speech, equal right under the law , non-caste system ,if that is too much and you feel that you are above all non-believers and non-believers should form an under class with Moslems having them subjugated them to second or third class citizens to grovel to Moslems wants and needs then leave.
Walter Sieruk says
I forgot to add that since so many Muslims are unhappy with the choice Donald Trump pick pick of people to high positions of office , this proves that Mr Trump’s choices are very good, After all, they are pro-Israel.

Just makes the picks look even better. If they were happy, then there’d be a problem.

Yeah, after he got a fair share of the muslim vote, I was worried that he may give some policy slots to people like Tucker Carlson, who though not pro-muslim, is anti-Jewish. Thankfully, none of his cabinet posts have gone to anyone who’s anti-Israel. Tulsi is an open question, given her past links w/ Assad, but her agency DNI simply coordinates b/w FBI & CIA. Incidentally, rooting for Kash Patel to be named to FBI
Given how muslims abandoned the Dems, the party should abandon Ilhan & Rashida and take the same attitude towards muslims that it has towards Cubans: block them from entering, & not hesitate to deport them
Bernie says
Probably, most Muslims in the U.S. would be unhappy even if Trump gave a high-level position to Rashida Tlaib or Ilan Omar!

Any time that muslims are unhappy with Pres. Trump’s actions, it indicates that those actions are correct.

Muslims Unhappy With Trump’s Choices
………………………………………
Call them a wambulance!
And the claim that Trump won due to Muslims–who make up just a little over 1% of the population in the US is absurd.
Then, CAIR exit polls showed Muslims voting 53% for Jill Stein, 21% for Donald Trump with 21% and 20% for Kamala Harris.
https://www.cair.com/press_releases/cair-exit-poll-of-muslim-voters-reveals-surge-in-support-for-jill-stein-and-donald-trump-steep-decline-for-harris/
And anyone who thought that Trump is anti-Israel is a moron in any case.
somehistory says
Yes, g, their claims are ridiculous. and did you mean to write “wambulance”? Sounds like an ambulance for whiners. so it fits.

Somehistory telling someone to “call a wambulance” means just that–that someone is absurdly whining.
