Canada: Café chain shuts down its Montreal store after franchisee gave pro-Israel demonstrators Nazi salute

Franchisee Mai Abdulhadi, whose shop was located in a Jewish hospital, not only gave a Nazi salute; she also chanted, “The Final Solution is coming,” which is a clear threat.

The biggest question to which Canadians are awaiting a valid answer is this: why are the worst incidences of hatred and incitement against Jews allowed to continue in a country that is infamous for shutting down the freedom of expression whenever it may be offensive to Muslims and the woke, and even arresting the offenders? Canada’s hate laws are not being applied when the victims are Jewish.

The Second Cup café chain has shut down a store it says is linked to a Montreal franchisee who gave pro-Israel demonstrators a Nazi salute and chanted, “The Final Solution is coming.”

In videos shared on social media, the woman was filmed wearing a keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian scarf, black sunglasses and a medical mask initially obscuring her identity. Over the course of the weekend, as news of the incident went viral and drew stern condemnation from across the political spectrum, she was linked to a Second Cup café inside the city’s Jewish General Hospital.

Late Saturday, the company announced it had severed ties with the store, shutting it down and terminating its franchise agreement. “Last night, our franchisee at the Jewish General Hospital was filmed making hateful remarks and gestures,” the company said in a public statement posted on Instagram and X.

“This franchisee’s actions are not only a breach of our franchise agreement, but they also violate the values of inclusion and community we stand for at Second Cup.”

Mayor Jeremy Levi, whose community of Hampstead is a suburb of Montreal, applauded the news, underscoring, “To every pro-terror, anti-Israel, and antisemite spewing hate: understand this clearly — your vile rhetoric and actions will not go unchecked. Your attempts to intimidate or sow division only strengthen our resolve and unite us in purpose.”…

It is very frightening to think that a Jew-hating Muslim was cleared to own and manage two franchises of the Second Cup coffee shop company located in the busy lobbies of Montreal’s well-respected Jewish General Hospital. I have personally bought food and drinks at both shops. Is this a case of stealth jihad? Was she waiting for an opportune moment to leave a bomb at one of the stores in revenge for some perceived insult to the Muslim world? Or, heaven forbid, poison a few dozen orders of lattes and teas before fleeing the country? Of course she passed the vetting process because for Second Cup to ask her opinions about Israel and Zionist Jews would have been Islamophobic.

    We Canadians better wake up “and smell the coffee” and vote in Pierre Poilevre as our next Prime Minister – the sooner the better.

The truckers were protesting their vaccine mandate, there was no violence, no antisemitism, no hatred just bouncy castles.

    When you read about the horrific attack on young Jewish girls in London, England, let me remind you the Muslim mayor, Sadiq Kahn said terror attacks are ‘part and parcel of living in a major city.

    Yesterday I reported on Antifa demonstrators in Germany who called for AfD members to be killed. The esteemed gentleman in the video below wants to take it a step further, and kill all the infidels (which would presumably include Antifa as well as the AfD).

    I don’t have any information about where this earnest fellow gave his inspirational speech. It may have been in a Western venue, or it may have been somewhere in the Islamic world. Any readers who recognize the provenance of the clip may leave a note in the comments.

  5. What a wonderful bunch. Do they all have a picture of Hitler in their homes? The war that Hitler and the Nazis initiated turned Germany in to rubble. The other two Axis powers didn’t fare well either. The war, as it spread, was a disaster around the world.

  8. Hey, stupid question here – but couldn’t a Jewish hospital in Montreal find a Jewish cafe, Kosher & everything, to have a branch of their store in their premises?

    • Yeah! Was there an issue with serving Hebrew National along with Colombian Supremo?

    • Most Second Cup coffee shops across Canada do not have kosher certification. Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital – like many Jewish hospitals across North America – has a kosher kitchen providing certified kosher meals to all in-patients. And when tendering contracts for their restaurants and cafes, the JGH has always made kosher certification mandatory. Having Second Cup sign onto two locations in the hospital was a great service for all visitors, staff and mobile patients looking for a moccacino and muffin as they recuperate from some illlness or surgery. The JGH has many Muslim doctors and nurses who benefit from the kosher food as well, since Islamic leaders have taught that kosher food is okay to eat when halal food is unavailable. The question is: what would motivate a Jew hating Muslim to want to have anything to do with offering customer service to a mostly Zionist clientele?
