Merely three months after Sheikh Haseena’s ouster, Bangladesh, as a nation, has bared its blood-smeared jihadi fangs, and the interim government has unleashed a full-fledged genocidal attack on the Hindus. They are not even discreet about it anymore.
The latest chapter of their state-sponsored attack is the unwarranted detaining of Hindu religious leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari at Dhaka airport on Monday, November 25. Brahmachari is a prominent International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) monk, and was among the foremost leaders advocating for minority rights in the country taken over by murderous Muslim rioters after the collapse of Hasina’s rule. The arrest came as a reaction to the Hindu community’s protests led by the monk in Rangpur on Friday, November 22. The protestors were calling for strong legal measures for the minorities, and for the setting up of a dedicated ministry for minority affairs. Some Hindu youths who were en route to the venue of this rally were attacked by a frenzied Muslim mob and left injured and bloodied, demonstrating how important it was for the state to enact laws to protect religious minorities. But the state, working hand-in-glove with the perpetrators, caught the religious leader who was demanding lawful rights, and leveled sedition charges against him.
ISKCON’s spokesperson, Radharamn Das, expressed concern over the arrest. Through his official X account, he stated, “I just received the shocking news that Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a Hindu monk and a prominent advocate for Bangladeshi minorities in these challenging times, has been detained by Dhaka police and taken to an undisclosed location. Kind attention.” He also tagged the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
A case was filed against Das earlier this month for his bold critique of the violent targeting of minorities, especially Hindus in Bangladesh. It has been long established that the military-backed interim government led by Mohammed Yunus – who, interestingly, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 — faced massive criticism for its inability to curb the rise in violence against minorities from the beginning of his term. However, it has now been revealed that the government is not just unable to curb the communal violence but is, in fact, an enabler of that violence. In the months after the Yunus administration took charge of the country, hundreds of Hindu-owned businesses, commercial establishments, homes, and temples were attacked, vandalized, looted, and razed across the length and breadth of the country. Muslim zealots have been allowed to run amok through Hindu areas, robbing the poor community of the little belongings they had. When the government felt that the country might fall short of religious fanatics, they released the ones in jail. Shortly after assuming power, on August 18, the interim government released the chief of the Al-Qaeda-inspired terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), Mufti Jashimuddin Rahamani, from Kashimpur High-Security Central Jail in Gazipur. And months after releasing the leader of an actual terror-inspired organization, the Bangladeshi High Court accepted an affidavit from ISKCON, a “religious fundamentalist” group. And they didn’t stop at that. Pressing serious allegations against the religious organization, Attorney General Muhammad Asaduzzaman added, “There are attempts to destabilize the country…The government is addressing the situation by…..initiating dialogue with political parties on recent developments.”
While Bangladeshi establishments try to portray ISKCON as a violent entity, videos from Rangunia that surfaced immediately after the Hindu monk’s arrest show hordes of Muslims making open calls to slaughter ISKCON devotees, skull-cap sporting and lungi-clad men were spotted rallying through the streets of Bangladeshi cities demanding a ban on ISKCON in Bangladesh, with a clear intent to cut Hindus off from their culture and religion.
The detention of Chinmoy Krishna Das has acted as an emboldening assurance for these religious fanatics, and they went back to their jihadist ways with a new vigor. On Tuesday, November 26, Muslim mobs tore down several Hindu temples, including a Kali temple and Lokonath Temple in Chittagong, including one that was set ablaze in the Mehtor Potti area. There is no sign of the religious tension slowing down in the country; it is convulsed in waves of communal violence.
Bangladesh is moving backward in time. The country lacks leadership, vision, scope, self-sufficiency, and opportunities. A Bangladeshi strives to leave the country and takes the first flight out of his or her home territory as soon as an opportunity presents itself, be it as an IT professional or a blue-collar laborer. With nothing to look forward to in life, all too many Bangladeshi youth are finding an escape in Islamic jihad and Sharia. The government, aware that it has nothing better to offer, is fueling this madness. Sooner or later, the country will become a South Asian version of Syria, Yemen, or Libya.

One disgusting side-note about this arrest is that the Bangladesh chapter of ISKCON has distanced itself from Chinmoy Krishna Das, and following that, the regime in Dhaka has decided to stop pressing for the ban. The international ISKCON continues to support him, but spins the Bangladesh chapter’s decision as being under duress
The problem w/ ISKCON – an organization that devotes itself to Lord Krishna – is that it centers everything around the Bhagwat Geeta, which is just a small part of Lord Krishna’s life, ignoring everything else in the Mahabharat (of which Geeta is a small part) and Shrimad Bhagvatam, which details his life. If they did, they’d have learned that there is no place in their faith for such cowardice that their Bangladesh chapter displayed

During the campaign, he mentioned the situation in Bangladesh in a statement to Hindu-Americans. Most Hindus, especially in India, noticed that it was more than what Modi had done. The US can’t do everything, but he should put diplomatic pressure on India to stand up for Bangladesh Hindus, Buddhists & Christians & put all sorts of pressure, including military if needed, and that the US would diplomatically back India, as well as well as sell any weaponry needed to straighten out that country
Also, the US should just ban any new entries from Bangladesh: we’re not the dumping ground of even their best people. The current upheaval in that country is not the regime alone cracking down on Hindus: it is the average Bangladeshi muslims being their thuggish selves against all infidels there. Japan should also take note of this, as there are increasing numbers of Bangladeshi and Pakistani Muslims (amongst others) entering Japan.
Most Japanese people follow a syncretic mix of Shintoism and Buddhism, and Shintoism is a polytheistic faith which draws from Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian traditions.
For example, Hindu deities are amongst the “kami” (spirits) found in Shinto. Elephant-headed Kangiten is Ganesha; Bichuten is an iteration of Vishnu; Daikoku (the leader of the Seven Gods of Luck) is derived from Rama; Baiziten is a version of Lakshmi.
A couple of years ago, a Muslim migrant from Gabon vandalized a Shinto shrine and the offering box, and threatened Japanese Shinto devotees, telling them they could not worship there, as “Allah is the only God!”
Also, I think some years ago, there was a Saudi Arabian student who went to a Buddhist temple in Tokyo, and smashed several valuable statues of Gautama (Buddha).
There are other, similar cases in Japan that we don’t hear about, but those two cases got some press coverage.

You are right. Japan and Korea used to be unique in that there were no muslims in those countries. Unfortunately, they too took pages out of the West, rather than observe what countries like the Emirates did: the latter has a sort of “muslim ban” much stricter than what Trump proposed in 2015, where they just ban anybody from countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, “Palestine”, and a few more muslim countries
Japan and South Korea may be political allies of the West, but they should stop taking cultural cues from us, since the West is the leading vector of wokeness. Instead, they should develop their own, and maybe observe other East Asian Buddhist countries like Thailand, which despite being friendly to the West, still maintain their own culture. There is no reason for essentially Buddhist, Shinto, Daoist, Hindu countries (by population, if not by constitution) to adopt pseudo-Christian culture. Over the last 4 years, Rahm Emmanuel and Eric Garcetti, the US ambassadors to Tokyo and Delhi (in that order), have been putting pressure on their host governments to be more LGBTQIA+ friendly. It’s high time Asian countries told the West on this particular front to stuff it

Way back then the organizers and promoters were unclear on for who and why the concert was being held. Even back then no one wanted to mention the M word. Some things haven’t changed.

Of the 4 Beatles, when I was a kid, McCartney was my favorite. But as I grew up and got to analyze their behavior, Harrison took over. That said, in retrospect, I don’t agree w/ him or Ravi Shankar doing that 1971 concert for Bangladesh. Similarly, many Indians on X are fondly remembering Indira Gandhi, but she did not put pressure on the new Bangladesh government to saveguard the rights of Hindus, such as restoring their properties

Bangladeshi Interim government has launched full fledged attack on minorities but look at those lefties who once launched a campaign of ‘All Eyes on Rafah’ when Israel attacked on Rafah. Where are their eyes now? When thousands of Hindu shops have been closed dozens of temple have been attacked and many have been killed where are those Muslims who demand minority rights in non muslim majority countries. Why have they not condemned such attacks just bcoz now it’s being done by their own ummah? India and their government needs to understand that whatever needs to be done needs to be done from their side. They should make detention centers for persecuted Hindus coming from genocidal Bangladesh. But again it looks like they have used them for their political agenda. For them Hindu lives doesn’t matter after they got victory in the elections.

The biggest traitors to Hindus are the Sangh – BJP/RSS. W/ Congress and other secular opposition parties, there was at least no pretense of being pro-Hindu: all of them openly support muslims in any rift against Hindus, so nothing better is expected of them. But in the case of the Sangh, you have local BJP activists trying to invoke Hindu sentiments, particularly in election time, but at the same time, there is the RSS/BJP leadership that betrays Hindus on so many fronts:

The Leftists and Islamists tend to hate Hindus due to jealousy, as Hindus are generally known for tolerance, flexibility (not just the yoga kind, lol), business acumen, academic prowess and creativity.
The Mughal emperor Akbar recognized and respected this, and did a lot to improve the status of Hindus and othee non-Muslims during his rule, unlike Aurangzeb.

One interesting thing that Judaism and Hinduism share: although Judaism is momotheistic and Hinduism is polytheistic, both faiths have a lot of tolerance for respective members who are NON-religious.
That is to say, it’s possible to be a practising Jew or Hindu who is an atheist or an agnostic, in terms of believing in a God or Gods.
It’s harder to do so in Islam or Christianity.
