The 45th, 46th and 47th presidents of the United States had a cordial meeting on Wednesday and pledged to cooperate with each other during this period of transition. Ordinarily, this would have been an utterly unremarkable, pro forma courtesy meeting that would have attracted little, if any, media attention, but these are not ordinary times. As Donald Trump and Old Joe Biden sat down together at the White House, the whole world was watching: Would Biden call the cops and have the “insurrectionist” cuffed and frog-marched off to the D.C. dungeons with the other J6ers? Would he berate Trump for destroying “our democracy” and bringing fascism to our fair land? No: As it turns out, they just had a pleasant little chat. And that was telling.

Somehow, unlike the last 4 years, Joe looked unusually happy & energetic: none of his usual brain-farts that we had become so familiar w/ over the last 5 years. Looks like he’s actually thrilled that Trump won: he can now brag that he’s the only politician who ever defeated Trump (for those who assume the 2020 results to be real)
Somehow, I doubt he’d have been this chirpy had he been the candidate, and Trump won

I was listening to a Victor Davis Hanson podcast a couple of days ago, and he was asked who were the people most thrilled by Kamala’s defeat, aside from the GOP side. One of his surprising answers was Kamala herself, who was probably relieved that she didn’t have to do that job, for which she was like a deer-in-the-headlights. Aside from that, he listed Jill Biden, and I think a few others that I forget
Looking back, for all his mental lapses, I think it was brilliant of Joe (maybe he was thoroughly coached by Jill) to endorse Kamala on his way out. That’s not what either Obama or Pelosi wanted: they wanted a truncated open primary, which would have put their best candidate out. But given all the rules about how funds may transfer, Biden played it brilliantly by endorsing her and getting the bulk of his delegates behind her, making it impossible for Obama or Pelosi to play their games. Not just that, at the end of it all, both Obama & Pelosi are thoroughly discredited, and for the first time since 2008, the Dems are practically leaderless
I daresay had Joe Biden been cognitively like this the last 4 years, his term would have gone a lot better. He would probably also have had the sense not to legally go after his opponent using the DOJ

If Biden had not quickly endorsed Harris, there would have been a truncated open primary – as you have stated.
Suppose, following that, Elizabeth Warren was picked for the Presidential slot, and Josh Shapiro was picked for the VP slot.
Would the results of the 2024 election been a lot different?

Rumour has it Joe & Jill Biden actually voted for Trump, they aren’t verry happy with the Democrat party coup carried out against them.

Americans can st least rejoice that all the rioting, arson, assault, and other violence in Washington DC and in cities across the nation on Inauguration Day 2025 is absolutely NOT an insurrection — because it’ll be the Democrats doing it, and they are (after all) the greatest defenders of our freedoms and justice and stuff like that.
