Islamic law only allows for a truce if Muslims are weak and need to gather strength to fight later more effectively, or if they’re fighting non-Muslims whom they think may accept Islam: “If Muslims are weak, a truce may be made for ten years if necessary, for the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) made a truce with the Quraysh for that long, as is related by Abu Dawud…Interests that justify making a truce are such things as Muslim weakness because of lack of numbers or materiel, or the hope of an enemy becoming Muslim…” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.16).

This idea is founded on the Qur’an: “So do not falter and cry out for peace when you have the upper hand…” (47:35).

This would, therefore, be the worst time to conclude a ceasefire.

Hezbollah said Tuesday it is now ready to engage in cease-fire talks with Israel, after suffering serious blows to its leadership and ranks in recent months.

The terror group in Lebanon made the announcement after firing more than 100 rockets at the Jewish state hours earlier.

Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general, Naim Qassem, publicly endorsed a truce with Israel, the first such time the terror group has proposed a cease-fire not conditioned on the war in Gaza.

Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem said the group is now open to a cease-fire with Israel.

“We support the political efforts led by [Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih] Berri under the banner of achieving a cease-fire,” Qassem said, according to a CNN translation.

“Once the cease-fire is firmly established and diplomacy can reach it, all other details will be discussed and decisions will be made collaboratively,” he added….

    • We never see any msm ask why the muslim nations ask for ‘ceasefires’ rather than actual peace treaties. If they did, the bottom would fall out of the whole game.

    I have the feeling Israel will not agree with the ghouls of hezbollah. Kind of like a football game. The losing team has a safety. The winning team scored 63 and the ball is on the 20, ready to be taken across for the tenth time. Why should they stop now?

    2006: Hezbollah signed UN resolution 1705 I think to disarm and retreat north of the Litany. NEVER HAPPENED! STAND WITH ISRAEL!

  10. Now Benji should go in for the kill! For Iran: blitz Kharg Island to pieces (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kharg_Island) and Natanz and Fordow, the latter two with multiple bunker buster attacks, in order to get deeper and deeper under ground. This would cripple Iran’s economy (oil) and seriously damage its nuke program. What’s more: these actions will not cost many civilian lives: maximum damage, minimum cost!

    And maybe try to kill Khamenei himself and possibly Salami.

  15. A “ceasefire”should be considered only after every last shred of Hamas and Hizbollah has been totally destroyed and kept destroyed. Otherwise, history has shown that they will just bide their time until they kill again. Lasting peace will be possible ONLY when the can never rise again.

    Hizballah will not do this.

    Then Israel should respond publicly with this:

    “There will be no cease-fire without an unconditional surrender by Hizballah.”

    Hizballah will then be painted into a corner.
