Does the West has a ridiculous Islamophobic obsession with Islam? We’re examining an old but enduringly relevant article that asserts this:Obsession with Islam blinds West to real problems,”
It is easy to blame anti-immigration politics and racism for the rise of Islamophobia. Yet the problem cannot be reduced to populist politics. The Western intelligentsia is as much to blame. Since the end of the Cold War, the tendency to overstate Islam has become intellectually fashionable, thanks in great measure to Samuel Huntington, who warned about a rapidly approaching “clash of civilizations.”…
The word “Islamophobia” is used by Omar Taspinar to make us accept the notion that criticism of Islam always reflects “irrational fear and hatred” of Islam. Islamocritics, no matter how rational, measured, and sober in their discussion of Islam, are mocked and dismissed as “Islamophobes.” But it is these Islamocritics who derive their views both from the observable behavior of Muslims, including active participation in, or passive approval for, acts of terror against non-Muslims, and from the Islamic texts — Qur’an and Hadith — that Muslims rely on as their complete guide, covering every aspect of existence.
And who is to blame for this “Islamophobia”? Apparently it started, according to Taspinar, “at the end of the Cold War,” meaning that the West, in need of someone to hate, had to “find another enemy” and came up with innocent Islam as a substitute for the Soviet Union. Taspinar thinks the “Western intelligentsia” is “much to blame.” He mentions Samuel Huntington and his warning about a “clash of civilizations.” But was Huntington wrong? Hasn’t Islam been clashing, not just with the West, as Taspinar would like you to think, but against all the rest, the entire non-Islamic world, for the past 1,400 years? Didn’t adherents of Islam virtually destroy Buddhism in India, the land of its birth? Didn’t Muslim conquerors kill between 70-80 million Hindus in India during several centuries of Mughal rule? Didn’t Muslims islamize, through force, the Zoroastrians in Persia, driving the few that remained into exile in Gujarat, India, where they became known as Parsis (“Persians”)? Didn’t Muslims islamize, too, what had formerly been Christian and pagan North Africa? Is it Islamophobic to take note of all that?
Huntington’s remarks about Islam’s “bloody borders” was not a “gloomy prediction,” but a sober statement of fact about the history of Muslim conquest. Taspinar thinks there is something worrying about how the word “jihad” emerged in the popular lexicon after 9/11, but why? Why shouldn’t the word that these Muslim terrorists use, the word that Muslims have been using to describe their war against all Infidels for 1,400 years, also be taken up by us, the targets and victims of jihad? As for the word “crusade” that Taspinar cites to suggest that the Christians were just as much at fault, with their “crusade” emerging “in the popular lexicon” as the equivalent of jihad, his memory is faulty. The word “crusade” was used once, early on, by George W. Bush: “This crusade, this war on terrorism.” It caused such a fuss that his advisors explained he had meant to use it only as a synonym for struggle. And neither he nor his successors ever used the word again.
Taspinar assumes we will share his revelation that “in the eyes of large majorities in the West, Islam not only represents an existential security threat, but also an apparently insurmountable obstacle to freedom, democracy, secularism and gender equality.”
An “existential security threat” merely means “a very big security threat.” Haven’t Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State, Boko Haram, Abu Sayyaf, Al-Nusra Front, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Hezbollah, and many other groups, been a big security threat to non-Muslims? How many tens or hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent all over the Western world since 9/11 on enhanced security, because of that threat, at every airport, at train and bus stations, on trains and buses, in the subways, at synagogues and Jewish schools, at churches (which are frequently vandalized in Europe), at national monuments, at government buildings, at sports stadiums and museums, at nightclubs, symphony halls, and to guard, too, Islamocritics who have received death threats? Taspinar seems to think the Islamic threat is being exaggerated. But does he know that there have been nearly 46,000 attacks by Muslim terrorists since 9/11? And how many attacks were thwarted by all that security in the past 23 years? 20,000? 50,000? It’s anyone’s guess.

Since there is no such thing ,when those who insist that all problems have it as a source, it’s simply for the purpose of deceiving, misleading, confusing and controlling the thinking of those who have not read or heard the Truth about islam and the goals and intentions of its adherents.
When lies are successful, those who speak the Truth are maligned, mocked, threatened and attacked. And in this case, mzlums are gleeful at the idea that one day, no one will tell the Truth about them. Once they have taken over control of the world, it won’t matter.

Well said @SH my friend. You nailed it.
Everything is reversed with the islamo/marxist narrative creatures & their terror twisted optics.
Heads is tails. Up is down & lies are presented as truth.
As Romans 1:25 wisely ponts out & it fits here somewhat too;
‘Who changed the truth of God into a lie.’
God is not mocked however & the diabolical deceptions, obscene obsfucations & demonic manipulations shall ultimately be revealed.
It’s the caliphate or Christ. There is no middle ground that’s for sure.
May we all have the courage to stand for the truth & expose the sanatic semantic sickness, against ever increasingly dangerous opposition.
Amen.

Thank you very much, Hudders. You have added some important points to the subject matter.
Jesus said that when “The Son of Man arrives, He will separate the people, one from another just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
and right now, yesterday, today and tomorrow, people are demonstrating where they stand…on the side of good or on the side of evil. More and more it is evident that everyone is making their choice.
So, yes, may all who love what is Right and Good, stay steadfast no matter how much evil pressure is applied.
Hudders. says
Amen & amen.
Glory to God.

A phobia is an irrational fear. There is absolutely bothing irrational about fearing islam. the Qur’an gives us every thing necessary, in their own words, to prove Islamophobia is 100% rational AND absolutely justified. Looking at the moslems murdering people around the world with impunity and frequently without consequences means we need to prepare to survive and protect ourselves during their insurgence.
China had the right Idea. Separate, isolate and be prepared to do whatever is necessary to protect your own.

Yes I am fully aware the last paragraph will be distasteful to some espcially Holocaust survivors. However when they have murderous intent it is the only answer

Agreed. The correct term is ISLAMONAUSIA.

How does he explain the Barbary Pirates and the Islamic slave trade?

“Who is to blame for islamophobia?”
Maybe it is because the koran classifies us non muslims as infidels “the worst of created beings” koran 98:6
Maybe it is because “islamophobia” is a bogus invention
Wait!
is it the “Jews”?
Fascists protest:Communists out!
Communists protest:Fascists out!
Communists and Fascists are both sides of the SAME coin
Who owns the Coin?
Communists and fascists:the “Jews”
Ridiculous!
Power elites play BOTH sides.it is too easy to blame one group!
The folk that rule the World are the ones in Daniel 7 v 23-27 crushing the whole Earth and trampling it down.
Westman says
Islam is what is done by its adherents within the confines of Sharia Law, NOT what it claims or pontificates. There is no legitimacy in claiming that Islamic Terrorist groups do not represent Islam when their very actions are found in the Quran, Hadith, and the life of Muhammad.
If majority Islam will not control those groups then it is rightly considered to be potentially the same within a veneer of tolerance yet having the potential to break out at any time into aggressive jihad. No one with historic and current knowledge of Islam can be expected to trust Muslims as a group, only as known individuals.
The West has no choice except to view Islam with Islamorealism and caution.

Hugh Fitzgerald wrote a compelling argument about Muslims pretending that they wish to live in peace. He mentions that Islam has been brutal against all non-members of the followers of the false pedophilic mass murdering prophet. However, I wish that he had mentioned the thousands of Nigerians slaughtered by this peaceful so-called religion.

There are those in this world who cannot envision sheep with fangs or doves with the stingers of electric manta rays. The hellish world that they demand for themselves will be exactly that. At this point looking at Eurabia and Amerabia all they see is lamb chops and squab for dinner. But the closer they get the clearer they will see those horrific mutations they are irreversibly creating for themselves. I need not clarify of whom I speak. Their future causes me a phobia in THEIR BEHALF.

Most non muslims in a Islam majority countries have dislikes and fear of Islam because muslims have been oppressed the non muslims according to Islam. The west people should learn from those non muslims, if they are too stupid to believe it, they should try to leave among the muslims as infidels.

ironically, islam projects what it is onto others! Its phobic, blood thirsty, racist and about conquest. When the many don’t want to fight they still fund those that do and act like victims when they are not! And islam is not a race – it is an ideology. WAKE UP PEOPLE!
