Pakistan-based jihadists trying to infiltrate into India, country’s border police warn

Islamic terrorists from neighboring Pakistan are attempting to infiltrate into India ahead of the coming winter months, country’s Border Security Force (BSF) warns.

The cross-border jihadist infiltration is expected to take place in India’s Muslim-majority northern region of Kashmir, Indian media reports say. Pakistan-backed Islamic terror groups have been waging jihad warfare in the region for decades, in a bid to create an Islamic state on Indian soil. The BSF, India’s border police, vowed to repel any terrorist incursion from Pakistan.

Unlike most Western countries, India has built a massive border fence to prevent illegal migration and infiltration from Muslim-majority neighbors. New Delhi has fenced nearly all of the 2100-mile border with Pakistan, and similar measures have been taken along the border with Muslim-majority Bangladesh. India’s border defenses include barbed wires followed by landmines and military posts.

The BSF claimed on Friday that around 150 Pakistan -based terrorists are trying to infiltrate Indian territory before winter at the launchpads near the Line of Control (LoC). These shocking claims were made by a senior Border Security Force (BSF) official at an event, saying that the security forces would foil any bid to infiltrate the Kashmir valley and the Indian territory. The official stated that there is intelligence input that the Pakistan-based terror group commanders from the Pakistani side are continuously trying to push terrorists to the Indian side through launchpads.

“Attempts of infiltration continue to take place. Based on the intelligence inputs from various agencies, we coordinate with the army to establish a domination plan along the border. We also keep in mind the number of terrorists at the launching pads, which helps us shape our strategy and domination plan to ensure we foil any plans,” the BSF official stated.
