With flagrant disregard for the will of the people of Austria, the country’s leftist president Alexander Van der Bellen has blocked the winner of the recent elections, the Freedom Party of Austria, from forming a new government. Instead, Chancellor Karl Nehammer was granted the chance to form a new government, despite coming in second with 26 percent of the vote, three percentage points behind the Freedom Party of Austria.
Undemocratic assaults on the right — against leaders and voters alike — continue to escalate from the left. The left’s mainstream media activists enable these assaults by branding patriotic forces that oppose mass migration as “far right,” while always providing a favorable spin to the actions of their leftist overlords. “Far right” has come to mean opposition to reckless open-door, unvetted immigration and other damaging woke policies. There are good reasons why populism is rising in Europe, but leftists such as Van Der Bellen are doing all they can to stem the tide.
“Austria’s far right is shut out of power, again,” The Spectator, October 24, 2024:
Freedom party (FPO), People’s party (OVP), Alexander Van Den Bellen, Karl Nehammer
Austria’s mainstream politicians are combining to ensure that the winners of last month’s general elections, the far right Freedom party (FPO) are kept firmly out of power.
The Alpine republic’s president, Alexander Van Den Bellen – aligned with the Green party – has invited the current chancellor, Karl Nehammer, whose centre right People’s party (OVP) came second in the elections, to form a coalition explicitly excluding the FPO, which topped the polls with 29 per cent, running on an anti-immigration, pro-Putin platform.
Austria is the latest European ‘domino’ to propel a populist radical right party to the forefront of politics after the rise of the AfD in neighbouring Germany. Similar parties are already in government in Italy, where Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy leads a right-wing coalition, and in Sweden and the Netherlands where Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam Party of Freedom (PVV) also forms part of the ruling coalition….

Time the people not the establishment dealt with the treason against the people worldwide.

Identical to what recently happened in France, where the leftist coalition won a plurality of the vote, but President Macron designated the 2nd place center-right party to form the new government with tacit support from the right-wing National Front (or whatever its recent incarnation is called; regardless, I refuse to brand them “far-right” the way the MSM does).
When this kind of thing happens to lefties, we on the right applaud the wisdom of it; when it happens to us, we’re outraged. Double-standards are not the exclusive domain of the left.

Leftist leaders of Western countries may not want it, but they’re actively driving their countries towards the direction of civil war by such brazen power-grabs

When one individual can ovrride the will of the people they have already become that nation’s next Hitler. Time for a real insurrection. I do hope all europeans rise up at the same time and put out the EU’s trash too.

I guess we are getting to a point in history where elections in democratic countries don’t count. Why bother with the election process if you don’t honor the results? I guess they have become another dictatorship.

Elections in many countries are now “kabuki theater”, OLD GUY.
