Whichever of these stories about the “Prophet” are true–if any–*none* of them are “charming” but are all vicious.
But I agree with David Wood–ifg *anything* mitigates to the existance of Muhammed, it’s that so many of these stories are embrrassing, and would have been even at the time–admittedly a pretty thin read to construct a creed on…
And I’ve always found the irrational and vicious angel–gabrie or whathaveyou–described in Islam and assaulting an illiterate man and demending that he “read”–very disturbing. I rought adult litracy through a program at my local library for sveral years–I have to say, not a technique we ever used…
The thing about Joseph Smith is interesting, and certainly there was some damned disturbing stuff about the Mormons early on–but since they have largely reforned and are not having polygamous marriages with children and slaughtering apostates and blaming it on local Indidan tribes, I have to admit that I don’t feel the same kind of urgency I do with Islam. I might have felt differently in the mid-19th century, though.
Then, The sad thing is that the whole Kazar thing–besides there actually being a few Jewish members of this tribe–is from a Jewish guy who desperately hiped that if he could claim that modern European Jews had nothing to do with historical Jews that they might be safer. But of course Muslims have glommed on to this false claim and now use to–yep–malign and murder Jews. Might as well just stick to the truth, since there’s nothing that can’t be twisted to target Jews anyway.
And spot on about Jews fleeing Sicily and Islam likely giving birth to the vicious values of the Mafia. .
And I’d skip both the man-milk and Zam Zam water–camel urine is my drink of choice!
And certainly the story of Muhammed making his adopted son divrce his wife so that he could marry her is one of the most disgusting in Islam–and even worse, then destroying adpition in Islam, with all the suffering this has caused over the past 1400 years or so. Even dark ages Arabs found this pretty appalling–but Robert Spencer may well be right that this was to seal Muhammed as the last prophet.
And great to hear that a Muslim found Robert’s work and left Islam. We can’t be too sanguine about good winning out but also muat not be too cynical and negative either!
And we all need to stand together against Jihad–Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Agnistics, and Athieists–because Islam targtes us all.
Those two hours just flew by! Really, Jihad should not be this entertaining…

I remember a Beavis and Butthead episode in which their Spanish language teacher gets really ticked off at them over their abysmal lack of progress over the year.
He uses some bad language out of exasperation:
“You little bastards had better say something intelligent in Spanish right now, or you’re going to see Mr. Buzzcut!”

Videos such as this one & the many others that have been being released here on JW, are incredibly important at this jihad jumbled juncture.
David & Robert have an excellent engaging rapport, that easily manifests into digestable teachings; slicing through the current forced false paradigm of islam friendly deception, like a knife through butter.
Where possible, I actively share the videos & discuss them with my church groups & at our topics of the week young people meetings. Never has there been such a hunger & a need for the truth about the demonic nature of islam & the horrors that await if we abide in blissful ignorance to the danger.

Good discussion b/w the two. I’m glad that Robert directly addressed David’s use of the “Embarrassment Criterion”, by pointing out how the compilation of the qur’an by committee was what resulted in such stories making their way into the narrative
I do think Robert should take different avenues while discussing it w/ different people. For instance, when discussing it w/ David Wood, discussing the theological underpinnings of this is the right approach. Otoh, a few days ago, while discussing it w/ Frank Gaffney, it would have been more on-point to discuss the geopolitical underpinnings of what took place: namely that Mecca did not exist, the Arab invasions started from Damascus and took advantage of the fact that both the Byzantine Romans and the Sassanids were burnt out by their wars, that there were no trade routes from Constantinople to Taxila that went via Mecca, and so on
Essentially, there are a few ways to skin this cat about whether or not Muhammad existed, and different ways should be used in different interviews
