In February, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, told the General Assembly that Russia was “deepening its ties with global forces of destabilization, chiefly Iran.” Erdan’s comments “came ahead of the parley” that Moscow was about to hold with Palestinian factions, including Hamas.
As it turns out, six months later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is proving Erdan’s warning correct. Russia’s loyalty to Iran has deepened. More troubling is that Russia is now bashing Israel for “provoking” Iran. Such a claim is a hostile jab against Israel, given that Iran-backed Hamas started the war with Israel on October 7. There there the host of Iran’s other proxies that Israel must fight against, including Hizballah and the Houthis.
Iran is persistently provoking Israel. Lavrov claims that Israel violated Iran’s “territorial integrity and sovereignty” when it eliminated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Yet Israel’s action was justified. It was Israel that was violated, savaged and brutalized on October 7 by Hamas, whose chief funder and partner is Iran.
Iran is the head of the snake.
Russia drew a line in the sand against Israel in November, merely a month after the October 7 attack, when it “became openly critical and hostile toward Israel.”
Now Russia is trying to bring Turkey and Syria together (while also continuing to work closely with Iran), but it likely won’t happen anytime soon. Turkey severed ties with Syria in 2011 after the Syrian civil war broke out. Turkey supported the rebels who were trying to oust Assad. Just last week, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said “efforts to mend ties with Turkey had so far brought no tangible results.”
As Russia befriends Israel’s worst enemy, Iran, one needs to also remember that Iran has supplied Russia with drones in its war with Ukraine, which is another indicator of where Russia’s loyalties would likely lie.
“Russia’s FM Lavrov slams Israel while embracing Iran,” by Seth Frantzman, Jerusalem Post, September 1, 2024:
Russia is seeking to bring Turkey and the Syrian regime together, while also working closely with Iran.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov put out several statements over the last few days that include claims that Israel is provoking Iran, and suggesting that Hamas and Hezbollah cannot be defeated.
The comments were seen positively in Iran, where state media reported on them. Lavrov said the “assassination of the head of the Hamas politburo [Ismail Haniyeh] was an attempt to provoke Iran and that Iran will never submit to provocative actions,” IRNA reported….
Walter Sieruk says
That Russian,Gilad Erdan had much lying gall to claim the State of Israel is “provoking Iran.”
That’s blatant false claim because Iran is the agressive and hostile menace that is, in reality provoking Israel by supplying deadly weapons to murderous jihad entities , as Hamas ,Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad, that what to destroy Israel.
Futhermore, its that “mullah regime” of Iran that always keeps with the spiteful malice-filled anti- Israel propaganda with slogans to the Iranian people of “Death to Israel” and repeatedly calling Israel “The little Saran.”
Shame on Erdan for specking out such disinformation.
Daniel Bielak says
Well-said, Walter.
However, the article states that Sergey Lavrov is the Russian Foreign Minister, not Gilad Erdan. The article states that Gilad Erdan is Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations.
Kind regards,
Dan

To Daniel Bielak . Thank you for that information . I reads the article’s very fast, as in “skim through them” . Which at least in this case proves to be a bad habit .
Nevertheless , to reiterate , thank’s for letting me know.
Walter Sieruk says
Sergey Lavrov with that false charge he uttered that Israel is “provoking Iran” is an obvious false and terrible statement.
By speaking that bogus charge against Israel , which is God’s “treasured possession” Psalm 135:4. [N.I.V.] Lavrov is at risk of provoking God against Him . As the reveals in Proverbs 17;15 “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent – the Lord detest them both.”
For Lavrovby that lie he said , he made himself out to be a liar The Bible also reveals “all liars – they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.” Revelation 21:8.
Tony Rice says
Face ache Lavrov said 3 days before his country invaded Ukraine that the Russians were withdrawing their forces from the border. Liar par excellance. Representing Pukin on the world stage however must be a difficult task

Here is the tough question …. Which of them want to list UKRAINE as a Terrorist State ???
.
That was a Trick Question … It is whether or not they are ISLAMIC countries, not their location, that determines whether they want to label UKRAINE as Terrorist or not. Also having low IQ scores was helpful though.

I love quoting similar sets of IQ numbers so I hate to mention that most, so called, IQ tests are often considered to be racist. They are subjective and usually compare all people against the typical white european education criteria.
I wonder how long white europeans would survive in the African bush. IQ really has to be measured against life experience.

It’s a shame. The Russian people have a lot more in common w/ the Israelis than w/ any Western country. Certainly a lot more in common w/ Israelis than the Arabs or the Turks
࿗Infidel࿘ says
In the meantime, the stupid European globalists, while confronting Russia, are doing everything they can to sabotage Israel’s efforts against Russia’s new allies

Every other people has more in common than with Islamic Arabs or Turks! BTW, did anyone hear about the NATO Turkish attempt to kidnap(or worse) the American navy men? That done by the some type of party like the Turkish Youths. Spencer had it up in a post on 9.2.24 which is yesterday. This “Youth Party” started shouting in the streets and then grabbed the Americans and put bags on their heads – reminiscent of what Iranian hostages of the 80s. When will we and the world ever learn?
PS. Has anyone ever heard of the hijacking of the Indian airlines on December 24, 1999? Yes, done by the same people that just have a thing for airplanes AND a thing for abductions. There’s a story about it on Netflix. I’m surprised that the Hindus were able to tell this story.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
No, in that movie, the perps were somewhat whitewashed, and surprisingly, IMO, the Indian regime, which has of late never missed an opportunity to stab Hindus in the back, has ordered the head of Nextflix’s Indian branch to appear before it
