Former CIA Director Leon Panetta referred to Israel’s pager operation as “terrorism” during a recent interview with CBS News.
In Lebanon last week, mass explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies belonging to members of the Iran-back Shiite group Hezbollah. The attack has been widely attributed to Israel’s intelligence organization Mossad, leading to the deaths of dozens of people and wounding thousands.
During an interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Panetta told anchor Lee Cowan that the action’s by Israel are “a form of terrorism.” Panetta then added that the action’s by Israel could lead to more deadly operations going forward in the war.
PANETTA: The ability to be able to place an explosive in technology that is very prevalent these days. And turn it into a war of terror. Really, a war of terror. This is something new.
COWAN: Is it terrorism?
PANETTA: I don’t think there’s any question that it’s a form of terrorism…This is going right into the supply chain, right into the supply chain. And when you have terror going into the supply chain, it makes people ask the question, what the hell is next?…

Panetta is wrong, ompletely wrong. If Israel were to detonate a car bomb in front of a school while students are leaving in order to effect maximum casualties and deaths, that woiuld indeed be terrorism.
The exploding pagers is a target-specific attack aimed at a single casusalty, perhaps two if they are close by. Any peripheral injury or death, unless aimed to another terrorist, is accidental and unintentional.

Panetta should be another one to have his security clearance taken away. Does Israel have a chance when a former CIA head is looking after the interests of a terrorist entity named as such by the United states. Wouldn’t such opinions remove him from consideration from having any standing with any Intelligence sector of the United States? He should also be removed from anyone passing secret or Confidential information to him. And never allowed to get near any Secret/Confidential documents. Any plastic cards, or pass keys that allow him to enter any building associated with the CIA should be taken from him. Let him read the NY Times for his information. He is not to be trusted as is anyone taking the side of a Hezbollah, Hamas, al Qaeda or ISIS organization.
