Orthodox Jews, who cannot change their distinctive dress, have been singled out for attack. Jews who have been harassed and attacked while riding on city buses have been switching from buses to taking taxes. Now the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has established a new bus route to make Jewish residents of the city feel safer. The bus route will run between the two largest centers of Jewish population in the city — Stamford Hill in Hackney, and Golders Green in Barnet — without the need to change buses at any point.

With antisemitic incidents surging in London, the British capital city has introduced a new bus route to help Jewish residents “feel safe” when they travel.
The newly launched 310 bus will run every 20 minutes from 7 am to 7 pm daily between Stamford Hill in Hackney and Golders Green in Barnet, areas with two of the biggest Jewish communities in London, according to British media reports.
Transport for London, a local government body overseeing much of the city’s transport network, will collect data on the new bus route’s use before deciding whether to make it permanent.
“Jewish Londoners have felt scared to leave their homes,” London Mayor Sadiq Khan told The Jewish Chronicle. “So, this direct bus link between these two significant communities means you can travel on the 310, not need to change, and be safe and feel safer. I hope that will lead to more Londoners from these communities using public transport safely.”
Khan expressed similar sentiments to BBC London.
“I was struck by the conversations I’ve had in recent months with the Jewish community,” he said. “They were frightened because of a massive increase of antisemitism since Oct. 7 of last year. I was told stories by families who, where they changed buses from Stamford Hill to Golders Green at Finsbury Park, they were frightened about the abuse they had received.”…
The new 310 buses will travel every twenty minutes from Stamford Hill to Golders Green directly. There will no longer be a need to change buses at Finsbury Park, a part of the city heavily populated by Muslims, where those Jewish passengers have frequently been the target of abuse.
Jewish organizations have been campaigning for such a bus route that would directly link Stamford Hill to Golders Green for sixteen years. Better late than never, but why has a pressing need of London’s Jews been so far down the To-Do List of Mayor Khan, who has been in office for the last eight years?
This 310 bus, directly linking the two main population centers of London’s Jews — Golders Green and Stamford Hill — answers a felt need. Now Jews are safer, and what’s more, they feel safer, convinced that the mayor is determined to improve their situation and relieve their anxiety.
It’s good that the 310 bus will now be in operation; it’s terrible that the 310 bus has proven necessary.

The last sentence sums up what i think about this.. I’m very Glad they did something but really this is where we are.? The fact of the matter is,this does nothing to get rid of or fix the underlying problem.. Things are so upside down in the UK you can’t even acknowledge the actual problem..
