Proponents of illegal migration have also foisted an impossible economic burden onto taxpayers, along with rising crime and threats to national security. They can also be blamed for the tragedies of migrants jumping overboard, as well as reported accidents, as they continue to encourage people smugglers and the illegal flow of migrants.

Only because “uninvited ” guest that you do not know knock on your front door you have no obligation to let them in .He did not sink the ship in harbor or keep it from leaving so where are the kidnapping charges coming from? I assume that the Italians brought food and other resources to the people on the ship in those 19 day . Should the group ” Charity Open Arms” that operated this ship be charge with the expense of feeding the people on this ship and other services on the taxpayers dime for 19 days should the ship be impounded after the illegal refugees are return from where they left from? If this ship was smuggling drugs or weapons the government would impound it and have the owner jailed why not an illegal alien smuggling operation?. Who is bankrolling” Charity Open Arms” are they also receiving government funds? .

As usual, you just made the perfect response. I, too, always thought that kidnapping was the act of abducting and holding someone, usually for money or some other benefit for the abductor. Britanica’s definition of kidnapping is: “kidnapping, criminal offense consisting of the unlawful taking and carrying away of a person by force or fraud or the unlawful seizure and detention of a person against his will.” As you stated, the crime infested pretend to be a charity, Open Arms, is the kidnapper.

Salvini should have:
1. Made sure that the illegal migrants had food and water and were medically stable.
2. Forced the NGO migrant ship back to its country of origin.
3. Confiscated the ship.
That way, he would not have been charged with kidnapping.

Things do not work that way any more unelected EU leaders call the shots the legal taxpaying ,law abiding citizen be damned .You will have to take in uneducated ,unskilled ,and in many case criminal types of refugees because we say so ! More countries need to close the ports. We citizens do not have the money or infrastructure to accommodate millions of new people.
Our own citizens are being forced out of their rentals, loss of medical care. It is all going to the illegals.
